I went in 7/13/19 with my friend. This place is mediocre. As an African American we all know they talk about us. They were no different. The lady was rough. I said ouch way to many times during my manicure. Not a large enough selection of regular polish because they really want you to pay for gel. You can feel them rushing to make more money on the next client. PEDICURE-My God. I didn't see the foot tub get disinfected after the previous person was done. All they do is put the water and dead skin from the last person and place a new bag over that filthy tub. God forbid there was a whole in the bag well that's nasty ass toe jam water from someone else on your feet. SPA pedicure what the fuck. It's really a few squirts of dish soap no It was dollar store hand soap. They don't like "US" just our money. We are fools. I'm done. My money is hard earned. I'm supporting black owned. Stop letting them put dish or hand soap on our feet. You know good and well you don't wash your own body with that. Go somewhere else. read more

I've been coming to this establishment BEFORE it was a nail shop and after that, I had been coming BEFORE the current owner, Tina, was the owner of the first nail shop; thats about 10+ years! I worked not too far from this shop and I typically spoke to the employees quite often. Never have I or my co-workers given them grief or disrespect. But the last 2 occasions have proved to me that I should never come back here. Here are 4 reasons I will never return: - 1. Staff is rude and impatient. I came on a Sunday afternoon for a gel mani and regular pedi. It wasn't too packed (which was great as this place packs up from the minute it opens). I tried to find a nail polish color but the tech was in a rush and directed me to have a seat in the uncomfortable massage chair. She then told me we would find a color afterward. I wanted to use an organic, vegan-friendly gel polish on my hands. This salon offers the "Bioseaweed" brand but they have a very limited selection. For my toes, I wanted a color that was close to the gel selection and also the closest to organic as possible. The tech was really rude about helping me find a match; By rude, I mean huffing, attitude, and sitting down when I asked for help. Eventually, I found something and opted not to let her do my gel mani. The next person to attempt to do my gel mani was a brolic chick with red hair. I had her do my nails on the last visit and she is rough and rude. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and I sat down. I asked her how much a specific design was. She asked about 2 other people what the price was, but could never tell me a straight forward answer. I kept asking her how much is it? is that the full price or per finger? she keeps saying, "I don't know because its acrylic...", all the while she continues doing my nails. After awhile, I calmly told her to stop and I took my hand away. She rudely slammed her nail kit on the table, packed up her stuff, and walked away from me, speaking in her language. She and the first tech start to go back and forth talking about me and snickering. Thats how they treat their customers here. After shouting about the rude service and then speaking to someone in charge, I was paired up with another tech who listened to my requests and did a beautiful job. Was it good enough for me to return? hell no. - 2. Their idea of pedicure bath salts/soaks are hand soap - seriously? - 3. Only disposable item I saw being used was the foot pumice. Dirty towels used. I don't know what they use to disinfect the foot basin either, so beware! - 4. They have a limited selection on regular nail polish. If you find a color that is gel, they will charge you $2 to use it as a regular polish (cheap AF!). So there you have it. Will I be returning? hell no. Will I be recommending to others? hell no. Should you go? hell no. read more

I hate that I even have to write this.. I booked an appointment with Leanne today since I've gone to her before and she did a wonderful job on my nails but whew, the behavior from her today was disgusting. She starts off by pointing out the woman next to me was getting a gel builder set and asked if it was nice to which I reply yeah it's okay... she begins to start my nails and proceeds to start a gel builder set although when I sat down I said I wanted acrylic? I stopped her and said is this gel? She replies "yes". I let her know that I didn't agree to gel, she tells me that I said yes when she asked if I wanted gel - I reiterated to her that i never said that and to remove the gel. She immediately gets an attitude, says something to her coworkers in her language and starts grilling me. Her body language towards me switched up so fast because I didn't want something that she wanted to do. Fast forward to her applying the acrylic, she filed my natural nails so thin that the acrylic started burning as she applied. I'm telling her it burns and it hurts and she has the audacity to laugh and say "you should have done the gel instead" excuse me? I'm heated at this point that I wanted to leave. I'm not the type to make a scene at a salon so I'm like whatever, finish it and paint it white whatever gets me out of here fast. She then proceeds to complain that if I was getting plain white nails I should have done the gel, once again starts talking to her coworkers about me because I'm catching the side eyes from the women she's talking to and I'm reading their body language. I shouldn't have to repeat myself more than once that I don't want a specific type of service - I ended up settling for a plain nail set that I'm not crazy about because I just wanted to get out of her chair. She also ended the service by cutting my nail bed right from under the nail causing me to bleed because she wanted to be fast and cut off excess color off my skin, didn't offer any antiseptic spray or some type of antibacterial wipe to clean my finger. They do lovely nails there so I will absolutely will be back just not to Leanne. read more

Came in for a regular mani pedi...Awful staff!!!!!! They are so incredibly rude and make you feel like they're doing you a favor by providing you a service. I got here at 6:30 didn't get seated until 6:45 eve though there were 3 staff members on their phones or standing around having conversations. I finally sat down for my pedicure and the rude staff member doing the pedicure of the person next to me stopped what she was doing to point at something in my toe & talk about it in Chinese ?? I don't have the best feet but there was nothing to point at and even if there was please don't thanks. So after my pedicure, the guy was telling me to sit and dry and I said I want a manicure too -- which lead to a very in depth Chinese conversation shouted across the store and someone had to come over and look at the nail polish color I chose as if that was a deciding factor whether or not they would do the manicure (??) finally they permitted me a seat and the guy started to Slowly do the manicure - I asked for rounded edges, and these suckers are pointed enough to open an envelope :-/ i asked him to round them out and he had no clue what I was saying. He also was using a very coarse nail file on my natural nails which I asked if he could use something finer, which just caused a long blank stare. Annoying. Now I should mention at this point it is 8:15 already - an hour and 45 minutes in and all of the staff gathered in the back of the store to loudly play a card game and ILLEGALLY GAMBLE FOR MONEY. Extremely poor environment when you're trying to zen out for a few minutes. Oh the kicker .... this place which always accepted credit cards before and I've been coming here off and on for a few years, is now CASH ONLY!!!!! No signs not one indication anywhere of this... but don't worry they have an ATM machine in some dingey side closet... for $1.75 .... total SCAM!!!!! If you are cash only then Display that information !!!!! Oh I wasn't informed that the place is cash only by the guy doing my nails - all he did was blankly stare at me when I gave him a credit card- but some obnoxious Chinese woman who was playing cards yelled "cashhhh only go to ATM " - I gave a very minimal tip and left extremely annoyed - hopefully this review helps you decide to GO ELSEWHERE !!!!! Go to the place across the street!!!!! Do your own nails... just DONT GO HERE unless you like being treated like !!!!!!!!! Terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

This was my first time at this nail salon and I love how my nails came out. I went on a Saturday morning which was extremely busy but there were a lot of techs so the wait wasn't too long. The only thing I didn't like was that they are not organized. When it was my turn they tried to put this other girl who came after me first. So something so simply as writing people's name as they walked in would help. I didn't catch the name of the tech I had but she did such a really good job on my nails. I would try this place again but during the week hopefully it not so packed. read more

not worth a visit ... less than 24 hours after a $70 gel overlay on my natural nails and gel paint session, the paint is peeling off my nails. the gentleman who did my nails was rude, and kept stopping to answer the phone, tend to other customers ... the owner kept getting into verbal spats with customers ... chaotic and overpriced... i asked for a specific design and the answer i got was the rudest 'no' i've ever gotten .there are too many around-the-way nail salons open that can do an equally crappy job for 1/2 the price. experts they are not. never again. update- 2 days in and the stones have fallen off my nails. disgusting. so annoyed. read more

Looks as if this place was once a very nice salon, however it seems a bit run down at the moment. The customers seem as if they have been going there for years. It's also a bit tight in terms of space, but not too bad. Got a simple manicure from Nadesh (forgive me if I'm saying it wrong) and it was short and simple, yet a good manicure. read more

I made an appointment for 2pm for myself and my two daughters. I also told them the services we were doing. When we got there, the shop was PACKED. All the stations were full and people were waiting. The stations had two ppl sitting side by side. I AM NOT DOING THAT DURING A PANDEMIC. An asian guy came up to me and started asking me what services we were doing, and I mentioned we had an appointment. He asked again and I told him. He then asked a third time, to which I queried if making an appointment and specifying the services even mattered? He then became very rude, walked away and fanned me off. I left. I will never go back there or recommend this place. read more

Been coming here for a few months now only because I can't make it to my regular spot in crown heights. Its a nice spot but I wouldn't make this my home. I only have Tank do my nails. He takes his time and he's gentle wit my hands. I hear ppl rave bout Tina and her husband doing good nails but eh, ill pass. I had her husband do it the first time I came and I wasn't impressed. Cindy or Wendy are the best when it come to doing feet. I'll only let them do it. Other than that, they alright. Pricing is no different from when I go to my other spot ($36 mani $15 pedi) read more

Do NOT go to this nail place. I had gone for a gel manicure and pedicure and the guy who did my nails was very rude and did a very poor job on my pedicure. He didn't do much to my feet and I could have honestly just painted my toes myself at home. I had asked for white gel polish and it came out looking like white out smeared on my nails. He was very rough with my hands during the manicure and had a game that he was distracted with on his phone. He drilled down my nails which made them weak and brittle and put on FOUR COATS of gel polish on my nails. It looked so bulky and just all around terrible. I won't ever visit this place again. There are better nail salons in Brooklyn for a better price. read more

Probably won't return here again. My mom and I went for regular pedicures, we were constantly pressured to get gel pedicures. Besides having rushed service, my technician cut me on various times & kept sneezing to the side without covering himself properly. However the good thing about this nail salon is the decor. read more

I am actually shocked by the reviews on yelp for this salon because honestly I think it's the best one I've been to in Brooklyn. Any regular person that goes here and you walk in they will tell u it's the best and that Tina is great. I'm a perfectionist and I hate when my nails are crooked, and not painted on the side n the top, which I have encountered at many other nail salons do. Tina, one other girl, and one guy are the only people I will sit down with to do my nails, I would honestly sit there all day to wait because I know how my nails would come out and who can do the most best designs. If you are into crazy designs and detailing this is the best place to go to. The only thing bad I have to say is that there is one African lady that does toes and they seem to treat her a little bad not sure why but they put her through a bit of hell. But their work is amazing I also only let their head toe specialist do my toes. I'm just picky but I'm telling you it's worth the money!!! This is an extremely busy busy place and Tina gets requested most often, you can see how tired she is and barely takes a break. read more

i was referred to this place by 3 of my friends/coworkers. i'm with them all the time & their nails always look so beautiful. one of them came to this establishment on their break and they looked beautiful. she got the coffin shape & it inspired me to get a new shape bc ive had the square shaped nail since forever. i get there early bc i was told to get there at a certain time, ESPECIALLY on the weekend since people start lining up early. i go to the gel polish booth & this man sits down & i tell him that i want the coffin shape. he's asking all these things i don't want & not understanding me so i tell the worker next to him that i want a coffin shape and she explains it to the male worker & he starts to do it. he does one nail & he shows me and it looks great. my right hand came out good but my left hand looked botched. nothing about the nails were even or the shape that i asked for. i had a broken nail & i asked him if he was going to fix it & he asked if i wanted acrylic. i said no acrylic. then this other female worker walks up with an attitude and i ask for the sns & apparently they don't have sns (which i find strange bc all places have sns) then she suggests build-a-gel. i ask what that means & then she shows me her finger and she's like "it's this" & i said okay and whats "this". she says it's an extension and i say okay let's do it. then they pull out the acrylics after i stated i didn't want acrylics so i said to stop & just do the manicure. my nails are ugly & not what i asked. i was expecting tina to be there & she wasn't. her husband was of no help to me. the male worker was just getting the nail polish on the sides & barely dipping the brush inside the bottle to get the nail polish & it don't like anything about how he did my nails. i don't like the fact that i'm a new client & they were treating me the way they were & getting away with everything. this establishment needs to start taking credit cards. i'm only giving this place another chance bc i personally know people that have come here & have gotten beautiful results. read more

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY did I think I could start to go back to this place after years of not going and I think things would change. They are STILL rude, STILL inconsiderate, STILL have sub-par service and their prices are not competitive enough to even bother going. I have been about 3-4 times and EVERY TIME someone is cussing a worker out or damn near going to. It is not us people .. it is THEM ... we have to start taking our money where it is RESPECTED ... even if we have to commute a few minutes longer. Bad service should NOT be tolerated ...we work hard for our money to give it to people who do not work hard to receive it. read more

Needed an emergency pedicure so I came here knowing that the environment is run down and the service is not exceptional. Next time I'll do an at home pedicure if an emergency arises. One of THE WORST nail salons in Brooklyn!! Not only do they do a bad job. I walked in because I needed to do my nails and my salon I go to was booked. The Asians in there talk about you in front of you. I guess for an African American woman they think I don't know Mandarin Chinese. FYI I definitely do Lived in China for 3 years! I understood every word that came out they're rude grubby little hands.Called me a bitch because one lady told me a set price for my nails 45 then halfway in it was 60. For a gel and a fill in when it's displayed on you price list . I wish I would of gotten the names of these disrespectful creatures. However I've gotten one name Danny, he was very nice up until I told him I no longer wanted services because of how his staff was treating me. When I tell you his frown went upside down he looked at me and left. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. All the African Americans women that come here and support them should stop coming in !!! They WILL TALK ABOUT YOU INFRONT OF YOU. I rather support someone who respects me. read more

Honestly I love how they do acrylic and gel nails here otherwise I would never bother coming. They keep up with the latest trends, shapes and designs. The pedicures however are pretty inconsistent. If you come later in the afternoon or evening there's a lady who does an awesome job on your feet, coming earlier in the day yes you will get in and out faster but they don't do as neat or thorough a job. They don't take appointments so if you want a certain person to be your nail tech you may have to wait for them. Don't bother showing up without cash, they don't take credit cards and you will have to use their janky atm machine which charges like $2 or something close to that. It is street parking which can be hit or miss, but I've lucked out twice so far and got meter parking in front of the barber shop which is 2 doors down. I've tried out many other nail salons and I still think this place does a great job on gel and acrylic manicures, but I don't even bother with the pedicure. read more

I have gone here twice so far, they do a great job, however, I did notice that the tools are not sterilized. How do they get away with that? And it's not the cleanest. The chairs are also uncomfortable. The second time I went for a fill in for the permanent French I have & and was shocked that the fill in was the same price as the full set. They charged me 50.00 for fill in. I asked why & the girl said that's the price. I didn't complain much because I get 4 weeks out of my mani. Overall nice job they do, but I wish they would sterilize the utensils. ( I don't let them use them on me) Went again a few times after the above review... just had regular gel mani, should have been no more the 25.00, it was 34.00 was not happy the way they looked either. My daughter had acrylic fill in with gel & the fill in & polish was 60.00! They did horrible job on her, they all bubbled & had to go back next day. I felt bad & gave the person another tip, wish I didn't cause by the end of week her nails all came off. Won't go back. read more

I've been patronizing Touch for years. Never had an issue. Didn't mind the increase in prices because I know I'm getting what I pay for. My gel mani/pedi has lasted a month. Not because I wanted it to but because this particular instance, I couldn't make my bi-weekly visit. Tina or Coco usually do my eyebrows. If neither of the 2 are available, Cindy does a good job. Amy, Coco, Cindy or Tank usually do my mani/pedis. Excellent and satisfactory job every time. Coco gives great spa services. I will always be a Touch customer for the reasons stated above. read more

So as other reviewers have correctly noted the prices here are ridiculously inflated. I had a full set, with a spa pedicure, with 4 finger design aaaaaannnnnnnnnd 1 toe with acrylic done at another nail salon and paid 84 dollars for everything. When I came to get my nails done here, I got a full set with 2 finger design... and its costing 70!!!??? I haven't even gotten a pedicure yet. Did I miss something? And where is the price list? Oh wait, it doesn't matter because they will make something up to charge you. Last, whats up with paying each service seperately; example, get your nails done...pay, get your feet done.....pay again. How about we do simple addition and let me pay...ONCE THANKS. I'll be taking my hard earned CASH ONLY elsewhere. read more

They were ok when first opening but once the salon was renovated, the quality of service quickly plummeted. There are constant price increases without notifying the customer(s), on top of poor sanitary practices. They now charge an additional fee for "one time use" tools (Emory board, file) but near ask the customer if they'd like to keep it. That's because they clean and reuse it (we're no fool). As friendly as Tina and her husband are, their staff should follow suit. The staff, mainly the ones giving the pedicure and manicures in the back are VERY RUDE! After supporting the salon from there grand opening, I will not return and I'm sure wise folks will do the same! read more

This nail spot is by far the best looking nail salon on Ave L. I've been coming here simply because it is near my home. But the last couple of times I went the service was very awkward. The technicians were pushy and not welcoming. They would just ask you what you need when you walk in and tell you to sit until someone is open for you. Also, I decided to bring my mother with me to get her nails done(she already is not a fan of going to nail salon because she knows that they are not clean). So the first time i brought her she got french tips and all ten of her fingers were burning we couldn't figure out why, so she said she is not coming back. Then I talked into coming with me again and giving Touch nails a second try, she came and got gel mani. It looked great she even liked it but when it was time for her to take it off everything went down the drain. She had fungus on one-two of her fingers and the male technician didn't even acknowlege it. She was the one who had to point it out to me and ask if they have anything to treat fungus, and his reply was that they don't have anything at all to treat fungus. Now that ruined both our experiences. I do like the atmosphere and the design of the shop but the service needs improvement. There are some pretty skilled nail techs their its only the CUSTOMER SERVICE that sucks. Their prices are very high for the non sterilized utensils, pedi tub, and lack of customer services. Yet always looking for tip. Thats basically the only time they smile at you. read more

I was looking for a nail salon to service me on a consistent basis as I was tired of going to a different salon every time I needed my nails done. My experience at nail salons were either they were overpriced, had poor quality customer service or it felt like you were being bullied into spending money I didn't necessarily have to spend or want to spend. Once again I hit the jackpot with finding a place that exemplified all of the above; Touch. Because Touch is a heavily populated place the quality service is bypassed because they will take every single customer that enters the door which in turn means your nails will be rushed. Also I totally understand that it's a business so they will push for added nail features but they are never direct and then when you hear your total you're taken aback. So word of advice, when they push "gel color" or "designs" make sure to ask "how much?". I was unsatisfied with my nails and feet and left feeling very disappointed especially after paying $100. My friend also got her nails done and it's wasn't neat. Her gel polish striped off the next day after she scratched her leg. My nails are lumpy and poorly shaped. When getting my feet done they opened a booklet and told me to pick a color. See if you're not aware you will innocently pick a color not knowing those are gel colors. I had to tell them "No" 3 times and request regular nail polish for my toes. My friend was also pushed for that and when she said she didn't have extra money they told her it's only $15 more. I think customers need to be heard and respected. I want to be fare and not just ever nail technicians in their as a poor service provider but please be mindful that you will need to speak up and set limits when it comes to what you want to spend. Getting your nails done is a form of self care, a treat and maintenance to list a few. Therefore it should be done with ease not to feel like you're going into war over what you want vs what they want for you. read more

I've been to Touch many times and although they are expensive they are usually worth it. I called to make an appointment for lashes and the owner Tina wanted to schedule a time I kept telling her was inconvenient because I had an earlier hair appointment. I was going to be 15 minutes late and Tina cancelled my appointment. She called me back to scream at me because I asked for a refund because I had prepaid. I will never go to Touch again. $85 for lashes and you want to scream at me when I told you the appointment wasn't going to work for me. She just lost a customer and a few more. I am disappointed in this nail salon for apparent discrimination. For the most part, they do a really good job. A few months ago, they added another nail tech who's an African American female. She was sitting in the front of the salon with the rest of the Asian staff. She is one of the best and highly requested from my observation. I started going to her to have my nails done and have been quite pleased. Many customers go to the nail salon just for her. I went to the salon recently, hoping to have my nails done by her and when I arrived, a male Asian was in her seat. I automatically assumed it was her day off or she was no longer working there. 15minutes into getting my nails done by the male Asian tech, I looked all the way in the back of the salon, and low and behold I spotted the African American nail tech sitting alone in the back. Honestly, as a African American female, it gave me an uneasy feeling. I feel if she was an Asian female, they wouldn't have pushed her to the back of the salon. She is really good at what she does, brings money and customers to the salon and she should've remained in the front with the rest of the staff. I think it was a poor choice to place her in the back for various reasons, not to mention some of her customers think she no longer works there because she's not visible. read more
