My husband has a torn rotator cuff, he went to a Sports Medicine Clinic. He had an x-ray at the office and then his Dr. asked us to pick from a printed list for an MRI. This imaging group called, an appt was scheduled a week later. Then they called the day before the appt and said the appt had not bee approved yet and that he could reschedule or pay for the MRI the next day. I contacted the insurance co. and they said I could reschedule or pay. He was in such pain he paid for the MRI and told the receptionist that I would turn in the claim. At no time did they say that this could be denied. I thought I could just turn in the claim information from Touchstone about the MRI and this would count towards my deductible. I was wrong. He had to wait an extra hour and a half because of equipment problems at Touchstone. The results from the MRI reading were paid through the Dr. office. The reading indicated he needed surgery to regain use of his shoulder. The Dr. scheduled surgery, ordered bloodwork and an EKG. He went for a previously scheduled physical the following week. Meanwhile I turned in the claim for the MRI to our insurance company. The insurance wanted to know more and confirm the surgical procedure prior to authorization, so the Dr. met with the insurance company to discuss the surgery and it was approved using the MRI (that insurance denied) and its results. Then the insurance denied my claim stating that they needed more information from Touchstone. Touchstone won't send the insurance anything because I paid for it. What a mess. I went to touchstone because many family members have used it due to location. Never again. read more

Our healthcare system is in need of a complete overhaul and if you need an example look no further than Touchstone Imaging. I was scheduled for a procedure on Tuesday. Monday night the office called and cancelled because they don't have the required equipment. I called the scheduler again and they scheduled me at another location. Right before the appointment the office called and canceled because they don't have the required equipment. I called again and asked them to double check that they locations have the required equipment and they found one an hour from my house, I verified the address and asked if they would send me a text with the address. When I showed up (after I had called 5 times to let them know I would be 5 minutes late and their pre check in app couldn't find me) I was informed, they do not have the required equipment and the other Dallas location does but they don't have anything available this week. In addition to this I received SEVERAL reminder texts about appointments that Touchstone cancelled. Each location quoted me a different price that kept getting larger and larger. I personally work in the healthcare industry so I am not disillusioned that there isn't a widespread problem across our country and that it's simply impossible these days to hire good, honest, competent people but this is absolutely ridiculous. Management needs an overhaul based off of these comments. You're dealing with potentially VERY sick people and this is not the way to run a business. read more

My doctors referral coordinator sent an order to Touchstone. It was for a CT MYLO CSPINE. When I called Touchstone to schedule (after they sent me a text) they tried to schedule me for a CT CSPINE W/O CONTRAST. Obviously, that's the wrong exam. If I didn't catch this, they would have done the wrong exam on me and billed my insurance and I would have to go through the process all over again. That's BAD PATIENT CARE. I request that the referral coordinator send my order to Northstar. I have no confidence or trust in Touchstone. They get one star and a bad Google review. read more

You have to pay for parking and they don't validate. They also took forever which made parking that much more expensive.

Do Not Trust this company. They will set you up with an appointment and when you arrive, they will tell you they are short staffed, and you will have to reschedule. This happened to me twice. I finally called my doctor's office and told them about it. They said they no longer recommend going there. read more

This facility has a very nice and patient staff that was super sweet to someone like me who fears the MRI machine as though it were a big giant alligator, mouth wide open, waiting to devour me whole. LOL! Yeah, that's how I feel about MRI machines. The MRI techs bent over backward to make me feel comfortable. I was placed in the "wider" machine. I was given headphones with my choice of music (I picked meditation music), and a towel placed over my eyes to further keep me from freaking out while in the belly of the beast. This was the first time I've made it through an MRI :-) Oh & I asked lots of questions.....all of which were very politely answered. Front staff is also very professional. Hopefully, I will never need a MRI again, but if I do, I'm coming back here! read more

If I could give Zero I would: Where do I begin... absolutely the worst medical diagnostic facility, I've ever been, and I've been to many. The staff are pleasant, nothing personal against them but zero transparency with billing. I came in for 3 MRI's and 3 CT scans. I showed up and they told me my bill was 1200$ even at 90% co-insurance. There was no heads up to what I'd be responsible for just put on the spot about what I needed to pay. This unethical tactic is like pointing a gun at someone's head. They were billing my insurance almost 8 grand for 2 hours of work. I believe they were overcharging. The tech and the receptionist were nice and kind but there business practices are totally unethical. When I was called to book, I was shocked that it was not an open MRI as I have ankylosing spondylitis and permanently lean forward. Instead of doing the ethical thing and saying maybe try another facility, the man I spoke to on the phone lied and said it was a large MRI. High deceptive. If I know the exorbitant amount the wanted upfront in advance and that this medical device wouldn't be appropriate, I would have gone somewhere else. Do no go to this clinic. There is much better out there that are transparent, fair and ethical. read more

My experience scheduling and completing the exam was good. But since that time I have found out that Touchstone did not get the required pre-authorization from my insurance TRICARE. I am now being billed by Touchstone for over $800.00 that would have otherwise been covered. I have called billing and scheduling multiple times with a representative in scheduling admitting that the pre authorization was not obtained as she was unable to provide me the authorization number that TRICARE would have provided. I am beyond frustrated with billing and scheduling as no one will assist with correcting this error or at least putting the bill on hold until a retroactive authorization from TRICARE can be obtained. I have requested multiple times a call from supervisors at scheduling and billing to no avail. At this time I would not recommend this facility. But if you do use be sure the provide the authorization number prior to completing the appointment as talking to anyone to correct the issue is extremely difficult. read more

Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or MRI. When they call to schedule you for one of these, the first question they ask isn't, "when can you come in?". No, instead it is, "are you claustrophobic?". uh, no. But OY that is a cramped space--and not cramped like you're trying to get to the bar top at the Loon -- cramped like you're in a coffin 4 sizes too small! Felt like James Bond in "Diamonds are Forever", trying to figure out how to get out of the thing, or what would happen if the technician suddenly decided he didn't like his job any more and just walked out. I should take this moment to point out that the staff really is top notch; but the procedure is simply what it is - cramped and slow. Other than the spacious accommodations (shoulders and arms scraped the walls the whole way in), my favorite part was the jet-db shiatsu massage. No, wait I think that was the constant shaking and hammering of the machine as a magnetic field was created and radio waves pelted my lumbar. Awesome. Luckily I was only in there for 35 minutes.... So be sure to schedule your today -- grab a group of friends, hit the Loon and then head over for a group scan! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I got an MRI on my foot here last month, was told by the employee that my insurance would fully cover the cost and that I wouldn't owe anything, then a week later I received a bill for over $600. I called to work the issue out and was treated extremely rudely by their billing department guy who even asked me the question, "Well why didn't you question her when she told you it would be free? Didn't that seem suspicious?" I couldn't believe he said this - it's not my job to question what their own business tells me! I ended up having to pay the $600 because of fine print in the documentation I signed that basically says you have to pay the end cost even if they mess up on the initial quote. This was THE WORST experience I've ever had with any business, and I had to practically force the guy to apologize to me for how rude he was and for the mistake they made. Do. Not. Go. Here. I went to this place to have an MRI done several months ago. Then recently (aka 4 months later) They decide to call for an immediate collection of money that wasn't paid by the insurance company . I never received a bill (an still don't have one, mind you) and somehow I'm expected to just have money laying around to pay over the phone for a statement I don't even have? Uncalled for. Send me a bill, and give me 30 days or a reasonable amount of time to pay--like any other business does. I have not been sent to collections, but the threat to be sent when I haven't even received a bill is out of order and not good business. I would steer clear of this place unless you are certain that all of your expenses are covered by insurance, pay cash up front, or stay in on them about the bill. read more

I broke my foot and required an MRI, was sent here. I walked in and there was a lady sitting at the front desk just staring at me, waiting to be approached/talked to, she rudely gave me this look (picture some bratty 16 year old) that said, "What do you want?" I was so taken back by this that I responded, "How can I help you?" A grunt and a glare is not welcoming whatsoever. I was taken back almost immediately for my MRI when I was asked a bunch of rather disturbing questions...like is my foot broken and why do I need an MRI. I mean, the doctor tell you anything? My profession is not even remotely related to the medical field so super glad you are taking my word for it. The girl was so hard to hear, when I asked her to repeat herself she made no attempt to be louder or clearer. She also gave me a lot of attitude like I was going to mess up the test giving me example after example of what would "cause us to be here longer." I am capable of not wiggling my toes for 30 minutes, thanks. She had no regard for broken foot...took my crutches away I had to hop to the table...not really wanting to hurt the other foot by doing this too often. She proceeded to jam it into her little contraption causing more pain. I went because I was sent there, I guess it saved me money but it was still expensive. Another positive is the guy who handled the scheduling was super awesome and friendly...if only he could replace the other two. read more

Close your eyes and imagine a burning hot spike stuck into your lower back. Every flinch spikes the pain frequency beyond your tolerance. I woke up like that! My wife sent me to Dr Lynne. Dr. Lynne Refered me to the American Health Imagining for Immediate X-ray and an MRI. The techs were courteous, personable, professional and sincerely attentive. I spoke with manager Scotty about the wonderful treatment the techs were administering to me. I really appreciate positive synergy establish by Scotty and practiced by the X-ray and MRI technicians. The attention helped offset all the negative bumps I encounter at the American Health Imagining front office. read more

Three months later, they sent me $600 bill!!!! I called the manager, he threatened me that he would call the policy if I went to their office. WTF???? They have worked with my SO and I to make his MRI affordable for us when other hospital facilities demanded an insane amount of money up front . So much better than going to a hospital even as an outpatient to do an MRI -- hospitals charge up to double the amount American Health does, and I can tell you that I'm not interested in paying more for an MRI to be done on the exact same machine and interpreted by the exact same radiologists as major hospitals in Dallas. Great customer service in our experience and I would highly recommend. read more

Arrived an hour before the scheduled time and was able to start my MRI 30 minutes early. Quick response time from radiologist. Upon returning for my disc, I requested a second for an additional doctor. I was informed it would be $25 for the second and decided I would wait to see if the doctor needed to keep one. When asking if I could have the parking validated, I was rudely responded with, "Since you didn't pay for a disc, we refuse to validate your parking." Extremely unsatisfactory customer service, but the MRI went without hiccup. read more

Excellent imaging service. American Health Imaging worked my mom in on the same day we were visiting another doctor in the same building. My mom was a new patient on the day of her test. Shanda, the front office manager is so efficient and friendly. Shanda really made the process easy and her friendliness was a nice surprise. The CT technician was very friendly as well. The technician took plenty of time to listen and answer questions. The waiting room was a little cool, but it is because there is nothing protecting the front door from the cold weather outside and there is a draft blowing through the gap between the glass. The waiting room is large with plenty of seating and very well maintained. The bathrooms are very clean here. That also was a surprise and VERY much appreciated. There is a parking fee to park in the garage and it is tired based on the amount of time, starting at $3.50 for up to 60 minutes and goes up from there. If one needs an MRI or a CT, then I definitely recommend American Health Imaging. read more

Called ahead to get an estimate for an MRI, I questioned her to be sure that it included my deductible etc, she assured me it did, I had it done. Six weeks later I get a bill for a very large amount. I called and tried to work something out and after six weeks of talking to different people...nothing. They would not take any responsibility for their mistake. Also, The person who brought me back to get prepped for contrast etc., was rude and in a hurry. He did not allow me ample time to get comfortable. When he was putting in my I.V. he stuck me three times before he got it right and blamed me for having bad veins???? Really??? I must say that the Tech was good, however, I will never step foot in this facility again. read more

I would not use this establishment again, ever. Completely incompetent, unprofessional and a very poor bedside manner (if its called that.) My nurse called on Thursday (April 18) to schedule an appointment for an MRI and the first available time was at 7:00 PM on Friday evening. I was happy to take this. My foot has been in pain for almost 5-weeks. This timing was completely fine with me. At 5:00 on April 18, I received a call from Carrie who said that she was calling because it looked like the "new person" hadn't called to inform of the $500 deductible. Carrie immediately wanted to know if I wanted to cancel my appointment. I told her I didn't think that was right and she was frustrated when I questioned her. I remained very calm and friendly. I told her again that I was certain that I did not have a deductible for "in network" imaging. I told her that I was calling the insurance company immediately as I was not going to pay $500. As soon as we hung-up, I called the insurance company. They confirmed what I thought, my total out of pocket for the scan would be $53 (approx). I called Carrie back in about 5-7 minutes. When I called Carrie back in less than 7-minutes, she told me she was right and that I needed to call my insurance again and speak with a supervisor. Carrie went so far as to give me her Tax ID number so that Aetna could look it up and confirm that they were in network. Once again, Aetna could not see ANY REASON why Carrie was saying that I needed to pay $500. I didn't want to cancel my appointment. The doctor has asked me not to take an anti-inflammatory so that we could get a good read with the MRI. This had caused a lot of pain all day long and now Carrie was canceling my appointment. I called Carrie back. It has now been less than 25 minutes since Carrie called me. Carrie again listened to me, but said I was wrong, I asked her to call Aetna again for herself. She had previously told me she has called them and double-checked all the paperwork. Within seconds of her looking over the paperwork per my request, she says. "Oh yea, this is covered. You don't have a deductible. Sooo sorry, I guess I missed that. But you know what, I have let the Tech go home. But I can reschedule you for a later date." WOW, the first appointment available was at 7:00 PM on Friday night, it was 5:30 and there were no other appointments in the building between 5:30 and 7:00? Really?! I can only assume that the previous appointment had cancelled and the Tech did not want to wait or had an important date. Who knows, but the entire issue feels completely fabricated. I question her ability to do her job if she cannot read insurance policies correctly or communicate effectively with them. I wish it had stopped there. Carrie scheduled me for 8:30 Saturday morning. I showed-up and Shannon was extremely helpful and nice. I waited 20 mins and was taken back to the MRI tech. The tech started leading me to the changing area/room and was speaking so fast, I couldn't understand a thing she was saying. She pointed a the closet with the key and the last thing I heard was, "you can leave your sox on...I'll be back to get you in a second." So, I changed into the scrubs and locked-up my items. The tech came back into the room where she looked at me and said very rudely, "I didn't tell you to change". I explained to her that I could barely understand her as she was speaking so fast. I laughed it off. I climbed up on the table (still in scrubs) and she placed the boot on my foot. As she packed the boot, I groaned in pain, but I understand that the foot needs to be stile so I sucked it up. Again, I am still not taking painkillers or anti-inflammatories. The first part of the MRI was fine, until I we came to the point the tech needed to insert the contrast. The tech put in the needle and pushed in the saline, then we waited for a few minutes as she walked back and forth out of the room. She did this twice before saying it would be just a couple of more minutes that she is just waiting for the doctor. Again, she paced in and out of the room and after 10 minutes, she says, "Okay, he is in the parking garage..." and then pushes the contrast material into my arm. First, I had to wait for 10 minutes with a needle uncomfortably in my arm and second, the doctor wasn't even in the building when she injected me. Really? I am supposed to feel like this is a professional establishment? Finally the MRI is complete and she unlocks the boot and yanks it off my foot shooting terrible pain through my foot. I assume she knew I was in pain when told her that it hurt in the beginning and after all, I was in there for an MRI. Something must be wrong with my foot... The entire experience with the exception of Shannon was horrible. It felt like a Discount MRI with poorly trained staff. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I was just there for a cat scan with intravenous dye. Mr. Z was my technician. This is the third test of this type that I have experienced. After completing the paperwork I was met and taken into the machine room by Mr. Z. Mr.. Z was so nice to me and very patient with this senior citizen, I did not even feel the IV being inserted! Mr. Z is so experienced and efficient. We were finished and I was on my way right on time. Mr. Z is the best technician I ever had! read more

I have had several MRI's at A.H.I and they have the best staff around. Quick and efficient,early morning, evening, and weekend hours to fit your schedule and WAY more affordable than any hospital around. Michael is one of their techs and he is fantastic. Makes sure you are as comfortable as possible in the tight space and was so great the 1st time, I made sure to schedule each of my follow up MRI's when he was there. That's how great/professional he is. Brad and Carrie are also awesome. Whatever your MRI needs, the professional, courteous staff at AHI will take great care of you. Had an MRI performed at 712 Washington St, Dallas facility. Female, middle-aged technician was inconsiderate and unprofessional. She marked the area that was to be scanned with a duck sauce packet from a chinese restaurant. She called me a baby several times when I told her I was afraid of needles and when I began to panic she made excuses for not being able to find a vein to inject contrast fluid. She originally told me the procedure would take 1 hour, 15 minutes but then told me it would take twice as long because of "my anatomy." (I am obese.) She told me 10 to 20 minutes into the procedure she did not think she could resolve an image of the area, but would continue the scan anyway. When I told her was in pain from lying prone so long (a total of 3 hours) with no support pillow (she denied it to me when I asked for one), she told me I shouldn't get up because that would make the procedure take even longer. The entire appointment took 5 hours, including 1 hour in the waiting room because the staff was behind schedule and 45 minutes waiting for a CD of the MRI images. A different technician told me it took this long because "the equipment is old." I will not recommend this facility, nor will I ever return here for any procedure. The technician should have stopped the scan when she realized she couldn't resolve an image. I expect the cost of my procedure to be credited to me. read more
