Excellent service, great value and fairly fast installation of four tires while I waited.

Lou was great explaining options & getting everything done for me as quickly & safely as possible. HIGHLY recommend!!!! read more

Overall, I had an excellent experience and would highly recommend them to anyone needing tire service. Very honest - I came in thinking I needed four new tires, they took the time to properly inspect my vehicle and told me I could actually get away with replacing just two tires, saving me hundreds of dollars. Many shops would have just sold me the full set without mentioning this option. The staff (Randy) went above and beyond to help me save money on the two tires I did need, working with me to find options that fit my budget without compromising on quality or safety. The service was also good- Car was ready within the timeframe shared. I also want to mention the online appointment system, which is a big plus. Being able to schedule my appointment online meant I didn't have to sit around waiting - I just showed up at my scheduled time and they were ready for me. Finally, this is not a single good experience. My wife and son both purchased tires on two separate occasions, and their experiences were similar. Overall, this is a trustworthy shop that prioritizes customer service and honest recommendations over making a quick sale. I'll definitely be returning for future tire needs. Book online to save time and do your research on price. This will ensure a great experience, help get the best price, and reduce or eliminate waiting time. read more

THEY MAY JUST KILL YOU! READ ON: It takes a special type of clown (manager) to refuse service and argue with customer without any fact-checking. And if this scenario was flipped, it could be life-ending. I came in w/ my 2016 WRX and was refused because they believed, without any fact-checking, that it required flat lug nuts. The manager and a tech claimed I was doing damage to my wheels with 60 degree conicals. (STOCK!) When I pressed on, the manager thought the wheels were aluminum. When I corrected him, he said it doesn't make a difference which is also incorrect. I amicably left, not confident, and made two calls. One to another Town Fair Tire and one to Subaru. As mentioned, has this scenario been flipped (they use conicals on aluminum) they could kill someone. So, I went back, and wanted to give them a second chance. But a call had just ended and he was not happy to see me. At this time, I expected some level of confirmation, and apology. Instead, he pressed on without any further confirmation. This is not Customer Support. I expected much better. But instead, now, I expect some tired defense or reference to my attitude. But we both know I didn't lose it until you defied all logic and your job. I really meant the "a$$hole" comment for wasting my time. You.are.the.worst. read more

Was in town visiting family when the tire pressure light came on in my uncle's car. A quick search on google led me to Town Fair Tire where I had quick and professional service. The employee at the desk took my information then came out to the car to get the mileage and VIN before instructing me to pull the car around to the garage where a mechanic was waiting for me. He quickly checked the air pressure in the tires, added some here and there, reset the tire system on the car and sent me on my way. If I lived locally, this would be my tire place. read more

My wife's car had a flat tire. Unfortunately, two of the Lug nuts were stripped so I could not change it for the spare myself. Had it towed to town fair tire. The team found the cause of the leak (a rivet gun nail). They patched it quickly, replaced the broken lug nut and had me back on the road quickly. would recommend! read more

I was so apprehensive about getting a new set of tires for my car (first time car owner)! Was evaluating a few other tire retailers but so glad I ended up here! From their call center to the store, everyone I interacted with was so professional and kind. Jose was great at explaining everything to me, some key tips for tire rotation and alignment, etc. SO grateful for their team, felt taken care of from start to finish. Thank you all! read more

I recently had an appointment at this location to have new tires put on my car, a blue 2014 Hyundai Elantra Coupe, in addition to having them balanced and aligned. Every Town Fair Tire experience I had in the past has been positive until now; upon this appointment I noticed one of the staff was unnecessarily revving the engine and driving my car recklessly-aggressively through the parking lot into the garage. Due to a recall, my engine was recently replaced and has less than 1000 miles on it. The dealership informed me that I should be driving it carefully and not let the RPMs go above 4000, which one of the technicians here clearly did. When I mentioned it to the person at the counter, he told me that the tech said the throttle was sticky. Clearly this is not the case. I am highly disappointed in the treatment of my vehicle and me as a longtime customer. read more

I brought my car in for a snow tire changeover. The right front tire wasn't mounted properly and went flat. It was unrepairable and had to be replaced, costing me more than $300 at the dealership. Don't put yourself or your family in danger due to poor installation. I was lucky I wasn't on the highway when it failed. read more

I can't say enough about the service I received today at Town Fair. I came in at around 830 am with a tire that kept losing air. I also arrived without an appointment. I was greeted by a super helpful and pleasant gentleman who quickly checked me in and said they would text when it was ready - or call if there was more than a minor repair required. A few hours later and $13 later I was good to go. Uber-ed back and checked out quickly on my lunch hour. At a time where good service is pretty hard to come by, I truly appreciate the effort and the positive attitude. I'll be back for sure!! read more

This was the most helpful crew of people. I came in late one day with a low tire pressure light on thinking I was going to need to purchase a new tire since mine had a nail in it and Randy saw me right away. He was so kind and assured me that it could be resolved quickly. He fixed the tire at no cost to me and I was smooth sailing. It truly put me at ease, and I am so grateful. read more

Prices are reasonable and warranties are good however the employee working on my tire was very rude and impatient. When I questioned whether I had a warranty on the tire I was replacing he started yelling at me and calling me "kid". read more

EDIT 12-18-17: I want to add an additional comment about my below review. After returning with my car, the store manager and other employees were very apologetic about the mistake, and my car was promptly handled - even though it was close to closing time. The mechanic also brought the car right to me, to make sure I was happy with the work. In addition, the regional store manager contacted me personally to apologize for the error. While I was left soured by the initial experience, I greatly appreciate Town Fair stepping up and admitting mistakes were made, and working to make them right. A lesser shop could have written me off as a customer, but they went out of their way to apologize. To them, I say thank you! ---- Went there for a Snow Tire changeover, got talked into adding an alignment on top of it. Picked up the car two hours later (I had made an appointment) ... got all the way home before I realized they NEVER CHANGED THE TIRES. It started snowing on the way home... glad I just got my tires swapped, I thought. They had ONE JOB. One. Job. I called them. Explained what happened. No apology. No explanation. Just told to bring it back and they'll "check it out." Literally, he said "we'll check it out." Like I'm lying to you, pal. Never again. Never. read more

Place is a joke --- sell you the world when your spending 500-1000 on tires --- go to get your tires rotAted or flat repair and you need to take a day off from work --- call the store they tell you you dont need an appointment then you show up and they say you need an appointment -- worse than going up the Dmv --- read more

I called the store directly on Monday 6/17/19 because I can't find what I wanted online. The young man, Jose, explained very clearly where exactly where I could find it online, but instead took the time to place my order over the phone. I chose an early appt. Wednesday at 9:30 am. By 11am i'm out the door with 4 new tires and and 4 rims. Jose behind the counter was very professional and knowledgeable of what exactly I needed. This is why this is the 5th set of tires I've purchased from this establishment. Upper management really needs to recognize the excellent workers they have. read more

I am giving this location a one star review not because of bad service or poor quality tires are topnotch. Service and products are excellent. I am tired of businesses inflicting their political views by running Fox news on there TV. Fox news is a high politicized propaganda media outlet. I will consider taking my tire business elsewhere if Town Fair Tire continues to air this garbage in their showrooms. I vote with my wallet and I will go elsewhere. read more

I just left that store. Bad customer service, I have never been so poorly served in my life. Totally unprepared employees! I made an appointment on Thursday for Saturday 16/01 at 12:30. They can't find my name and said that because I don't have my name it would take me all day to change my car tires. Only I had the confirmation email and showed it to the unprepared person who was attending to me. With an unwillingness he managed to find my name by phone number. After that he went to check my car and came with the famous scam of that store. "We don't have the tire" and the "tire size of the order is not that of your car". I told the unprepared that I made the note on the website and followed all the steps step by step putting the information about my car and so the website gives me the tire value. Only the imbecile said it was my fault for putting the wrong tire information! After such a mistake I canceled my appointment and left. I wasted my time, but I never waste my time with any of these stores. read more

FREE...FREE...FREE! OK, did I clarify they offer some services for FREE! I have been coming to this location for about 2 years now. I've had tires repaired, purchased tires, had them rotated and have had an alignment. The service was stellar every single time. Of course you may have to wait, but no worries they have a comfortable waiting area or you can go get lost in Big Y. Now back to the FREE. They offer the following services for free: 1. Mounting 2. Rotation (every 5000 miles) 3. Snow Tire Changeover 4. Flat Repair I don't know of any business that offer free services with a smile. BRAVO! When you do have to pay, they will do their best to help you shop for the correct safe product that won't damage your pocket. Let's be real, usually we wait too long to go to the tire place. What motivates these trips are either a flat or noticible nail. When that happens, its NEVER payday. It's nice to know they'll offer you multiple options. I will continue to give them my business. Never disappointed! read more

Town Fair Tire - Tires Near Me - Stratford, Connecticut

See all

I have been a Town Fair tire customer for many years and have always been happy with the service. The Hawley Lane store is run by Randy Springer who happens to be one of the best if not the best senior store manager within the chain. Anytime I have a question or problem with my cars or truck tires, Randy has the answer. Recently I had my 1969 Ford Bronco in for four rather large tires that didnt seem that common and I was wondering if Randy could find them. Not only did the warehouse have the tires, I was able to have them mounted and balanced within hours. If you want a hassle free experience when buying your tires, go see Randy at the Town Fair Hawley Lane Store. read more

I had my first experience today at Town Fair Tire on Hawley Lane in Stratford, Ct I can't even tell you how great it was. I had called and spoken to Steve about a tire that had to be ordered. They got the tire in less then 24 hrs. When I arrived to have the service done they were so kind and helpful. They promised the tires to be done in less then an hour, 20 mins later I was on my way home! Who gets a job done in less time then promised? Town Fair Tire on Hawley Lane, that's who! Can't say enough about their professional attitudes. They have my vote! read more

Not impressed!! New to CT. Referred to get tires, alignment here. Dealt with Michael. Not nice. Not professional. A very crabby, miserable person who shouldn't be in customer service. Got 4 new tires... My car's back end needs work so both tires wore badly within 2 months. Got a flat on back passenger tire, went back to Town Tire, they put another tire on my cracked rim (noone noticed) aligned my car and sent us on our way. I began driving down the Merritt Pkwy and within 3 miles, I get a flat!! I call Michael to let him know that I'm sitting on the Merritt with a flat on the brand new tire that I purchased ($148 - one tire!) less than a half hour before. Nothing! "Well mam, if you can bring tire here, we can look at it" I'm stuck on the Merritt Michael with a flat on the tire I just purchased from you ten minutes ago!! Never a "oh, I'm sorry" or something like this. Nope. Says come back with tire. We do so. Michael says he owes us a new tire being that his guys place a brand new tire on a bad rim. Perfect. We go back with good rim (with a flat) to replace with new (free) tire. This is where the fun begins. Micheal, from jump, is rude to me. No smile, no cooperation, no good service. My husband and I wait over an hour and half to get one tire placed on a rim. He charges us $22 for labor to place tire on rim. Didn't we pay labor for the tire that was placed on bad, cracked rim? Wouldn't it be good customer service to do without any fee being the only reason I'm here again is bc you all place tire on bad rim? After they finally took tire into the shop, it took them less than 7 minutes to place on rim. Why was I there for close to two hours??? Bad customer service!! Will go somewhere else next time. read more

I went there to do a quick job to check why a single tire keeps loosing pressure. No appointment, i just walked into the store around 1pm. I told the guy i will wait since this kind of job never took more than an hour previously at all other locations i have went to before years ago. At 4pm i went to the register to find out what the status on my car. I patiently waited for 15 min at the register for the guy to finish with the customer he had so i could ask. The guy that checked me in earlier came to the register grabbed one of the new customers and then walked back to the office without bothering to see if i needed help. I was standing at the register, it was obvious i was waiting for someone to see what question i had. When the guy at the register finished checking out the customer, he simply took the papers and also started to walk away. i guess something crossed his mind and he turned back to ask if i needed something. I told him that i have been waiting for 3 hours now and wanted to check on my car. He asked if i was by appointment and i of course i said no. His reply was a laugh at me, smirk and few words "it's probably why" as he walked away. This is beyond believe that someone would be so rude to a customer. Besides the fact that if they didn't want to work on a walk in customer, the first guy should have said so in the first place instead of having me waste 4 hours at the place just to leave frustrated. And if they were so busy to take care of the walk in customer because they are fully booked with appointments, again that should have been said at the beginning before i wasted 4 hours sitting there. I honestly see no reason to come back to any of Town Fair Tire locations after such experience where it is clearly been shown to me that the value of having a customer has no meaning for this company anymore. read more

They wanted to break my lugs off to change my tires, I said hell naw! I work across the street and thought my right left tire was low - possibly a leak from picking up a nail or screw - so I stopped in here just before 5pm on Monday 1/13/20. I didn't want to drive 20 miles up Route 8 to go home and have an issue on the highway. And I mentioned this. The 2 associates working behind the counter were just watching TV - I had to say something to them before they acknowledged me when I walked in. I told them why I stopped in and asked if someone could just look at my tire. No, I have to drop it off and it would be 2-3 hours. Well, this location closes at 6pm so that would have been impossible. Plus, assuming these 2 knew anything about tires, I'm surprised one of them didn't offer to 'look at it quickly'. I do understand about the need to make an appointment, but, I've done this before at this location, a couple years back, and didn't have an issue with a 'quick look'. Not these days. They were more interested in what was on TV. Customer service lacking in a huge way. read more
