I would definitely recommend this business to anyone looking for a pair of good shoes with a perfect fit. The knowledge, expertise and customer service they provide is top of the line. I arrived here and both clerks had other customers but I waited and browsed around the store. The wait was not long and was well worth the time. I explained some foot issues I have and they knew exactly what I was talking about and made recommendations about shoes after sizing me on the stand-up machine. The store associate never became hurried or rushed me and allowed me to try on multiple shoes that she recommended. In total, she probably spent thirty minutes with me as I tried each pair of shoes and walked around the store in them before making my selection. I came here most recently to grab my race number for a race they were hosting. Packet pickup was efficient and quick! I do like that they host races, as I'm an avid runner and love to compete. I have to admit I haven't bought anything here in a long time. They have a more limited choice of footwear than some of the other stores. They carry apparel and energy fuels as well. I'm not sure their expertise as far as picking the right shoes for you but the store is well organized and clean. Staff is friendly. Again, I'm a big fan that they hold races, often on holidays that make it nice for people who don't want to trek downtown to run a big race. I'll gladly keep being a part of some of their races, and appreciate that they take part in that! read more

Needed a pair of shoes to walk with for now! and transition into running. Was told this store would be a great place to help me with my troublesome feet (narrow and plantar fasciatis). Had a GREAT experience! Travis knew how to help me with my shoe selection. They have a treadmill there so you can walk or run in the shoes to see how they really feel. He helped me know what size I really needed to be comfortable and injury free. Such a great place, my husband (the real runner in the house) got a pair of new shoes too! My wife purchased a nice pair of Hoka Running shoes from this store for my birthday. The shoes are nice but too small. I called the store to see about an exchange which my wife said the owner would honor as long as they were not worn. The shoes were never worn but were in my car to exchanged. I called before coming into the store and was told that they would not honor the exchange with a receipt as they were purchased more than 30 days ago. The young employee suggested I sell them on Facebook Marketplace. When I called they were 35 days from the date of the charge. Terrible customer service from a specialty running store. The owner told my wife when I purchased the shoes that I could exchange them any time as long as they were not worn. There are so many good choices to buy high-end running shoes - in my opinion look at another store before buying at Totally Running in Cumming. read more

A full service running store. What does that mean? It means you are being waited on by serious runners, as opposed to the kids who work in most of the sporting goods and athletic stores. Totally Running also has some equipment to help you make the right choice of shoe - you can run on their treadmill to see how different shoes feel, and they can diagnose your running foot on another machine. I enjoy shopping here and always feel like I have spent money wisely when I leave here with a purchase. read more

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING! I was very disappointed in this store because I went in with certain expectations that just weren't met. If I choose to go into a smaller store that specializes in a particular item, I am expecting exemplary customer service. In this case, I wanted to try a smaller store in order to get a custom fit and that can only begin by asking the right questions. If you don't know how I will be using the shoes or what issues I have with my feet, how are you going to help me select the right shoe for me? If I am attempting to assist someone with finding the right shoe, I am first going to be asking a series of questions: What type of activity will you be doing while wearing these shoes? Do you have any current issues with your feet? Do you prefer a particular brand of shoe that tends to fit you well? If they are trying on the shoes, I will then want them to simulate the activity that they will be doing while wearing the shoe, (if possible). Perhaps my problem had more to do with the young lady who assisted me today. While nice and engaging, she was clearly distracted by her team playing on the telly. The first shoe that she laced up for me was so loose that I was walking right out of it and I realized it had not been completely laced. No problem, we adjusted. However, with each subsequent shoe she tied, it was very loose, with no adjustment to the laces and I had to have my husband retie them. If she had spent more time focusing on the fit of the shoes instead of watching the telly, we might have had a better outcome. This store is very small with a very limited inventory and I was not pleased with the color choices. I knew a few shoes in that this was simply not my store and I would not be purchasing shoes here. Perhaps it is better suited for the seasoned athlete purchasing a specific brand. I noticed that there are no recent reviews so maybe the staff has changed since the previous reviews were written and this may explain the disparity between earlier experiences and the one I had today. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING! Edit on 1/13 Just as a side note: the specific Asics that I saw in this store in bright coral was actually located at Off Broadway Shoes in Cumming for $30 less and in a more reasonable color. Their customer service is always on point, (yes I would say impeccable), and if they don't have it, they can order it and I usually get my shoes within two days. I bought my most recent pair of running shoes (Brooks Green Silence) at Totally Running's Cumming location. I had bought a Groupon for the store and this was my first experience shopping at the store. They had a good selection of minimalist running shoes from several running exclusive brands like Brooks, Mizuno, and Saucony. (They don't sell Nike, so if you are looking for Nike, look elsewhere). They brought me a lot of competitive shoes to try out on their instore treadmill. They were content to let me try each shoe as I wanted and make an unpressured decision. I can't believe that my first review is about a sneaker store (or should I say "running shoe"). I've always thought that it would be a great meal at a fantastic restaurant that would motivate me to finally create a yelp account. Instead, I'm giving 5 stars to Totally Running for their great service. They have this foot pad device to measure the shape of your foot. My mother thought she had flat foot, but the device put her closer to normal. Then, they video you walking. My ankles were rolling in, so they got me a sneaker that had more stability. They video taped my walking again, and I was walking fine. We took forever to pick our sneakers, but they were courteous and helpful throughout the process. I will say that their selection is rather limited. If you care more about finding the right "running shoe" over color or fashion, I recommend visiting this store. read more

This review has 2 parts- one for the store and one for a race they hosted. I was able to explore the store when I came in for packet pick up. They have a moderate selection of shoes and clothing. They had a larger collection of gear, such as hydration packs and gels. However, it seemed like all of their prices were higher than buying from a big box store. I really wanted to love this store, and wouldn't mind paying a few bucks extra if it meant good customer service and supporting a small business, but I just couldn't. The workers were friendly though! I was looking at Nathan bottles since I was visiting town and had forgotten all my gear at home; i couldn't get myself to pay $35+ for a single bottle. However, on a whim I signed up for and ran their We The Runners race (5k, 10k and 13.1) and I believe it was very well organized. Packet pick up was quick, the race started on time, and hydration was provided every 1.5 miles. I was very pleased with this small town alternative to The Peachtree Road Race on July 4th. read more

I work long 12-14 hour shifts in the medical field. My feet would burn during my shifts and ache for hours afterwards. I went to Totally Running hoping to get some advice. What I received was a computer assessment that provided them with the ability to treat my foot pain. The correct shoe insert combined with a great shoe for a reasonable price has kept me pain free. Today I ran into an old friend running errands in Cumming. Naturally, we decided to team up together to catch up and go shopping. One of our stops was Totally Running, a small athletic boutique located off of exit 13. Prefacing this description of the experience, I am a big and tall figured man, while my friend was a skinny and athletic male. Upon entering the store, there was only one female sales person running the floor. She immediately started pitching different shoes and was thoughtfully engaged with his questions and comments on their products. She got him fit and made sure he got the pair he needed to continue his running regimen. Not once did the employee ask if I was interested in trying a pair. I felt completely ignored. One could make the assumption that she didn't have any care to engage with me because I didn't fit the "look" of the type of person that would spend their money on running shoes. Instead, I figured she assumed I was the type to spend money on fried chicken or Coca Cola. All in all, a horrible experience. I used to shop there whenever I ran cross country in high school, but I will never shop there again after such a rude and unwelcoming retail experience. I would like to say this place is at the bottom of the barrel, but I wouldn't want to stray far assuming that this place belongs to be in the same sentence as the word "barrel". If your BMI is over 29, I wouldn't recommend shopping here. They might not consider you worth the time. read more

I have been buying running shoes from Fleet Feet for years. I was psyched when a running store was closer to home. I can never find a women's size 12, and I know for a fact I am not the only person wearing that size. Anyway, I'd been running in Asics Gel Nimbus for over 7 years, but they changed the style and cushioning, so I needed to try them on for the feel, as well as try a new shoe. They had to special order the 12's for me to try, and two of the shoes came in, but the Nimbus was going to take longer. I wanted to try them together, so that I could decide which one felt the best for me. The owner told me that he would not hold the shoes until the Nimbus came in because they don't normally carry size 12's, which again, if you are focusing on your customer, you cater to them. I told him I wasn't interested then. I paying between $120-$160 for running shoes (and I usually buy 2 pairs at a time), and he can't hold the shoes for me to compare? I won't give him my business. Fleet Feet goes above an beyond, and the drive to get there is well worth the service I receive. I don't see a store staying in business when you don't focus on customer service. read more
