Check your receipts! How much would you expect to pay for 4 bagels (2 with butter and 2 with cream cheese) and one Snapple and one small apple juice? When my total was $35 I naturally questioned the prices and was told "everything's gone up!" I responded that I only got regular bagels, no eggs or bacon or anything that would cause each bagel to be $7?! I paid and then noticed that I was, in fact, overcharged! They charged me for an extra bagel and a liter of orange juice! How often are they doing this? With so many bagel stores in the area there's no reason to choose Town Bagel. Horrible yelp needs to make a zero star rating. Service was friendly but slow , I waiting almost 10 minutes for a BLT, the store wasn't crowded. I spent $15 for a BLT and a Snapple! The only nice thing I can say was the drink was cold and the mayo was good. The bacon was dry and hard not crunchy but tough like bad beef jerky. The toast was burnt. This is one of those situations where the business does not need to care at all about all these haters - their lines are out the door regardless! Not sure why all the negativity here. This was my first experience with Long Island bagels, and they were delicious! A bit different than the ones I'm used to at my neighborhood shop - in general not as jumbo, but equally chewy, super fresh (you can see them making them in real time in the back), and a great ratio with the cream cheese (it's not as excessive because the bagel itself is smaller). Lines are long on the weekend, but moves quickly and efficiently. People seem nice enough to me, not sure why people complaining about the service. Don't listen to the haters! A question is it normal for a bagel place not to have bagels out when they first open

I don't know what is going on with this place but it seems they can never get orders for pickup straight but today was actually a walk in order that they couldn't get straight.. We come here all the time and my husband goes daily to get his breakfast because he loves the bagels here. If you order sandwiches make sure you check to make sure they are correct The past 3 orders in a row were wrong, missing bacon and given like 3 slices of turkey for a $15 wrap/bagel sandwich. I wouldn't come here anymore if my husband didn't like the bagels so damn much. Today I got my usually honey turkey, bacon and American cheese on a wrap and I went to eat it and it I literally has 4 crumbs of bacon in my wrap. So she knew to put it but then didn't. I have know idea what she did. Save yourself the time and annoyance and go to ivarones if you aren't getting a bagel or better yet, get your bagel bring it to Ivarones and have them make your sandwich. I tried town bagel in Plainview and wanted to try their location in Wantagh. Order the standard plain bagel with cream cheese and a poppy bagel with chicken cutlet and Russian dressing and lettuce. My partner prefers a lightly colored plain bagel when we got the bagel home it was well done and she scooped out the center and couldn't eat the crust as it was too hard. I should've asked to see the bagel before she made it my fault. My sandwich was average. She put too much Russian dressing on it which I had to scrape off and the chicken cutlet she sliced it slices throughout the sandwich not a whole chicken cutlet quite weird luckily she didn't overcook it so except for having too much Russian dressing it was fine. The packaging was a bit substandard where as the salad was separate from the sandwich, not in a container with a slice of pickle a bit underwhelming All in all a standard bagel store that misses its mark from being a four or five star establishment read more

It really blows my mind that there's all these Long Island bagel shops like this one without a single non dairy CC on the menu. I mean, I was able to get tofu cream cheese at bagel shops in Manhattan and Brooklyn for the past 30 years, so I really don't get it. I guess Kashruth (Jewish dietary laws) aren't a thing? Just odd. Ordered a wrap off the menu. "Lite Bite". The guy who barely spoke English had no clue what I was talking about. I pointed up to the board were it's written and either he couldn't read it or still had no clue what it was I was showing him. He then had to ask someone else in Spanish what I was talking about. Village Bagels had a vast cream cheese selection, visually, it's breakfast Baskin Robbins, schmeared not scooped. But I decided my meal earlyish in the parking lot, the same didn't hold true for my buddy who was in a two day bender. Every time we are in Wantagh, since my boyfriend grew up here, we have to hit Town Bagel. While the lines may be long, they truly do have the nicest people working here so it's worth it to come back. It's a Wantagh staple. Their bacon, egg and cheeses are always stuffed with tons of bacon, melty cheese and perfect eggs. There are so many deals that include an iced tea or juice, as well as really good iced coffee. If you have the chance, don't skip the iced tea because it isn't watery like every other place! There's usually plenty of seating so you can stay and enjoy, or take it to go. But even if there is a line, at least you can look at all of the delicious baked goods and vats of cream cheese while you wait! read more

I received a surprise gift of a bakers dozen bagels sent to me on the opposite coast. The bagels traveled over 2,600 miles and when I opened the box, the aroma of the bagels was in the air. Still smelled fresh after sitting sealed gallon storage bags for at least 2 days traveling across the country. Thank you Town Bagel for making such delicious bagels. I got a mixed bag of bagels, cinnamon raisin, egg, poppyseed, sesame, plain, but my favorites are the onion and the pumpernickel bagels. I've prepped them for the freezer will enjoy them over the next few months. I have never been to Town Bagels and can only comment based on what was sent to me (this was only my 2nd delivery) and while the reviews here are very mixed, I am satisfied with the bagels--there's nothing like it where I am, so no complaints from me!! read more

I see a lot of the negative reviews here are about the prices but all bagel shops on Long Island over charge so can't say I'm surprised. Price aside, this spot has some of the best bagels in my opinion. I used to come here a lot as a kid but since moving I haven't been back in 4-5 years & it still lives up to my memories! The bagels are cooked fresh on site (which you have a great view to while waiting on line). If you're heading there on the weekends, be prepared to wait on a long line! However, they have a decent amount of staff working so they try to keep it moving to the best of their abilities. This is my favorite bagle spot that is near me. I always come here because the bagels are delicious and they fill them! I usually get the same thing an everything bagel with creamcheese and loxs. I started calling my order in because it is always busy when I go and it saves some time. Only thing is since it busy it can get crowded very easily and they use to give free macaroni salads, last time I went they didn't offer them. Food is great but they messed up my order. When i went to pay a lady named Lori rang me up and i used apple pay. I was using a specific card on apple pay but i have two of the same. one has nothing on it while the other does. I think these are the best bagels around the area that is flooded with other bagel stores. They stand out for their freshness and quality. Yes their prices are high but you get what you pay for! My favorite is the egg everything with vegetable cream cheese. The bagels are always crispy on the outside yet soft in the middle. This is the place to go if you are looking for slow service, overpriced food, and low quality. I've gone to this place several times out of convenience. However my last visit on 5/30/2020 will be my last. I certainly felt as if my food was overpriced after ordering and paying. I waited about 10 minutes for my order and saw every customer shake their head at the price. More than half the people complained and most of the orders appeared to have some issue. The staff was unhelpful and gave attitudes to anyone who asked for a straw, napkin, or questioned the price. One guy paid $18 for 2 bagels and 2 bottles of Tropicana. I highly highly recommend L&E bagel across the street from Town Bagel. They are reasonably priced and the quality far superior. And if you enjoy Town's salads, just head to Seaqua Deli down the road in Massapequa and pay 25% less. This place is simply not worth wasting your time and money. read more

I don't know why I continue to go there? The service is lousy. The owner is constantly touching the bagels with his bare hands, trying to straighten them out in the baskets. Some staff handle money and do not change their gloves between customers. Last year I contacted the health department and complained about the unsanitary conditions that I had witnessed. They were supposed to send an inspector to advise the owner and staff about proper food handling. I'm not sure if that even happened. Also, today I witnessed many flies landing on the bagels, bialys, etc. This store needs someone from the health department to come in anonymously and observe all that is going on in there. So little cream cheese there wasn't even Enough to cover bagel!!! (Check out the pic)!!! How cheap is this place that they don't even put on enough cream cheese to cover the bagel?!?! Literally had dry bites or even worse, bites of onion and bread only numerous times! This place sucks and the reviews prove it!! You could argue it's due to Covid, inflation blah blah.
