When I went outside to leave, my car was parked in a handicap spot. There was only one other car in the entire row of spots, and they chose to park my vehicle illegally. What if the police had come in those few minutes and ticketed me? I went back inside to tell the manager that he shouldn't allow his employees to do that, and he told me that they only did it for my convenience, so that I would be able to find my car easily in a close spot. I just got off the phone with Landon at the Town Fair Tire outlet in Wallingford, CT. I am getting my tires rotated at the outlet in Middletown, CT. I was not able to get through to that outlet. I had an appointment for 11:30A.M, Feb. 17 and an M.D. appointment at 2:00P.M. Although I was not doing business with Landon's outlet, he was extremely courteous and patient. He assured me that I would certainly have enough time to have the rotation completed. Landon's customer service was outstanding. I am a 78-yr. old, long-time customer of Town Fair and will continue to be one as this case is typical of all the exchanges I have had in the past. They do not try to sell you a grade of tire that you do not need and they complete their work with the greatest of professionalism. read more

I brought my new vehicle to Town Fair Tire in Wallingford, CT to upgrade the tires less than 2 weeks after purchase. During the tire replacement, the tech closed the garage door on the tailgate and damaged the rear bumper, resulting in $4K of damage. The store manager, Roger Torres in Wallingford did not disclose this information to me, and I had to find it myself - when confronting them about the damage, they denied being responsible. After several minutes of discussion, they admitted to damaging the tailgate but would not take responsibility for the bumper. When dealing with their customer service team, I was initially led to believe this would be made right, however their director, Rich Allen, took the same stance as the store manager who had originally lied to me. I am now left to deal with the cost of repairing the bumper myself. I highly recommend NOT doing business with Town Fair, particularly their store in Wallingford, CT on North Colony Road. If you must do business with them, request that the store manager do a 360 check of the vehicle with you to identify its current conditions prior to one of the techs taking it into the garage and repeating the process before leaving their property. Doing so may save you a couple thousand dollars. I was told because I left the property, it was not evident that they had caused the damage, keeping in mind their store manager did not disclose that they had damaged the vehicle until confronted. Overall, dishonest business with prices that are matched by just about any of their competitors - not worth risking the damage to your vehicle. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I recently visited Town Fair Tire in Wallingford, CT due to a slow leak in my front driver's side tire. After inspecting it, the staff (Roger) told me that there had been a plug in the tire that came out, and that the tire could not be repaired. They said I definitely needed to replace the tire -- and even suggested that I consider replacing all four because they were very worn, despite my vehicle only having 26,000 miles on it. I was surprised by this, especially since I've never had a plug put in that tire. When I mentioned that to the staff, I was told that I must have -- which didn't sit right with me. I decided to get a second opinion before purchasing anything. I brought the car to another shop, and they confirmed that there was no previous plug -- just a nail in the tire, which they were able to remove and patch with no issue. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed by my experience at Town Fair Tire in Wallingford. I appreciate shops that are honest and transparent, and unfortunately, that was not my experience here. read more

One time my car even sat in the lot finished for 20mins before I walked up and asked them about it in which they replied oh yeah I guess it is ready. This tire business seems to be more geared towards selling you a set of 4 tires with NO emphasis on fixing flats. John quoted me a wait time of 45-60 minutes. In reality, I gave up waiting after 90 minutes when I noticed they never even started on my service. The other front desk person apologized and asked if I wanted to book an appointment, and come back while John ignored me standing at the counter. Secondly, paid for alignment was told that my tie rods were frozen, OK, but they returned truck with worse alignment numbers than when I came in. If I could give 0 stars I would. Got the worst customer service I've ever had. It took 10 minutes to get service at the front desk. Went because there was a nail in my tire, there was a small bubble/gash in the side of the tire as well I wasn't aware of and they informed me of it. They said they wouldn't fix it because they "close in 45 min" then they word for for word said to me "but if you drive on this tire there's a chance it will detonate and you could die" but refused to fix it or help in any way because they closed in 45 minutes. Having done my homework, I ordered a set of Continental Crosscontact 25's through the TFT Website & their "Tire Expert" (via tel) and had them mounted at the Middletown, CT store. My contact at the Middletown TFT was Mustafa. Service was prompt, courteous and actually came out $40 less than quoted on the phone. Associate at the desk was nice but I will not be bringing my car back here. He did waive the fee for me since I was told in the phone from someone in the shop that my tire couldn't be fixed. Then found out the guy at the desk wasn't told and the paper he had was to charge me for "fixing" it. I am very very upset with this location. Long story short, I went in for a screw in my tire a few weeks ago, they plugged it, told me everything was all set. I was happy at first until, I started losing air in my tire. I went back and was told there is a second hole. Before bringing it in I checked it out and there was no other hole and I never had any leaking before getting it plugged at this location. I was basically told "oh well" and that I would have to just buy a new tire now. To make it worse, while checking out my tire after, my wheel face is scratched up now. It looks to me like someone in the shop placed it face down when they got it off. This is not okay and I will never suggest going here to anyone. read more

Best place to fix your tire . They patch the inside the tire instead of plugging it and for a decent price. I had no appointment yet they fit me right in. Usually it's a two hour wait . The crew was very friendly and gave me great advice. The place itself is very organized even with the surplus of tires all around . I had my 7 yr old with me and he loved seeing the tires stacked up high. There is a nice waiting area with a Keurig coffee machine and a soda machine . Plugs galore so definitely bring a charger with you around all the leather comfy chairs in the waiting section . If you would like to watch your vehicle being fixed there is a monitor at the front desk you can see everything that's going on inside the shop. They do have tire specials and more the signs are posted ! read more

I went in with my tire pressure light flashing, and asked if it would take long to get fixed, Kevin said drive around back, and lets see what we can find. He checked the pressures, all good. He checked the sensors, all good! He checked the code, nothing showing, cleared it, the light went out. We couldn't figure out what the problem was, but there isn't one. Car is getting old, could be a glitch. He didn't charge me anything, was very nice. Told me if I have a problem, just bring it back. I drove home feeling much more confident in my 2012 Fiat 500c, I love my car, and now am not worried about a flat tire or broken sensor. Thank you, Kevin! read more

I said put my best old tire on the spare. When i picked the truck up the tire was in the truck but not mounted . I'm from Pennsylvania. While driving on 95 I discovered my tire low pressure light came on. I was on my way to the Fairfield Inn. I stopped at a gas station to put air in the tire. I looked across the street and saw The Town Fair Store. I crossed the street and I met John. I asked John if it would be possible to repair my tire. I explained that I was traveling to Massachusetts to see my nephew who has cancer. He apologized and informed me it would not be possible today. But, he informed me that he could schedule me tomorrow and gave me an appointment for 9:30. I arrived at the store early. John, found a slot to move me up. I didn't know what to expect since I'm from out of state. Am I going to get a sales pitch to buy new tires or am I going to be charged $50 to repair a tire. The tire was repaired. John asked me to come to the counter and informed I may need new brake lining next inspection and then I was presented with a bill for $13.24. This included some additional work that was required. I am 80 years of age and it probably would have been easy to take advantage of me. John, and York Tire Center have given me a faith in people and business. Thank you so much John. Also, while I was waiting, I had an opportunity to watch the associates who were so amiable. No bad language, upbeat attitude. Attention to customers. I had a leak in my 2013 Honda Fit tmps valve stem. Spray window cleaner on it and you saw bubbles. They rebuilt the valve and I was charged 10 for both parts and labor. The Tmps was still good and no reprogram was required. I did have to wait 30 minutes or so. There was no attempt to over charge or over sell. read more

Great experience with Frank from town fair this week. I needed to get a new set of tires for the winter. Even in the pouring rain, Frank didn't hesitate to go outside just to make sure we got the sizes right. The tires were cheaper than the competitors, and they were there next day. I came in a few days later to have them installed. Frank was able to take me right away, and I was impressed by the setup. They had a screen that listed the work currently being done and the estimated time of completion. It had real time updates so you knew exactly what was going on. Right next to that screen, they had another TV with a live view of the garage bays. I was able to watch the work being done on my car every step of the way, all while being warm, sitting in a comfy fair, and finishing up some work on my laptop(free WiFi). I'll definitely be going back for my wheel and tire needs. read more

Ended up stranded in Wallingford with a flat tire. I usually use the Enfield location. Roger was a great help in replacing the tire (covered by road hazard warranty). The store did not have the tire in stock, but he called the Enfield store and arranged for them to order the tire I needed. They made an appointment for 8:30 AM tomorrow morning. Further, I needed to drive on the highway to get home and couldn't do that on a donut, so they replaced the flat tire with a random tire that fit my car and the Enfield store said I could just swap it out in the morning. Typically when entering establishments like this, there is some expectations of confusion, perhaps attitude and lack of scheduling. Not so this time! An owner of three vehicles, I go to the Wallingford Town Fair Tire somewhat more frequently than I would like. This time was sooooo much different. Many thanks and high praise to Kevin R.! Never seen him there before...but he actually had an understanding and outward personality that is lacking in this industry! Extremely helpful and knew what needed to be done. Was very accommodating and was able to get the task done within closing time. Wasn't essential that I needed a repair so fast and opted to pick up my repair the next day. He was there again and greeted me immediately and knew exactly what transaction had transpired. Very personable, very witty with an amazing attitude. My compliments and admiration to his efforts and understanding of customer service...something that is rarely found in this era. I have been going here for years and have never had any issues. The prices are amazing and the service is always outstanding. The manager Frank is always so courteous and goes above and beyond. The second I walk in the door I am greeted and helped. I see some reviews about wait time, I never had to wait for an extended amount of time but I would rather them take the time to do the job since the tires are the most important thing on the vehicle. I would actually give them 0 stars if possible. I went to get two tires replaced because my wife's tire got punctured too close to the sidewall to repair. Chose our tires, they price matched, great. The kid who did the job finished and came in with a pissed attitude and just threw the keys and paperwork on the sales associates desk like someone just killed his kitten. So I figured I'd check it out. He didn't use the locking lug nut because that must have been too hard with his kitten being killed and all... he also didn't tighten down the spare tire with the bose audio system on it which would have been rattling like crazy. When we checked with the associate his response was, he put it back just didn't tighten it... well I hope he at least tightened the lug nuts... read more
