How do you make months of stress disappear in 60 minutes? Go to Touch Method Massage and Body Works and have Thaddeus do his magic! I had been long overdue for a massage (Pre Covid for sure) and had been looking for months for a place with great reviews. I actually found TMM via a Groupon, but I looked at Yelp and Google reviews before I purchased. I did like that I was able to schedule the appointment as soon as I purchased the Groupon, but I guess the offer was so popular that the Groupon scheduler couldn't keep up with the demand. Thankfully, Thaddeus personally called to inform me of the error and the appointment availability. Since I kind of had an ideal time for the appointment, I changed to a different Saturday. I received confirmation of my appointment as well as reminders as the appointment date came closer. Despite receiving a very detailed email about the location, procedures, and protocols in place at TMM, I still ended up arriving 2 minutes after my appointment time because I passed up the address (it does sneak up on you). From TC Jester, you can't really see anything that looks like a building until you pass it up (I am also directionally challenged, so arriving 2 minutes late is pretty good for me)! Honestly, I have always had female therapist (not by preference, just happened that way). I have no objection to a male therapist--it's just new people that I have to adjust to. I respected that Thaddeus discussed with me my preferences for the massage and things I didn't desire. He even emphasized that if anything didn't feel comfortable to inform him. I really appreciated that since it had been so long since I had a massage. I felt no qualms about the massage and rightly so because I felt all tension and stress leave my body after this session. From the warm temperature of table (which Thaddeus checked with me to make sure it was good before he started the session), to the warm oil that meticulously and intentionally eased all the muscles and stress with each stroke of the massage, I was in heaven. I asked for the Swedish versus the deep tissue, so my entire body received the benefits of all that was before mentioned. The music was very calming but not too soft and tranquil that you fall asleep. The icing on the cake--walking out your session with Thaddeus waiting up front to meet you holding a champagne flute of H20 to remind you that water is essential after your massage session. I'm sure I had the biggest smile on my face because gosh--this was a phenomenal massage--one of THE BEST I've ever had. OMG! I've been getting professional massages for over 25 years and I can say that Lativia gave the best deep tissue massage I've ever had. (And, I'm a tough critic!) In fact, I already purchased a pack of 5 more 90 minute massages. I live downtown, so its not really a convenient location, but it is well worth the drive! Her techniques included stretching of the hips, quads, and upper back, as well as other areas. I suffer sciatic nerve pain (desk job) and she definitely alleviated that during my visit. BTW - I too was skeptical, having read some of the negative reviews, but I can attest that those are true rubbish! So glad I didn't let them influence me. I am extremely picky about my massage therapist and Thaddeus is great! He truly listens to what hurts and educates me on ways to fix it. He is a genuine guy that wants to improve the overall health of clients. I have had many therapist literally beat on me and say that I am too tight to work on but Thaddeus never complained, only ask questions to better understand what is triggering the pain. I was a little concerned after reading Lauren D.'s comments, but decided to visit the place anyways since I had already paid for the Groupon. Yes there was no one there apart from Thaddeus but it could have because it was a Sunday and probably because it seemed more like a new company with limited resources. I didn't find anything fishy, on the contrary unlike Some of the Bellaire centers, this place was quite clean and organized. Now on the topic of massage itself.. it's more of sports conditioning and adaptation of table top Thai massage which was excellent. I personally prefer deep tissue with medium to high pressure which is probably not their strength but I knew upfront that I was not going to get that. Therapist Thaddeus Allen is a wonderful bodyworker. As soon as I stepped inside the building, I felt positive, calming energy. The treatment room was adorned with beautiful ornaments. I was offered an array of upgrades including a foot scrub, hot stones & cbd cream. Before the massage Thaddeus conducted a thorough intake to address all my specific areas of tension. The aromatherapy was soothing without being overbearing. The music seemed tailored to my tastes. The bed was warm & comfy!! Everything about my experience was such a blessing & treat. Sketchy AF. Got a groupon for xmas. After finally finding the building (their signage is paper signs taped to the door of a cross fit building), I walk into a space that is apparently an aerial yoga studio. Nobody is there. I yell "hello" for about 30 seconds. I call their # and speak to Connie who is not physically there. A guy walks out of a side room and I tell him I've been yelling. He laughs and says "You're alright" I ask if anyone else is there. He says no, just him. Being a woman with a healthy fear of being raped/murdered/kidnapped, alarm bells start ringing in my head. I inform the man that I do not feel comfortable and explain how strange the situation is. I call Connie to reschedule for a time when there are actually other people there, or with a female massage therapist. Where do I start? Thaddeus is a masseuse God!!! I very rarely leave reviews because to be honest very little in the massage world impresses me. This morning I happened to stumble upon Touch Method Massage and Body Works website and checked out the reviews. Very rarely do I see a 5 star rating and was understandably skeptical. Once I booked my appointment (great discounts on Yelp BTW) I formally met Thaddeus and he was super professional and knowledgeable!! Within 5 minutes of listening to him I could tell this young man knew what he was talking about. Well... 60 minutes later and I literally wanted to give him a hug!! He took the time to explain the source of my pain and discussed ways I can continue my pain relief journey at home. I immediately booked another appointment for 2 weeks from now. I've been suffering from lower back pain for the better part of 10 years. The very first session yielded phenomenal and amazing results!!
