How do you make months of stress disappear in 60 minutes?…read more Go to Touch Method Massage and Body Works and have Thaddeus do his magic! I had been long overdue for a massage (Pre Covid for sure) and had been looking for months for a place with great reviews. I actually found TMM via a Groupon, but I looked at Yelp and Google reviews before I purchased. I did like that I was able to schedule the appointment as soon as I purchased the Groupon, but I guess the offer was so popular that the Groupon scheduler couldn't keep up with the demand. Thankfully, Thaddeus personally called to inform me of the error and the appointment availability. Since I kind of had an ideal time for the appointment, I changed to a different Saturday. I received confirmation of my appointment as well as reminders as the appointment date came closer. Despite receiving a very detailed email about the location, procedures, and protocols in place at TMM, I still ended up arriving 2 minutes after my appointment time because I passed up the address (it does sneak up on you). From TC Jester, you can't really see anything that looks like a building until you pass it up (I am also directionally challenged, so arriving 2 minutes late is pretty good for me)! Honestly, I have always had female therapist (not by preference, just happened that way). I have no objection to a male therapist--it's just new people that I have to adjust to. I respected that Thaddeus discussed with me my preferences for the massage and things I didn't desire. He even emphasized that if anything didn't feel comfortable to inform him. I really appreciated that since it had been so long since I had a massage. I felt no qualms about the massage and rightly so because I felt all tension and stress leave my body after this session. From the warm temperature of table (which Thaddeus checked with me to make sure it was good before he started the session), to the warm oil that meticulously and intentionally eased all the muscles and stress with each stroke of the massage, I was in heaven. I asked for the Swedish versus the deep tissue, so my entire body received the benefits of all that was before mentioned. The music was very calming but not too soft and tranquil that you fall asleep. The icing on the cake--walking out your session with Thaddeus waiting up front to meet you holding a champagne flute of H20 to remind you that water is essential after your massage session. I'm sure I had the biggest smile on my face because gosh--this was a phenomenal massage--one of THE BEST I've ever had. I asked about future bookings and everything is found on the website at https://www.massagebook.com/Houston~Massage~touch#services. Not only will you find monthly packages and packs to suit your frequency and schedule, thanks for showing some love to the essential workers (like first responders and teachers, whoop, whoop) and giving them a discount (call for more details on that pricing)! Although it was a 40 minute drive to get here, it was well worth it! Instead of giving your money to the Massage Envys and Heights that don't know your name, why not support small businesses like TMM and receive a quality massage? One visit, and you will be back-just don't take my appointment time!

So, it shouldn't strike anyone as a surprise that eventually a massage therapist would pop up in my review repertoire. Treat yourself, am I right? That said, Jeremy / The Body's Source will be the one (and only) massage therapist who I review here on Yelp, because he is the very best! Jeremy's the real deal. He truly takes a therapeutic approach to body work -- I can literally feel the stress leaving my body. And when you commute from The Woodlands to Houston every day, you're stressed, okay? :P I visit routinely every 2-3 weeks and I've noticed that each time I visit, Jeremy does something different during my massage. What that tells me is that he adjusts his method based on me individually - even from session to session - which is the sign of an exceptionally caring MT. The office is clean, comfortable and smells wonderful. Jeremy utilizes aromatherapy / essential oils to promote relaxation/stress relief/etc. and again, tailors what he uses to the particular session. When my massage is finished (always too soon), he gives me water to rehydrate and flush the toxins out. We also typically chat for a few minutes. His demeanor is really warm, and the conversation comes easily. To sum it up, regardless of what kind of day I've had prior to my massage, I ALWAYS leave feeling like a million bucks. I talk him up everywhere I go and will continue to do so. PS - I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that I've also hired The Body's Source to do chair massage at a party (about a month ago), and the attendees are still talking about how wonderful it was! :)

It's way more intense than a deep tissue massage b/c he applies sustained pressure to one area in order to break up the fascia. I should have taken a couple shots of whisky before I decided to try this. Throughout most of it I managed not to cry like a little schoolgirl but there were some moments when I let out a couple shrieks. To his credit, he asked me what kind of pressure I wanted and I told me "full force." Am I a glutton for pain? Maybe - I don't know about some people but I really like my therapists to really dig deep and break up whatever is causing me pain. The results were what I wanted: more range of motion for my shoulder. Note: go easy on your shoulders when you lift weights. Don't try to be a Arnold Swartznegger when you work them out because their small muscles and can get injured easily. It's better to use light weights with perfect form. Austin is a good massage therapist and I'm glad I gave him a chance. I usually go to another place off I-10 but she was booked all week. He really has the technique down and knows what he's doing. I'll definitely be back. Through experience now, I prefer male massage therapists because they can apply way more pressure than female ones can. He charges $90 for an hour which is a little higher than I normally pay but he did a good job, so I'm cool with it.
