This store recently did not credit my account with a payment I made. I called them to tell them about their error. it was hard to find someone to talk to; there is no phone option for "accounting". I finally reached someone who was very difficult to understand. They finally said that they would transfer me. That transfer got dropped by them. I called again. Again, it was very difficult to understand the customer service rep. I got transferred again. I explained the situation. I told them the name of the bank where my check had cleared long before the due dale. They said I would need to mail a copy of the bank statement to Belk in PA. Fortunately, I knew how to go online and then print the statement to my printer and then find an envelope and a stamp. I closed my Belk account. Just as well....they are always understaffed and unfriendly and hard to understand. read more

I'll start by saying I haven't actually SHOPPED at this Belk location; however, that doesn't negate the high quality customer service experience I had here. I had ordered a few things online from an early pre-Black Friday deal that I needed to return. Rather than deal with mailing them back, I figured I'd just take them to the store. Somehow I made the mistake of going to the store to return on Black Friday itself ‍. At first I thought what was I thinking?! But then it ended up being a great experience anyway! When I first walked in with my large bag of return clothes in-hand, I had no idea where I was supposed to go for returns. As soon as I could even look up and start to wonder, though, an employee seemed to appear from nowhere, asked if I had a return, and directed me to the return counter in the back. Once there, the line was short and socially distanced and it didn't take long for me to get to the front. The employee managing my return was incredibly friendly and truly a joy to interact with - something I don't usually expect to see from retail employees on Black Friday (understandably)! Overall, the experience was quick, painless, and actually pleasant. I have been back to this store for pick-up orders since this time and each visit is as convenient as the last. Was just in the fitting room trying on dresses for my boyfriends birthday dinner, and was walked in on by an employee. I was unclothed I only had underwear on I've never felt so violated in my life. She then proceeded to grouch at me and another woman who had come in without seeing anyone first about how we are supposed to walk past them and get a number BUT THERE WAS NO ONE TO WALK PAST WHATSOEVER. Went in to buy shoes. The absolutely worst shoe department I've ever encountered. Messy beyond belief. I found several pairs I liked but there was not a salesperson anywhere. Today I received excellent service in the men's department. I had to make a complicated order by telephone with different shipping and billing addresses, and Joanne was very friendly and efficient. She made my chore less difficult than I had anticipated and worked to make sure my order was correct and completed in time that the person receiving the gift would get it in a timely fashion. read more

Cashiers do not pay attention and let customers pass in front of you. I had two people pass in front of me while staying in line and they didn't seem to care or even say a word to them. I guess you have to be rude to shop here. Then their machine gave trouble and I got to wait longer. read more

Belk is the only true department store here in Cumming (and probably in many other suburbs). It is not a discount department store like Kohls. It falls somewhere between Macy's and JC Penney. Belk has very nice makeup counters (Clinigue, Estee lauder, etc). They also have plenty of stuff for your home (towels, bedding, small appliances). Belk is one of the only places I think it is worth having a store credit card for. Every other weekend, they have a sale and Belk card holders always get an extra 15% or 20% off. Belk is shaking off their imagine as an old lady store with their new "modern southern style" ad campaign. The store certainly has its fair share of older customers but they also have plenty of hip clothes and accessories for super-moms like me to stay looking chic and hip out here in the 'burbs. read more

The carpet needs to be replaced throughout this store. This is where my mom likes to shop... and shop... and shop. She's 80 now and I don't mind taking her shopping as she can't on her own, but Belks is her store, it always has something she likes- and last week, she found something for a dinner in less than 10 min of walking in the door , which saved us lot of time wondering. A bit too much inventory for me- sometimes enough is enough- but understand the need. I found a suit and with sale price was a steal. Great customer service here, really makes sure you got your qualified discounts and we use a belk card. They always push me to get a card, but no thanks and (ease off the heavy push of setting up a credit card... really!). I don't one. Still- great customer service, got what we wanted all on sale. Horrible online experience. Ordered Estee product ordered with the GWP added to cart when checked out the GWP disappeared . Contacted Customer Service right away got a run around about how they will send information if available at the fulfilment center. Continued contacting because they were not me and the last response was may be 4 to 6 weeks and for me to keep in mind supplies are limited. Also mentioned I needed to put in cart (which I did), In the mean time they continue to advertise the product with the GWP. I call false advertisement they should of pulled that advertisement until they took care of the customers they neglected to get the advertised promotion to. If you look at the post on FB their were several that the same thing happened to. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. read more

I know this is Christmas, but I have noticed it the last several times that I shopped at Belk's in Cumming. It is a total mess! Too many racks!!! You can't even walk between them and clothes are packed on them so tight that you can't even find your size. I honestly think the Goodwill is more organized than this Belk. The racks have everything on them instead of a certain collection or brand. 90% of the time, Lancome is out of my color foundation because "it is so popular". Order more! read more

NO SHENANIGANS HERE BABY! I call shenanigans when manufacturers try to sell me on the idea of full/queen for sheets and comforters or when they try to sell me a standard/queen pillow for my queen bed. I hate that! I had been trying to find a queen pillow for a guest bed and I kept running into standard/ queen pillow options. For me, that's like saying sorta pregnant, sorta not. It is either one or the other because pillow sizes vary. After running around to several stores looking for a "queen" pillow without success, I suddenly remembered that some of my favorite pillows were actually purchased from Belk several years ago. If you want sham pillows, you must purchase them here because they are phenomenally designed and actually hold their structure. Mine are at last six years old and still standing firm. I visited this store on Saturday and it was abuzz with activity but I headed straight to the bedding department where all of the pillows were 50% off. Touch down!! I found my pillows with no problem. Now why is it so difficult for stores to stock queen pillows? Stop with the standard/queen alternative. I don't have a standard/ queen bed so figure it out! I love shopping Estée Lauder EXCEPT at this store. Now the older lady who always has her makeup on "just so" & has worked there many, many years, is ALWAYS so sweet, polite, & attentive. It's the other one, the very large woman that works nights who makes me cringe. She is So Rude, looks as if she could use a good shower and speaks as if she is doing you a favor by being there. She is not doing me any favors - nor Belk or Estée Lauder. Terrible representation for both - and at the first counter as customers walk thru the door. This was my first time in a Belk and let me say the staff was rude and not very helpful at all. I went to return two shirts my boyfriends mother bought that he hated and had been procrastinating on returning. I went to return them and fully intended to buy him some other stuff. When I went to the sales lady to return them she said these are from August and are now are a penny. Uh, ok, but you have a 180 day return policy, I have the receipt so why do I care. She was upset since we took so long to return them. Well it's not her money and sorry, but we have been busy. Because of the attitude I decided against buying anything there. read more

I work at Bed Bath and Beyond and I had a customer looking for an item we didn't have in the store. She needed it the next day so I searched which stores had it and Belk came up. I told her I would call to ensure they had one before she drove over. I called 4 different times, one of the calls being to the manager, and no one ever came to the phone. My customer stood there for 30 minutes waiting to hear back. Very poor customer service on Belk's end. read more

Nancy in the Lancome Cosmetic Department takes very good care of all our cosmetic needs. For Christmas my mother purchased a bottle of Lie vie est Belle for me with the free gift which was delivered to me while I was in the hospital. We had purchased a new home in January and I have been in and out of the hospital which is about 1 mile away. Even though it is March I have just now opened my Christmas present and I found that my bottle of perfume was shattered during the move. I spoke with the manager on the phone and then I spoke with Nancy in the Lancome department and they replaced my shattered bottle and even remembered my mom. My mom is now in the hospital going through heart failure and I don't know anywhere else on earth that would replace a Christmas gift in March. Thank you all very very much. This use to be my favorite department store...not anymore. Did Christmas shopping there today and the store is so cluttered you can hardly get through the aisles. I always thought Belk was far above Walmart and very classy with their presentation of clothes. I repeat...not anymore. Why they keep ordering more clothes for a store that does not have the space capacity, I can't understand. I think a good look at whose minding the store would be a good step in the right direction. Normally we love shopping in this store and everyone is so pleasant. However today my mom and I walked into the store and were approached by some ladies representing a charity that benefits the Greenway here in Cumming. If you donated $5, you could get $5 off your purchase. We declined at first and the lady with the charity said if we found something we wanted to purchase we could always just come back, donate, and receive the coupon to be used in the store TODAY (11/4). My mom found some items she wanted to purchase and went back to the front to donate. When we tried to use the coupon the sales lady (I wish I'd gotten her name, she was super sweet and so polite) told us that the coupon is only good tomorrow (11/5). As she pointed out, it clearly said on the coupon that it was only valid on 11/5. When she called the manager Megan over, we explained that the charity was telling everyone who entered the store that it was valid 11/4 and 11/5. Megan, instead of providing even a moderate level of customer service proceeded to point to the coupon and repeat that it is ONLY VALID TOMORROW. When we explained we were told differently by the ladies at the front, she didn't even acknowledge what we're saying and continued to repeat it was only valid tomorrow and then walked away. I am embarrassed for the store manager, Kathy. She should be even more embarrassed that the manger representing her store would not honor a charitable contribution when ALL of her customers had been informed. So you ask, did she correct the charity? NO SHE DID NOT. She went back to wandering around the jewelry and cosmetic counters and avoiding customers. As we left the store the ladies from the charity were still telling people the incorrect dates. When we let them know, they said Megan had told them today was a valid day. Lastly, who would pay for a charity coupon and then leave to come back the next day? Who has that kind of time. Perhaps next time, the store should have the charities be in the store the day of the event, not the day before. While I will continue to shop at Belk mainly because of the customer service the salespeople (not the management, clearly) provide, I hope Kathy will address this accordingly. read more
