Located in the new developments in West Hialeah, back in the days this used to be prime Urban Exploration heaven & dirt bike trails. There may have even been some abandoned military structures in there. Now that the area is growing with warehouses and new developments (Bonterra, Aquabella, etc) and the NW 170 St bridge connecting with Miami Lakes, the City of Hialeah has converted this donated area into a passive park.
The park is mostly a grassy area where the city's held outdoor movie nights and farmer markets including some night ones (about 1 Friday a month). There are various outdoor weight machines along the 1/2 mile asphalt elliptical track. There are about 6 dedicated parking spaces at the park entrance. If you're adventurous you can continue your runs near the warehouses or seek trails along some of the remaining green areas around.
Oh and if you continue jogging another half mile south from the park there's a cow field! read more
