I ran across Boise 4X4, called them and explained the items I needed done, brakes, a broken stud in the block(fuel pump mount) drain the bad gas and rebuild the carb, and lastly an odd noise from underneath that sounded like a bearing going out. They said, no problem we can fix it, so I made an appointment. They mentioned that it would take about a week. This was red flag number one. I grew up working on cars and knew it would be more like 2 to 3 weeks but I figured they were just being optimistic. I dropped my Jeep off on 5/2/2025 at 9:30 AM (I live 1 1/23 hours from their shop). They told me they would update me on any progress. 5/7/2025 I received a text from Boise 4x4 asking for payment for brake parts. Specifically $653.58. This was for a master cylinder and all 4 wheel cylinders. Parts I could get online for about $190. Red flag number two. However I was willing to pay as I didn't really want to do the job myself. 5/22/2025 Since I hadn't gotten an update, I called Boise 4x4 to find out where they were at and was told they needed to order brake shoes. Not sure why they didn't know this when they ordered the other brake parts? New shoes/pads are usually a given when doing a brake job. Red flag number three. They did however mention they had replaced the broken stud and had to remove the drivers front fender to do so. 6/2/2025 Still no updates so I called again. This time I was told they had to order Brake drums. Seriously? Red flag number four. This pattern is starting to look like BS. They did mention they had drained the bad gas and cleaned the carb and it was running a little better. I was inclined to pick up my Jeep at this point but since I was going to be out of town for awhile we agreed on giving then two more weeks. Until 6/16. They promised it would be finished by then, and they were making it their number one priority. 6/13/2025 I called to remind them I was picking up my Jeep the following Monday and was told they had just magically received confirmation the brake drums shipped that morning. What a coincidence. Red flag number five. 6/16/2025 I picked up my Jeep. Boise 4x4 said they were sorry and it had just gotten away from them. No brake parts had been installed, and it was running worse than when I took it to them. On top of that the fender they had removed had a scuff mark and a 2 inch long scratch, down to bare metal. These guys are completely incompetent, and showed little remorse at wasting my time and money. The only saving grace is they didn't charge me for what little they did do and they did refund the cost of the parts ordered but not installed. Side note: For $659.95 I ordered an entire master brake rebuild kit from Vintage Jeep Parts. It includes wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake shoes, springs, and drums. 6 Weeks down the drain...I cannot say it loudly enough, AVOID Boise 4x4 at all costs!

Perfect Fit or Perfect Shit?…read more I've hesitated to make this post, but after today I feel people deserve to know my experience. In November, I had my valve cover gaskets replaced. Less than a year later, I went to change my spark plugs and found a large amount of oil in every spark plug well except two. Now I'm having to replace the valve cover gaskets all over again myself. That's not even the worst part. I also had my entire suspension replaced there in November. Within about a week of driving, one of the struts came up through the wheel well, leaving a huge hole that had to be repaired. On top of that, I later discovered my right front brake caliper wasn't even bolted on. These aren't minor mistakes, they're serious safety issues. If you want a shop that stands behind its work and you want your vehicle repaired safely and correctly, I cannot recommend taking your vehicle here based on my experience. I gave them my trust, and now I'm paying to fix their work myself.

It came out perfect and he does a 2 week checkup on the work to assure it stays perfect. Best of all, Chris is super nice and easy to work with. He communicates very well and is super responsive. We brought our vehicle to In-depth…read moreDetailing just before Christmas last year and were "sold" on their PPF solution as the very best of the best solution to 100% protect our car. Being told it had an industry leading warranty. Spending nearly $3,000 with the understanding that this was the very best product to protect our car and again that it had a phenomenal warranty. Fast forward not 5 months later and there is significant damage to the hood of our car. Going through the PPF and damaging the paint underneath. From what you ask, a rock. The one guaranteed thing we were sold on couldn't damage our car with this PPF. Upon taking the vehicle in to see what they could do. They offered to replace it with a new piece for upwards of $800-$1,000. Stating it wasn't covered under the warranty. Or they could cut out a triangle or square from the hood of the PPF to lay it flat. Thus not fixing the problem, only leaving the hood exposed to more potential damage. I asked why this wouldn't be covered under the warranty we were sold on and was told it just basically is what it is. The warranty ONLY covers manufacturing defects. Meaning it doesn't do a thing once they put it on the car. You're just simply out the money and have to hope damage doesn't occur like we've already experienced. I was referred to speak with STEK themselves who led me down the same rabbit hole of no options without spending even more money and being told I should be grateful for all the damage I can't see since I have this PPF. Frustrating yes. Disappointing even more. Unfortunately we got the short end of the stick and are left with a product that doesn't do what it claims to do. A shop that cannot help come up with a solution that takes care of a customer and what's even worse I have damage to my brand new car. Avoid being scammed like we were. They are phenomenal sales guys. I'll give them that. But when it comes to a problem, they don't stand behind what they sell or install. They quote policy and take no action to try and work with customers to find solutions that are at a minimum of what they are happy to sell you on in the beginning. I would recommend avoiding the shop.

Chris has been in business since Garden City was a little seedier. They are OG Idaho residents. I called, asked for a quote for the interior of my car and I got a quick response. I booked it for 10 days down the road and took it in. My 4Runner headliner was A MESS from dust, water and who knows what being sucked in through the back window. Headliner looks great, carpet restored to new, vinyl looks amazing, and the tired leather has it's original luster. Go see Chris and his team, they did a fantastic job. He even offered me a ride home when I thought I'd have to use Uber, so I added a little "thank you" to his fee.
