When I searched for a park in Weston thru Yelp, I saw this one and noticed it was highly rated. So I decided to check it out. Not only is this park well-maintained and beautiful with foliage, grass, a bridge, a play park for kids, a lake and one of the nicest bathrooms I've ever seen in a park!!! :) But little did I know that this park is also a historical landmark. In school I always hated history because I couldn't relate through a book. Historical landmarks gives you a bit of a visual reality which now makes history more interesting to me. This park holds the history of the Tequesta Indians. Along the walking path you'll see tiles that explain some of the history of the Tequesta Indians. A great park I highly recommend!

There are no shaded areas so plan to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon. However, if you end up here right in the middle of the day, don't worry! Your kids will be excited to cool down at the adjacent water park- also free! In between the city and water park there is a nice mostly shaded playground. This was such a fun place to visit! There is a big mall within a 10 min drive so you can make this a day trip!

Although it's very famous for its off road courses, biking the paved roads of the park is great as well. I've also used the range here, solid. But over the past couple years, we have come out here for the disc golf. It's a great course. Tough holes that feel very makable but still can humble most that play it. There are many other things to include a RC boats and RC planes areas, but whatever you mind come out West by, you are bound to enjoy Markham.

This park has picnic shelters and a playground with shade cover with an adjacent bathroom. The athletic fields are immaculate. They have four baseball/ softball fields, one football field that can also be used for lacrosse with stadium seating, a running track, and two artificial turf fields. There is a concession stand by the fields and more bathrooms. The fields have night lighting so games can be held in the evening. There is even a roller hockey rink. Dogs are allowed at the park as long as they are on a leash no longer than six feet. This is a wonderful park to exercise, participate in or watch a game, or just to take the kids to play.

There are so many different little areas that photograph well, so it's easy to get a lot of variety without having to move around too much. It also feels peaceful and spacious, which makes shoots a lot more comfortable. Another plus is that the entrance fee is really affordable, especially for how pretty the park is. I'd definitely keep this on my list for future outdoor sessions.

The wide open space is great for horses to get a nice ride and to rinse off at the watering areas. The lakes and streams are filled with wild life that is indigenous to the area. Just taking a walk and listening to the sounds of nature is truly calming. On the weekends this county park gets very loud and crowded but because the park is so massive, there is always a place to relax.

The night kicked off with a workshop by Kelli Whitney, the Parks Manager/Naturalist, called "Rules of Attraction: Attracting Moths for a Closer Look." Kelli's presentation was absolutely captivating, her energy and depth of knowledge about moths made the whole session engaging from start to finish. You could tell this is someone who genuinely loves her subject. After the workshop, naturalists set up equipment (lights, sheets, and some clever "potions") to lure moths in for viewing. It was fascinating to see the techniques lepidopterists actually use in the field, and knowing the observations contribute to real research on moth populations in protected areas made it feel meaningful, not just fun. This is a great event for all ages, and I'd recommend it to anyone curious about nature or looking for something a little different to do on a summer evening. I'm already looking forward to the next one!

We were lucky we did not get a single bite by mosquitos, the boat got wet at our feet, but we did not, and the boat is covered so heat was not bad. We saw like 8 alligators, some birds and turtles. There is a shaded paved exercise trail that goes throughout the park and we took a little stroll. Sunny really started perking up as we walked through the park. Besides the exercise path there are benches, a shaded playground, and a covered picnic pavilion. In the center of the park is an open play area and several large ficus trees. At the edge of the park we discovered a community kindness rock garden which encourages you to take a rock and leave one. I love how well maintained and beautifully landscaped the parks are in Weston. I also love that they are dog friendly. Dogs on leashes are always welcome as long as you clean up after yourself with the poo bags they kindly provide. This is just one of the many beautiful parks in Weston that add charm to the city.
