I actually really enjoy going to New Purity. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of service is good. They do a solid job with manicures, pedicures, and eyebrows, and I usually leave happy with the results. The only critique I have is that they seem to have new nail technicians almost every day. If you find someone you really like, it is not likely you will see them again. Personally, I do not love that model because not every nail tech provides the same level of consistency and service. A system like that only works if the service is consistent across the board. Overall, it is a nice spot with fair pricing, and I would recommend it, but I do wish there was more stability with the staff. read more

*CASH ONLY ALERT* Yesterday was only my second time ever, at Purity Nail Boutique. A friend of mine treated me to a pedicure for my bday. I chose the Crystal Spa pedi. A young woman named Wendy worked on my feet. Let's begin with the cleanliness of Purity. The environment is spotless, bright and airy. The foot basins are throughly disinfected between customers (which I REALLY appreciate.) The staff is cheerful. A woman named Wendy, treated my feet and calves with care. I really liked the foam, jelly soak. I didn't come with my own polish as I normally would but the available colors were pretty vibrant. One day later, my hot pink toes still look great and my naturally tough feet still feel smooth. I do wish that I had been allowed to soak my feet a while longer. That seems to be a thing with many nail salons-rushing the soaking portion of the pedicure. Great outcome though. I haven't had any service besides a pedicure at Purity. Maybe I'll go for a manicure next. read more

Passed by this morning with a friend around 10:15am and saw that they were open for business! My friend went in and she was able to get serviced immediately! She got a manicure, which ran her $15 (quite the steal! Salon across the street charges $19) My friend was very pleased with her manicure. The staff was friendly and was taking every precaution to ensure safety. We got our hands sanitized upon stepping in, and sanitized once more before beginning service. All employees had face masks and shields on, and they had a plexi guard separating us and them as a extra layer of protection. They also made sure we were masked as well, and to top it off they have air filters! Overall, great experience! The establishment was spacious as they thoroughly enforced crowd control to ensure enough space was had between customers to follow the 6 feet social distancing protocol. On our way out, they also informed they are taking over the future reservations for our future visit. read more

DO NOT GO HERE !! I got a new set of acrylic nails on Friday the 13th and the first day two nails broke off and I went back to get them fixed. Well I was visiting NY and now I'm back home in vegas and it's Wednesday and two more broke off. They use the cheapest products and have no idea what they are doing. I wasted my money and this place is the worst. Save yourself the time and money and go elsewhere. I should've know what I was getting when the prices were so low. read more

Best 30 bucks no frill gel manicure I ever got! I happened to stumble across this clean, spacious and welcoming nail salon after dinner with my friends on a Tuesday night. The service was meticulous and everyone was super sweet. Ask for Selina! She works only Tuesdays and Saturdays but I got the best gel done with her. As a nurse, regular polish never stays long on my hand so I always get the gel manicure done. The color selection was great and they have different brands of gel colors. Will definitely recommend!!! read more

I had an appointment yesterday for a gel mani and regular pedi. Me along with one other person were the only ones in the salon. It was surprised that a salon during the afternoon was empty! There were also three technicians working, so the under-staffing matched with the small crowd. Also, the crowd level was surprising because there was a 20% holiday sale yesterday for the holidays (That can only be obtained by paying cash). This told me that even though I believe the salon had workers wearing masks, plastic boundaries between customers and workers, hand sanitizer, and temperature checks, the normal clientele was still worried about getting COV ID-19. I tried to match the colors of both my hands and toes, and I think I did a good job (Look at the pictures below). I asked my nail technician if they matched, and she agreed. She did me pretty: my nails are so neat and shiny. The only thing I found I problem with her is that she was not open to talking to me. She would give me one word quick answer in response to my questions. I personally like talking to my technicians during the service to ease time. Maybe she was shy and not used to people talking to her. read more

I'm only give them a 4 star for consistent customer service. They honestly try their best to do a good job, fix any issues and service in reasonable time. As one regular stated in another review...the neighborhood has changed (gentrification) so the prices have gone up. The owner must keep up with the rent so they raise the prices and rush services-customers suffer. I just have to say I wasn't as satisfied as I could've been and have been after previous visits. read more

Like others have said, this place is a no-frills salon. I can't speak to their other services since I usually get manis/pedis. Overall they do a pretty good job and they are pretty cheap. The place is pretty clean and take walk-ins. They do have a nice selection of polish including the Essie Gel collection and you can also bring in your own and they don't give you a hassle or extra charge. Overall it's fine for when I'm in the area. read more

Please for your own good and nail health do not go to this place. I went here yesterday for an acrylic fill. The technician was lazy and really rough with my hands and didn't change her ways after I told her she was hurting me. She didn't finish taking off the polish I had on before so it's bleeding through got the current manicure. All my nails are jaggedy, misshapen and thicker than a quarter. After paying $25 for the fill, I am going to have to pay some other salon $60 to fix the mess they made of my nails. Even the polish job is a hack with hair and air bubbles all over. read more

I would have given 4 stars because there is 1 lady who does a good job with my pedi and gel mani. However, the last 2 women I had were not so great. Both just slapped on the first coat which didn't cover my whole nail. The second woman wasn't even going to file my toes; I had to ask her to do so. She also did a sloppy job with the polish - it's uneven at the edge of some of my nails. Her massages were weak too. Just seemed very rushed and half-assed. I had been going here about every 3 weeks since they re-opened last year but I will be going to another salon from now on. read more

I called at maybe 6pm on a Sunday to see if they would be able to accommodate 2 walk ins at that time and they seem cool as a cucumber with it so me and my coworker locked up the salon and jumped right over.(its literally across the street from our salon) We were seated right away and they were all ready to work. I saw tony and he did my full set with gel color. I liked that there was a straight price for tips no matter what shape i wanted. Gel was an extra $20. I sat down and told him I wanted "pointy but not too pointy" and he did a technique I never seen before. I've been getting my nails done for a long long time and this is the first time I've been 100% satisfied with my shape. He put the acrylic on the nail first and then once it was dry a bit he cut the sides and then shaped the rest with a nail file. I could tell he was getting tired because he paused a few times for a rest but I'm all good with that! The shape came out PERFECT. Nothing was crooked or weird looking. They are all the same length and shape. Also I want to mention, while me and my coworker were in our chairs they all started cleaning the place. I mean CLEANING. There was no room for games lol they were all with a mop and broom in hand! The place smelled like clean laundry that you pick up after dropping it off at the laundry mat ! I love that! lol All in all I think I may have found my new spot! read more

I came in got a UV full gel set and I wasn't really impressed about how they came out. Tony was my manicurist and the only one that knows how to work with UV gel?! I requested coffin shaped nails and they came out looking kind of funky. I had to ask him to clean up my cuticles, I thought that service came with a full set. The shop was slow at first, but the they had a rush of customers come in. So at this point I notice he started to move faster and the work just got sloppier. He kept hitting my cuticle area with the drill because he was rushing. Needless to say I won't be back. read more

What has happened to Purity Nails! It's as if when they are busy, all customer service goes out the door!! This is my second time coming here and getting terrible service! Second time because it's convenient but never again. I went in to get a mani/pedi with a broken toenail. The nail technician did a terrible job filing. After repeatedly asking her to file my nails for symmetry, she polished my toes and pretended to not understand my request. When speaking with the manager, he proceeds to tell me that it's to late to fix the problem because she had began polishing. I didn't even have the energy to put up a fight. I left with my feet painted a bright red but looking as butchered as they did prior to walking through the door. read more

This sucks to say because initially I really liked this place. But every time I do my nails I am unsatisfied. This is the best nail salon in the neighborhood so that says a lot! When I get a fill in the technician does what he wants and can never finish the entire experience. I enjoy sitting with one person not two or three. They use way to much polish thinner, there are many air bubbles when the polish dries. It's inexpensive but honestly you get what you pay for and I would rather not come back! read more

I'm only giving this a 1 star because it was open. I have lived in this neighborhood for over 30 years. And frequent many of of the businesses. More specifically the Brooklyn famous Chinese restaurant KUM KAU. SO.... I picked up my food from Kum kau. And realized that their dining area was closed. Probably due to covid. And we all understand that. However. I had to use the bathroom sooo bad. Like emergency on top of emergency. I'm like darn. I won't make it home. 3 kids later. And those of us who understand. UNDERSTAND. So I looked for the closest thing smoking. THIS DISGUSTING ESTABLISHMENT. i walked in very pleasant. "Good afternoon. May I please use ur restroom." NO ! Without even looking at me. No explanation. Customers only. Nothing. I repeated his response NO? He looked at me this time and said NO!! And went back to his conversation. I walked out with ease while responding "well that was nice". I saw a Japanese restaurant across the street who let me use it. And I was greatful. But for this rude place. Don't spend ur Money here read more

So when I looked up waxing services on Yelp and noticed that Uni K was nearby, with great reviews and online booking I was locked in! First of all, it was so happy to see that they had some same day appointment availability! Why that may not always be the case, some booking systems will still only show starting next day. I also loved that their menu had a lot of options, including more than one type of Brazilian to book. When I showed up to my appointment, I checked in and filled out some basic, new client information. I was then taken to my room with my waxer promptly after. They use hard wax here which many people prefer, but for me hurts the most. But I don't really care what is used as long as they're hygienic, quick, effective and will not spawn in-grown hairs. My waxer was quick, thorough and one week out...things are still looking good! As a bonus, first time clients got a significant discount which made me even happier about my experience. My little sister ran to her appointment…read moreand arrived flushed and a little sweaty, and the technician -- I believe her name was B -- proceeded to wax half the area before suddenly stopping and telling her that she was "too sweaty" to continue and that she would need to wait 40 MINS + an additional hour if the next client showed up. For context, my sister has been getting waxed regularly for over eight years. She is athletic, healthy, and this has never happened to her before. She was not dripping in sweat or experiencing anything extreme -- she had simply rushed to make the appointment and was flushed. None of that should even matter in terms of how respectfully a client is treated, but it made the reaction feel even more disproportionate. The technician told her she would need to wait 40 minutes or longer before they could continue, in part because another client was coming in. That is where this started to feel less like a legitimate waxing concern and more like a scheduling issue that my sister was being blamed for. I could completely understand saying, "Let's give you a few minutes to cool down so the wax adheres better." But stopping halfway through a service and telling someone to wait 40+ minutes is a very different situation. I have also been getting waxed for around 10 years, including throughout hot and humid New York summers, and I have never experienced or even heard of someone being treated this way simply for being a little sweaty. Beyond the explanation making very little sense, telling a client she is "too sweaty" in that manner is incredibly rude and inappropriate. There are professional, discreet ways to address moisture without making someone feel embarrassed or ashamed of their body. The fact that half the service had already been completed before this suddenly became an issue also made me seriously question the technician's judgment and experience. If it was genuinely unsafe to wax her, why was the service started in the first place? This is also a waxing salon with fans and powder available to help keep the skin dry. What made the situation even worse was what happened afterward. My sister called me on FaceTime while she was there and was literally in tears trying to advocate for herself and explain that the situation had made her uncomfortable. When my other younger sister later called the salon for more information, the woman at the front desk described my sister as "aggressive" and said she had made the staff uncomfortable. Well let me tell you, I'm the oldest sister and our youngest sister doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. It made me so sad to see her shakily defending herself. She was upset, embarrassed, and trying to stand up for herself while crying -- not behaving aggressively. All the receptionist had to do was apologize! Getting defensive with emotional clients is never the answer. If you are the owner please review the call as they are all recorded. My sister also told me that after the waxing specialist left the room, she overheard waxers giggling nearby. I cannot say whether they were laughing about her, and I won't pretend to know that. But in that moment, after she had already been made to feel embarrassed and vulnerable, hearing staff giggling only made her feel even more humiliated. Timing, discretion, and basic emotional awareness matter enormously in intimate services like waxing. At the end of the day, this felt like an inexperienced waxer and a scheduling problem being turned into my sister's fault, while her feelings were completely dismissed. A client should never leave a waxing appointment feeling ashamed of a normal bodily response, humiliated, and then be labeled "aggressive" simply for saying she felt uncomfortable. Stopping a service halfway through, giving a questionable explanation, making the client feel embarrassed, and then dismissing her reaction afterward is unacceptable. I would not recommend this location based on how this was handled. SHAME ON YOU ALL YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. MEANGIRL ACTIVITIES AT THIS LOCATION!!!! also not this is not the first time ive heard of other issues at this location. DO NOT LET THE FOUR STARS FOOL YOU. TERRIBLE STAFF HERE.

It was during this visit that I REALLY learned why it is important to stick to what you know. I got three services: a chocolate bikini wax, eyebrow threading and upper lip wax. The only one that went right was the upper lip wax. Eyebrow threading - I woke up with little scabs underneath one of the brows. This has never happened to me before. I don't have a lot of eyebrow, let's get that clear, but I do know they could have been shaped better. Other places I've been too may take an extra minute or two to make sure the shape is perfect. This was super quick and you can tell. Bikini Wax - I get this type of wax all the time, I've got a wax lady and god do I regret cheating on her. The lady literally left me bleeding. I have NEVER bled before. And she had the audacity to tell me that my skin is sensitive and that this is normal. Maybe it is, but I have definitely never bled before. Like... what the hell?! The wax wasn't even super clean so I had to go back in a day or two later to fix it up a little. Safe to say I will not be going back and I genuinely couldn't even try to pretend to recommend it. There are other places with similar prices that I'm sure will do a better job.
