I just had my first CT scan & didn't know what it was or what I would be doing. The staff at Touchstone were so nice, friendly, supportive and guided me through the CT Scan. They showed they cared about me as a patient and helped allay my anxiety by being professional & caring throughout the process. Having any type of medical test is scary and they helped me get through it without being too freaked out. Thank you to the Staff of Touchstone Imaging for helping me ( a complete needle-aphobe) get through an IV with contrast. Y'all are the best! read more

Do not use these services. First of all I was scheduled for services, and my technician ignored my service and left. I sat in the lobby for an hour before I asked the front desk person why I was still sitting there when everyone else had already been helped. When she looked into it, she found out my tech had left. I felt really undervalued, especially because I took personal time off work to come get the service. Their process is very poor. Even the fact that the front desk is not empowered to determine why someone like me sat there for an hour without help. Additionally, even though I paid for my service at the time of my service, I still received a bill for service. It was very confusing, and I had to spend time going through my paperwork to confirm I had already paid for this service. I had to use my lunch hour to call Touchstone to explain that I had already paid for this service. This is an inefficient process, and I had to use my time and rework. Neither of these had anything to do with inappropriate staff or lack of equipment or lack of resources. It all has to do with poor process and poor technology. Do not use this company. read more

The admin staff is inept. They provide false information to patients, the doctor's office, and don't follow directions. My doctor ordered stat scans, they entered the information incorrect which caused issues with insurance, then continued to give my doctor's office wrong information about the status of the claim and test. It took me being the liaison between the imaging center and the insurance (literally two phones and one office on each phone) to find out Touchstone hadn't submitted things correctly or at all. The excuses and the non-care were appalling. Even the doctor's office apologized for Touchstone's incompetence. Fast forward a week. I called to ask for a disk of the scans. I confirmed no less than five times with the person of the phone what scan I needed. I was given the wrong scan. I had to go back in and wait for the correct one. Again, the ineptness or possibly just a lack of care for quality, either way, I hope to never use this location again. read more

Horrendous Experience with Touchstone Imaging McKinney (Scammer & frauds) :- I was referred for an ultrasound by my doctor and called Touchstone Imaging McKinney beforehand to inquire about costs. They quoted me $500 with insurance and on asking how much will it be without insurance they quoted $240. I decided to proceed without insurance. On the day of my appointment, the front desk staff informed me that I had been given incorrect information and that my total would only be $40. when asked, she assured me multiple times that this was the final amount and that I would not receive any additional bills. (no where in the conversation they said it's an estimate & assured me I will not have to pay any additional amount later). However, just a few days later, I received a bill for $460. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, especially since I had confirmed the cost multiple times before the appointment & I was ready to pay $240. It feels like they are trying to cheat patients by misleading them and encouraging them to go through insurance, which is how they really make their money. This practice is unacceptable. They cheat & are big frauds & have trained their front office staff well to commit it. read more

Touchstone called and said We were told everything was all set for the CT scan and told of a $400 deductible. The prior authorization through insurance had been approved. I use Cigna app and say it should be a $35 copay. I called Cigna to confirm and they said no paperwork had even been filed and a prior authorization was needed. The copay would be $35 if everything was done properly. We went to the appt and the front desk lady was incredibly indifferent to my concerns and kept repeating the authorization was in place. I had Cigna on speaker and told her it wasn't even filed. She gave me the wrong cpt code than the correct one which still pulled needing an authorization. We ended up leaving without the ct being done and calling the touchstone billing department who said she ran it through her insurance software and the cpt code she used said no pre authorization was required. I told her it is. She kept calling me sweetie which I found very infuriating. I told her with all due respect she's not the one who's going to have to end up paying this bill and if Cigna says a pre authorization is required - than we need it. The woman also told us it was now $650 instead of the $400 she quoted the day before. We are going to use a different imaging place but now my husband is delayed in getting his much needed ct scan by another 2 weeks. I am frustrated at the lying. The deceit. And lack of competency by staff. This is fraud in my eyes as they told me everything was approved when it wasn't. read more

I had an ultrasound done last week and I still don't have the results. this is frustrating because normally if I went to Baylor or envision they would have it ready within 30 minutes. so I am left with more anxiety, when I could just get the image and know if I'm ok! I had imaging done at Baylor last week and they had the results within an hour. if you're anxious about your results and need answers to help your anxiety, I would not recommend this place. read more

Horrible! I went to the Plano location and the front desk rep was rude abrupt and short mannered. I received a bill and the billing department proceeds to extort money from me when both my insurances have PAID the balance. I am now threatened with collections and being sent to the credit agencies. I have spoken to both billing reps and the 1st rep (Mike) hung up on me when I tried to explain both my insurances paid what was billed to them. The 2nd rep (Alessandra) was not helpful. I had to beg to resend the claim to my secondary insurance. I strongly urge you to reconsider this business across all locations. read more

Facility wasvery responsive to me getting an MRI from a referral doctor. However after the MRI I waas told that my insurance didn't cover the proceedure. I asked if I could pay the cash amount and never received an answer. Then my account was sent to collections for the full amount. I have tried to settle with the collection agency however they say BTDI Touchstone won't take any less than $1500. Kind of odd since a cash cost for the MRI is $1,030.00. So I am getting jerked around. Be careful and know what your insurance coverage is before getting a proceedure. read more

This imaging center is affiliated with several locations and one contact "call center". Attempting to reach a "live" person is nearly impossible. Always voice mail. Regarding insurance coverage, they rely on an online verification process and will not call insurance providers directly. Wanted over $1000 for an MRI that I verified was 100% covered. Maybe the personnel work from home. I will file a grievance with the A.G.'s office in Austin. It might be best to have a Dr. recommend more options. read more

Run. Run far. I was referred to this location for an MRI and it has been the biggest headache of 2020, even with all the stuff going on now. First off, make sure they run your procedure through your insurance. Don't trust that they'll do it or you'll be stuck with a +$1500 bill and the assumption that "oh, you probably haven't met your deductible yet." No, it's because you never ran my insurance, that I gave you, a week before my appointment. Not only will they rip you off, but it'll take 2 months and over 20 phone calls to get it resolved. They dropped the ball, someone even admitted they made a mistake, and yet Touchstone Imaging insisted I go through hell before they "graciously" decide to give me back my money that they wrongfully took in the first place. If you check the BBB or read other reviews (the ones on Google, for instance), you'll see that this is not the first time they've scammed people in this manner. Do your research and stay away from these liars and thieves. The only thing they have going for them is that they're open on the weekends, the staff is friendly for the most part, and the MRI scan wasn't a painfully boring process. Outside of that, expect to not be seen on time (it was ~45 minutes after my appointment's start time before I was finally called), expect a headache when dealing with the billing department, and don't trust that they ran your insurance. AVOID Incredibly slow and disorganized. They scheduled me for 1:30p. Got here 1:10p and was told they scheduled it for Mesquite instead by accident, but they could see me at 3:30p. We hung around town since it's 30m from home and we're back at 3:20p. Here we are going on 5p and still have not been seen. It's ankle x-rays, not rocket science. Spoke with the doctor who happened to also mention they have been having a Lloyd of trouble with Touchstone. My doctor sent me here for an x-ray. I walked in yesterday at about 11:40 am and I was told that the x-ray technician (singular) was busy doing a lengthy test, and they wouldn't be doing any more x-rays until 1:30 or 2. Can I make an appointment to come back? No, we don't take appointments. How late are you open? 5 p.m (the sign outside the door says 8 p.m.) I went back today at about 11:55 am. I was told that the wait for an x-ray would be about an hour or more because they had people waiting and the x-ray technician will be going to lunch at 12:30 Some questions. Why do you only have one x-ray technician in this location when you are obviously marketing your services to the physicians at Baylor McKinney? Since you can't keep up with demand, you should not be trying to sell your services to local physicians. Why would you schedule a lengthy test that would tie up your one x-ray technician in the middle of the day when people are walking in? Why would you not allow appointments to be scheduled in order to facilitate easy walk in for people who have to get back to work? That might actually look like good customer service and you can't have that. Never. Again. read more

I made an appointment for an MRI and CT scan. Initially, the CT scan wasn't approved by my insurance, so I had to reschedule both to have them done at the same time. The day before the scheduled appointment, I received a message that the CT scan still hadn't been approved. A few hours later, they called to confirm my appointment. I asked if the CT scan had been approved and they said that it had. When I showed up for my appointment, they told me the CT wasn't approved. I walked. I had another encounter with Touchstone in Richardson, where they told me one quote for a copay over the phone and then a higher price when I showed up for the MRI. Ended up getting a much lower copay price at RAYUS, who performed the service without issue. Never, ever going back to Touchstone! read more

We have a high deductible plan with health savings account that pays provider directly. They made us pay upfront billed insurance and got double paid. I had to call for a refund- there is federal laws in place to prevent this but they don't seem to care about keeping your money. Can not comment on quality of care but I would be weary on the financial side. read more

Touchstone Imaging is dishonest and unethical. They will tell you they pre-authorized your insurance and their services are IN NETWORK (co-pay is $xx) when in fact NONE OF THAT IS TRUE. You have no reason to doubt them so you proceed with your tests. Then you receive the insurance EOB that shows Touchstone Imaging is OUT OF NETWORK and the billing issues begin. (How Touchstone Imaging locations can show as IN network on your insurance company's website but later show the opposite is beyond me.) Believing the billing is a simple mistake, you contact Touchstone Imaging requesting they resubmit the bill so it's paid IN network. They agree to resubmit but don't; I'm guessing because they KNOW they're not in network. You continue to make every effort to resolve the billing issues through repeated telephone calls to them. Because the last person you spoke with told you they'd take care of it BUT DIDN'T, the next call you make is escalated to someone within Touchstone Imaging whom you believe has more authority to help you resolve your issue. Every single person you speak with tells you over and over it's being taken care of but it NEVER IS. Ultimately, you end up paying the EXHORBITANT balance shown by Touchstone Imaging because they turned you over to a COLLECTION agency. We will NEVER, EVER use Touchstone Imaging again. My suggestion? Look for a different imaging provider. TOUCHSTONE IMAGING IS NOT REPUTABLE. read more

I am rating Touchstone Imaging as a whole. The McKinney location was just ok in terms of the technician, front desk, and wait time. However, the technician somehow misunderstood my explanation for the injury and I was not able to tell whether her interpretation of the imaging results influenced her diagnosis. The billing department for Touchstone is horrendous! Never pay the estimate in full. Pay only the minimum you can. Getting reimbursed is a very slow process. For this reason, I do not recommend. read more

Poor office management and dishonest billing: I have a few reasons for my one star review. First, I get a call the day before my appointment on Dec. 27 that their systems are down so they would need to reschedule my appointment and would call me to do so. Fine, not a huge deal. A week goes by, no call. I call and leave several messages and finally hear back that their systems are still down. but they have my message and will call when they are back up. Never hear anything (honestly now I think they just wanted to take the week of New Years off). So two weeks go by and they are back to scheduling appointments, so I am able to get one a couple of weeks later. No apology or explanation as to why they didn't follow up like they said multiple times. Fast forward to the scan. It was fine, I was able to get headphones to drown the noise, but no offer of music, etc. My biggest complaint is now with billing. I was quoted an amount that I would have to pay in a voicemail before my original appointment. That same amount was quoted again when they called to confirm my rescheduled appointment. That same amount was quoted when I checked in and paid. Now a month later, I get a bill from them for MORE money since they added another line item to bill my insurance for in addition to the charges from my original quote. Why didn't they know of this the THREE times they quoted me an amount? Now they are saying I have to take it up with my insurance company. Way to make them look like the crooked ones when it's really Touchstone being crooked and/or incompetent. My doctor recommended them, but will not go here again and will recommend that their large medical practice not recommend Touchstone to anyone. The last complaint is that they have no portal to view images, etc. and wanted a CD of my old images (who has CD drives anymore?!) I will go back to the other imaging place that is only a block away, has a portal, tells you the exact price up front, and has knowledgeable and competent employees next time and will recommend the other place to the family practice office as well. read more

Have always like touchstone imaging until the last two times I bought my 90 year old mother in for hip exrays. Waited 1 1/2 hour the last time even though I called and asked how busy it was. This time I brought her at 1 thinking lunch hr would be over. Checked in and was told the technician was finishing up and would be going to lunch late. They told me to come back at 2:15 and we would be first on the list. Came back and waited another half hour before going to the desk and asking what was going on. They went to check and said the technician left later for lunch and would be another 15 minutes. They didn't even know she was gone. 3 people at the front desk can't keep track of 1 technician. Local oncologist scheduled multiple myeloma treatment critical MRI's with Touchtone. After arriving, I was told Medicare and Tricare would not pay for MRI's and I had to pay for them up front at a significantly increased rate over their normal insurance reimbursement rate. Touchstone refused to contact Medicare or Tricare while I was there (they have never refused to pay for any of my myeloma related MRI's, including a previous one at Touchstone. I was basically told to pay up or go elsewhere. I cancelled all four of the MRI's, lost at least an hour of my time, and rescheduled at UT Southwestern where there are no Medicare / Tricare insurance payment issues. I later tried to talk to the Office Manager (at the facility on 380 across from Baylor Hospital), but was told she was at one of their other offices. When I called there, I was told she wasn't there that day, but was scheduled to be at the facility on 380. I left a message outlining the situation and requesting a call back. The office manager never had the courtesy to call back. Do not intend to use Touchstone again. read more
