I ordered Jon Smith Subs through Uber Eats, and it was a complete disappointment. Both the steak sandwich and the chicken sandwich arrived cold and soggy, as if they had been sitting around for a long time before being delivered. The chicken was badly overcooked--dry, tough, and nearly inedible. For the price, the quality was unacceptable. Freshness and quality are the bare minimum you expect from a sandwich shop, and this order missed the mark in every way. I won't be ordering from Jon Smith Subs again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone considering it. Save your money and order from one of the many other places that actually serves fresh, hot food. read more

Why I'll go back: Tasty sirloin steak You HAVE to order: Any steak sandwich Tony's Tip: Parking lot is tight and exit is challenging, depending on what direction you are heading. But there's a connector behind the store to another lot that's easier to exit, and if you're quick on a takeout, you can probably park there too (before the tow truck comes). I was a Jon Smith virgin...until today! Can't tell you how many times I've passed this place heading to and from West Palm Beach/Palm Beach island. I thought it was mostly another cold sub place (which they have). Didn't realize steak is their thing. They do it well. You really can't get this quality of meat at other fast food spots. Had a footlong classic (steak, onions, cheese, mayo, + shredded lettuce). Was delicious. The meat tastes fresher and juicier than Subway. The bread/meat ratio was good. Came out quick. Stayed hot on a 20-minute drive home. FWIW, the seating/ambience is uninspiring. Seems pricey at over $15, but I definitely enjoyed the sub. May now try another sandwich or two, and the supposedly "famous" fries (claiming to be better than Five Guys?). Anyway, glad I finally satisfied my curiosity. read more

Best grilled chicken sandwich in town don't for get to get the footlong! It's delicious

Eating out has become very costly, so the food to cost value, needs to be justified. $22 for 1/2 steak sub & jumbo ff & drink x 2 plus tip = $50 for lunch. I can say that the food was good & so was the service. Prime location on the corner, plenty of room to sit & enjoy your food & some country music read more

SO FRESH SO GOOD. Stopped in here to get a quick sub and was very impressed with the food and service. I love a good classic Italian, and this is everything you'd want and more. Bread is made fresh daily and sliced to order? Say no more. Worth the trip over to Jon Smiths!! read more

Never ever order with DoorDash. Do pickup! This was my first time trying the place. I'm not reviewing DoorDash so this is for my food. I got the food over an hour after ordering. The fries were ice cold and soggy. The Reuben needed help. I put everything in the oven and voila I turned it around. I loved the skinny crispy fries. They did crisp right up in the oven yay! The Reuben was ok. The bread got cold and hard. After the oven it got harder. Not a lot of meat. I did enjoy the flavor. I'm on the fence about this place. read more

I'm disappointed to write this, as I've been to this location before, but my most recent experience was extremely unprofessional. While attempting to pay for a sandwich, my card did not process when I tapped it. I calmly stated that I wasn't sure what went wrong. An employee named Crystal, who was not directly assisting me, addressed me loudly from behind the counter and said, "Don't break my machine now. They're brand new." This was said in front of other customers and felt accusatory and unnecessary. When I expressed that the comment was inappropriate, the situation escalated. She stated publicly that I "always bring the same bad energy," which was unprovoked and inaccurate. We were there to order food and were in a hurry, not causing any disruption. Because of the tone and public nature of the interaction, I decided I no longer wanted to dine in and asked to take the food to go. Her response was, "Good." When I stated that she was being rudense continued to make personal comments rather than de-escalating. As we were leaving, she smirked and said, "Here, thank you," in a clearly sarcastic manner. The entire interaction was uncomfortable, confrontational, and unprofessional, especially since it happened in front of other customers. At no point was there an attempt to resolve the situation respectfully. read more

From ordering my turkey & cheese to getting my sandwich was only about two minutes, they were very nice and the food was good, I will go back definitely. My favorite cheesesteak ever. The hospitality and quality is unmatched. Definitely give it a shot if you haven't had it yet.

All sandwiches took a while because they made them fresh to our order. Probably 10 min. Colton served us and he had it under control. He walked around after to ensure everything was as we liked it. The ingredients were freshly chopped and grilled to order. This is a big step up from subway but just a hair more expensive. It's worth it. Fries were touted as the best. They were good but probably same as a few other chains. Must go in Florida. read more

This Location has always did great service and the food was great. I don't know what changed but twice I ordered food as Uber eats and today just picked it up. Bad food quality for the price. Timing was great but rush job. Barely any steak on the sub I might as well gotten a 6 inch. Sorry, y'all had a good run but I might as well go to Publix. read more

Maybe it's a good thing that you won't find it on the chain's website. It's such an unchain store for this brand: Extremely clean, sandwiches that actually look something more like, oh, the photos. The fries? They make 'em fresh, so even if you come to pick up an order, plan to wait 3 minutes for your batch. They claim they're better than the Golden Arches. (They're right.) read more

Avoid this poor excuse of a sub shop! Terrible. $8.75 for a turkey n cheese half sub w 2 slices of turkey. U should be ashamed to even have SUB in ur name. We will Never be back. I live down the street from John Smiths. It's my go-to sandwich place especially when I'm pressed for time. I've been a customer since they opened. Today I ordered a large tuna sub, no fixings, just tuna. When I arrived home and opened the sandwich I discovered that the tuna portion was spread thinly like butter. Just a thin layer of tuna. It was disappointing and I was still hungry after consuming this 12" roll with tuna paste. The sandwich was $13.00. Look, I understand that the restaurant business is particularly hard pressed recently. Costs. Help. Rent. I also note that the lunchtime crew included no one I recognized. Publix makes a tune sub that's robust, fulsome, dare I say, beefy. Their rolls aren't soggy and they offer a wide variety of fresh rolls. I'll try it again, but if my experience is the same, I'm going to be obliged to go one block further west and wait in a longer line. Sorry folks, life is too short. read more

We were riding through West Palm Beach trying to decide where to eat when we came across Jon Smith Subs. Everyone was masked and socially distant during the pandemic so no worries on that end. Everyone was extremely nice and we notified them that we have never been there before. He mentioned all the popular items that are sold such as the Steak Bomb but we ended up going with the 6" Spicy Cajun Steak sub on white bread everything on it and Robert got the Chicken Teriyaki sub with extra sauce. We chose to eat at the airport to watch the planes and we were so excited to see how soft the bread was and the quality of meat was amazing. Next time we go to West Palm Beach we will be stopping again. read more

Jon Smith Subs - Cuban sandwich with hair, sorry for the disgusting picture but is unacceptable on pandemic times - Sandwiches Near Me - West Palm Beach, Florida

I wanna start with the fact that I usually eat at this location because it is nearby. The little cook lady is amazing and makes great steak bombs. My 1 star doesn't come from the food, however, it comes from the obnoxious and know-it-all manager there. His name is Aaron. About a 6' white guy with blonde short hair and muscular. I asked him a simple question in a normal manner which was "why they didn't have a value drink?" He proceeded to treat me like some A-hole and went off on this extremely long rant about how they lose all their money on steak bombs and only make money on drinks which is complete bulls***. If you know anything about the food service, it's a business and food costs typically don't go above 40%. They don't lose all their money on steak bombs or I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be in business considering they primarily promote their steak subs. Aaron started his response with "because that's where we make all our money and steak is where we lose all our money." Not exactly the information a customer tends to care about. The impression I got from him repeating what he was saying in different ways was that he was either trying to assert some kind of comprehensive steak bomb financial knowledge in a dominant fashion or he didn't know how to answer simple questions respectfully. He also had this tone in his voice that was obnoxious the entire time he was speaking. Just the way he spoke to a customer, as I said before, was very unprofessional. I really didn't like it considering I visit this location multiple times a month and I've only seen this guy twice. It was a simple question that didn't require a financial life story to be answered. Everywhere else in the area offers some kind of value drink so I was just curious. Unfortunately this is the only John Smith nearby but the local shops are better and Miami Subs isn't too far I guess. Thanks for the useless information though, and a reason to go to your competitors. read more

Jon Smith Subs - John Smith Subs WPB on Dixie and Southern - Sandwiches Near Me - West Palm Beach, Florida

Sometimes you don't know a good thing until you no longer have it. Growing up in WPB Jon Smith Subs was an institution and I worked with a few colleagues who were big fans of the food here, so naturally I came to like it by proxy. So I was delighted to stumble upon one while I was in the area waiting for an appointment with about 45 minutes to kill (and very hungry). It's no frills, and I admit that seeing everything as if it never changed brought back some mostalgic feelings for when I used to frequent their chains. But the most important thing for me was to take a bite of my cheeseburger bomb and still taste as good as I remember. My only concern is I fear I may have triggered a craving for the sub which will require some distance :-/ read more

After arriving in West Palm Beach, FL late last night for a weeklong visit with family and friends, I came down here for lunch with my dad who recommended this place. Jon Smith Subs is located on the corner of S. Dixie Highway and Southern Boulevard across from Walgreens and just down the road from Palm Beach International Airport. The seating area is small yet cozy and brightly lit with an upbeat vibe. The girl behind the counter was very friendly and treated my dad like an old friend once she recognized him. She quickly took our orders upon approaching the counter. We both ordered their signature sub The Steak Bomb, a popular customer favorite with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, bacon, tomatoes, and provolone cheese along with a side of fries. The sub was delicious with plenty of thick-sliced onions and grilled green peppers offering a great balance with the diced bacon, lots of provolone cheese, and a generous amount of marinated sirloin steak on toasted French bread. The fries were crispy and hot, thin-cut style that complemented the sub along with a large iced tea that was perfect for the sunny 75 degree weather outside. There were other promotional subs displayed on the wall that I would like to try on my next visit when my younger brother comes in from Tampa. Some of the more notable subs include the Maple Chicken (Smokehouse maple spice rub and maple syrup glaze with bacon), the Lemon Pepper Chicken (lemon juice, seasonings, and capers.....this one sounds awesome), the Gator (sirloin steak, chicken, kielbasa, and provolone with "swamp sauce"), and the Tuna Bomb which is the owner's personal favorite according to the employee. This sub shop would be a great addition for Anchorage, from one end of the country to the other. read more

Cheap owner - do not order any steak subs - they are pre proportioned tiny steaks- it's been that way for year !!!! Stay away !

Since I've been down here working I've stopped by here for lunch on several occasions. I like the food here. I usually get a maple bacon chicken sub on wheat bread. You can get it in a 6" or foot long. It's is excellent! Not heavy and filling. I also get a small order of fries and between that and a cold drink you will leave out of there satisfied. My coworkers also swear by the meatball sub that's made there. There's also an assortment of chips and cookies that you can also purchase.
