I had a worst booking experience with Massage Heights. The attendant was so rude and was unwilling to offer flexibility or alternative options. When I requested a deep tissue massage, I was told no one was available. When I specified a female therapist, I was informed she was only available at 7 PM, despite my preferred time. The attendant was dismissive when I asked about deep tissue massage as an alternative, insisting I adjust to what they had which was a male therapist with medium to firm pressure, I also felt the way male therapists were offered came across as condescending and words like "are you really okay with a male therapist?!". By the time the attendant found a slot, I was so frustrated with the tone and inflexibility that I decided not to proceed with any booking. This experience needs serious improvement in customer service and flexibility. Please do not go here. read more

I'm a little unhappy as every time I find a good massage therapist, they change their schedule and are less accessible. On top of that the price increased quite a bit from when I first started. Membership is now 79.99 and the cost for more massages over the 1 per month is more too. I do like the convenient location and staff are friendly, but even the last time I scheduled with my favorite therapist, they texted me that she changed her schedule and was no longer available on the date I scheduled which is frustrating. First time attending massage heights and it will definitely be the last. Had one of the worst 60 minute massages of my life with a masseuse named Linda. Linda spent a majority of the 60 minutes simply rubbing oil into my skin and with no actual massaging going on, no pressure. I had initially booked for medium pressure but seeing as I could barely feel anything I asked for more pressure which she ignored. I have gotten a lot of massages in my life and I was flabbergasted by how poor this service was. She barely stretched my ankles, fingers, arms. I will say the neck massage was decent. She didn't provide much instruction, didn't let me know when the service was complete, she simply said "thank you" and left the room. I was in there for another 10 minutes unsure if she was returning, if I should get dressed as I had a facial booked after. Like c'mon Linda. During checkout, slightly pushy about gift cards and stuff. But I will say the facial was decent, the services started on time, the facilities were clean, you got a complimentary beverage before your services. If you decide that you absolutely need to go to massage heights for your next massage, just don't ask for Linda. read more

I can not recommend Massage Heights Midtown Houston. I've been a loyal customer since COVID and have maintained a monthly membership. I've always enjoyed the services, but due to financial reasons, I can no longer continue. After submitting my request to cancel the membership, I was told that I no longer have my 4+ credit hours because I'm not an active member. I would need to pay for another month of service to access my remaining credits. To make matters worse, they refuse to offer a refund or honor my prescheduled appointments so I can use the credits I have left. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this company or this location. read more

Just left my massage. The massage itself was C- There was nothing wrong with the service. It was just....not good. I don't feel like any effort went into it. She did what she was supposed to do and that was that. It was akin to a teacher who gets up and says the words of a lesson and then sits down. The teacher 'did her job' but there was no checking for understanding or actual transference of knowledge - or in this case, relaxation. I had a math teacher in high school who would stand in front of the class and do algebra. She said what she was doing, solved the problem and then told us to do the book work. We just stared at the book blankly because we hadn't actually been taught anything. This massage was like that. Bad teacher analogies aside, I just left like a lump of dough that a baker was rolling with a pin - which is neither relaxing or enjoyable. The headrest was painful and no matter how much I tried to adjust my head I never found a comfortable position. While I am a huge mask supporter during this pandemic I think it's odd that one is required when facing down on the table. Sure, wear one when facing up, but wearing one facing down was miserable. I considered stopping the massage because it was so uncomfortable and regret not doing so. With your face in the headrest the mask is pulled super tight and legit makes it difficult to breathe. It was suffocating. This is reason alone to not get a massage right now. It was annoying to read the 'tipping guidelines' sign that instructs the market rate tip is upwards of THIRTY PERCENT (what's your source on this Massage Heights???) and even more annoying when they present you with three preselected tip amounts on the iPad. (Thank God for 'custom field'.....) But the thing that will keep me from ever trying Massage Heights again was post massage when they try to sell you a membership. This is maddening. People get massages to relax and escape the anxiety of the world. What's the point of a massage if only to be hit up for spending MORE money after just dropping a significant amount on a massage? Horrible. I let the girl give her pitch and said 'no thank you'. But then she came back with, 'Is there anything keeping you from committing today?' Bitch I just said 'no'. No means no. I don't have to give you a reason. WTF? I don't think this was her fault though. This is the fault of a corporation that instructs their employees to ask bad follow up questions. Today I decided to make it a day of pampering myself and did I ever need this! I decided to treat myself to a 90 minute with cupping added. Cupping is a form of massage therapy which decompresses soft tissues using vacuum suction, unlike other forms of massage that compresses soft tissues. During cupping, the cup gently sucks to your skin and lifts underlying soft tissue into the cup. How does it feel? Cupping is very relaxing and generally not painful. I will tell you it depends on the area if you will feel pain. I felt in on certain parts of my thigh area and my calves. Over all Allan, my masseuse was phenomenal. I left out very relaxed and rejuvenated. The moral of the review, self care should always be there, so don't forget to pamper yourself! I Sign up for this membership 7 months ago. It's very pricey and then you have to tip from the total amount not the membership amount! So I tried to cancel it and they doesn't let you cancel , only freze the membership for 6 months . I rarely take the time to leave reviews however given that this experience was so subpar compared to others I figured it was worth it. I had a last minute massage with Alex. From the beginning she was a bit curt and took over 5 minutes to come back into the room after letting me change. We didn't get started until 10 minutes after the appointment was scheduled. The beginning of the massage was good with firm pressure. The last 10-15 minutes of the massage however were useless, there was minimal to no pressure and she would often just rest her hand for 30 seconds or more before doing anything. At some point I thought maybe she was falling asleep. By this point I was just ready to finish the massage and leave. The massage ended 5 minutes prior to the hour being up. (I know typically when you book a hour massage it's actually 50 minutes however this was 45 and probably much less if you consider all the breaks). I'm hoping this was a one time thing and perhaps she was tired from prior customers but massage heights needs to make sure their therapists are well rested and ready for each customer to prevent the masseuse from getting too tired. I have never been more disappointed with the customer service of a company. I found them to be rude and dismissive. NEVER sign up for one of their memberships. It's super scammy. They do not make it clear AT ALL that you can't cancel your membership under, essentially, any circumstance. I had some major and unforeseen medical expenses. Tried to request cancelation and they denied me. I tried to explain further as to why I needed to cancel and got denied again. I even attempted reaching out to corporate. I had the most demonic, nasty, unprofessional experience. first the massage tech came in th room eating, then started my massage late, I booked the appointment for 7pm, the massage was deep tissue, the tech said "I will try my best, but you're my last client and my hands hurt". Due to covid, I moved from Texas and was 10 hours from the nearest massage heights. I tried to cancel my membership - I emailed to cancel and they took me on a long journey that made me keep giving more details and proof and during that time they kept charging me anyway. When I provided the "proof" - multiple times because they kept asking for more details - they said that they had kept charging me from the time I asked my account to be frozen because it was until I submitted all the "proof" that I could opt out. Absolutely ridiculous money grab on their part, especially as since the time of my initial outreach I should have been allowed to get myself out of the membership contract. I highly encourage you to not sign up or commit to a long term membership plan as cancelling, adjusting, or amending is designed to keep you trapped in their scheme to charge your credit card monthly. Staff are forced to abide by rules of franchise owners who use all the manipulative membership tactics to ensure they can bill you, then not allow you to use paid for services. While waiting for our appointments, my friend and I listened to one of the masseuses complaining to the girls running the front desk that he doesn't "make jack sh*t." Um hello, there are clients sitting right there! They also try and up-sell you like crazy, there's your warning. Anyway, my masseuse was Jonathan and he was awesome. Typically I don't like talking when I get massages but this guy had me cracking up and it was a rather fun experience. He is very knowledgable and really helped me realign my disaster of a body. Kim my massage therapist did an amazing job. I was having bad neck and upper back pain from sitting at desks all day and the massage really helped assuage the pain. She recommended hot stones which I had never had before and it was very relaxing and therapeutic. She also put me at ease right away when I told her I had only had one massage previously and told me she knew what I needed and that she would take care of me. Not sure how this place has so many great reviews. Came here because of the reviews primarily and turned out to be disappointing. The massage was very rushed and the guy was rude. The whole massage lasted less than 40 mins which I found was ridiculous for paying more than $100 for an hour massage. He came to get me 10 mins after my scheduled appt and finished 10 mins before. He applied firm pressure even though I requested medium and seemed annoyed by huffing and sighing when I asked him to adjust because it hurt. I really like the massage and facial packages that you get to select from for the membership. Some masseuse and esthetician are good, but you have to go through trial and error or ask the front for their good staff members. This is just in regards to the cancellation from Massage Heights . I just got a call that the esthetician had cancelled 2 hours before my appointment. When customers cancel within 24 hours, we're charged 50%. When Massage Heights cancel within 24 hours, they say "sorry" and "let's reschedule" and "we don't have someone available during your appointment time." I had to confirm my appointment a day beforehand as well. Sucks, and won't be renewing with them after my year membership. read more

To all the ppl that complain they are getting shorted by 4 mins or that it felt rushed-let me tell you as someone who works by the hour... they book these people "back to back " .... the therapist likely use that time to eat something so they don't pass out or try and use the restroom in the Two minutes they have to themselves. It is also actually very cheap. 50$ for an hour massage isn't market price. I charge that for half an hour! Most well trained massage therapist change 80-120$ per hour. First and foremost.. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY! If I could give zero stars.. I would. But since I can't the next best thing is to hopefully save the next person from experiencing what my husband and I went through. You would think that a company that specializes in massages and facials, would bring relaxation and comfort into your life, especially when you and your spouse reluctantly sign a 6 month contract for $180 a month.. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. With the pandemic shocking is to our core, we decided to continue our payments and we figured once the pandemic was over we would be able to use our credits, since that's how they got us to sign a contract with them in the first place. I'm sure the majority of people would agree that going to a massage parlor where people go to get naked on a table, while someone is practically on top of you, touching and rubbing, and making you sweat, is not the place to go when a deadly pandemic is going on. Whenever our six months ended, which was on April 2020, the charges stopped, then a month later we get a text stating that we needed to update our payment information so a payment could be made and we could use our remaining credits. Confused, my husband calls the facility and asks to speak to a manager about the situation, their explanation was that they had just updated their systems that that could've been the reason why we got that text. She then checked our contract and stated that it was a year, not six months. We disagreed on the time that we had supposedly signed a contract to, but decided that it was pointless to argue because she claimed if we didn't pay the remaining six months, we wouldn't be able to use the credits we already had which was a total of 10 between the two of us and it would affect our credit. Very hesitant, we agreed and told her that we would continue the payments but that we didn't feel comfortable coming in because of everything going on. She agreed and told us not to worry, that we would be able to use our credits once things calmed down. Fast forward six months, our contract is over and we figured that was that. The following month we get another charge, now my husband is furious, he calls the facility again and they tell him that there was nothing noted about us wanting to end our contact once the year was over, we argued that we hadn't even agreed to the full year to begin with but that we paid it because we would eventually want to use our credits. The manager claimed she would cancel our contract, but that we would HAVE TO PAY THE EXTRA MONTH THAT WAS CHARGED, obviously pissed off about the extra payment once again we hesitantly agree and leave it at that. The following day my husband asks me to call back, to make sure that our contract was truly cancelled.. To my surprise, it was not. The new girl I spoke to explained that the only way to cancel our contract was to sign ANOTHER contract to cancel. Shocked, I ask why this was never explained when it was obvious that we wanted to cancel at the six month mark. Fed up I ask for the "contract to cancel", it is emailed to me and that's when I see that we have 3 months to use our 22 credits, keep in mind we were under the impression that we would have an indefinite amount of time to use our credits which was verbally stated originally when they convinced us to sign a contract with them. Since things started to calm down, my husband and I decided to try using our credits starting this January. That massage had to be the most uncomfortable one ever.. For one when we got there our temperatures weren't even checked, that bothered me but at least they were all wearing masks, two they asked us to keep the mask on during the massage and on top of that they added an extra cover to the area where you place your face which made it extremely difficult to breathe. That hour felt like the longest hour ever because I was damn near suffocating during the service. All in all.. If you want a massage in Houston, go anywhere but here. There are plenty of local parlors or mom and pops that would probably treat you like a worthy customer, not just more money for the company, who caught us with their "you can use your credits anytime" bullshit. Between my husband and I, we have 20 credits left over at $90 each.. And our "three month to use the credits" ended a week ago. As much as I wanted to get my money's worth, COVID and Massage Height's horrendous customer service made it an easy decision. First time visitor here and it was an amazing experience! My bf gifted me a gift card for Christmas, so I was able to call and make an appointment. Interestingly, I couldn't book online for more beyond 2-3 days out. Not sure if it was my phone, but anyhow, I called and the service from that moment was great. The day of my appointment, I arrived early to fill out the first time client form on the tablet. Took a few minutes and then I just waited. It was really on time, but only off by like 4 minutes. The therapist really listened to my needs. Amazing experience!!! Still not sure it was the full 60 minutes, but honestly- it felt so good. My muscles really appreciated it!!
