Absolutely amazing experience! Told my friends and family about the store and products. Kim helped me out and provided phenomenal, intentional service. She was patient and helpful and gave me her full attention. There are plenty of shoes to pick from and they made it feel empowering not overwhelming. You know with service this great and a product that is long lasting to expect an expensive item, but it wasn't overpriced at all, very in line with expected. This shoe store was recommended by my chiropractor suggesting a lot of my lower back problems can be related to my footwear. When you first go in they do a profile. You stand on this platform with socks on and it renders a 3-D image of your foot which they can view. They then video you walking with shoes on to get a handle on your gait. They use this info to come up with 2-3 shoes for you to try on. They also have a pickup table outside in case you didn't want to go in the store. Altogether I purchased two shoes from them and I've been pleasantly surprised with the results. I'm on my feet all day at work and my feet are flat so I'm often coming home to tired, aching feet. After wearing the shoes for a while I noticed a pretty big difference. The only reason I'd give them four stars was their customer service. The first time the rep only gave me one option in each shoe. I didn't like the color but the fit was so comfortable so I bought the first pair. She told me there were no other options just the ones in front of me. I went back a few days later and spoke with a different rep. He not only told me there were other options, he pulled up the website and stated I could order any type I like if there aren't any in store. Turned out there was other colors available in the store and I would've bought a different color if it was originally offered. read more

Big Peach is certainly a must for newbie runners & elites & everyone in between. They have a couple locations sprawled out across Atlanta, and typically have something you'll need for anything running related. I admit, I was utilizing discount sites for years bc I knew the shoes I needed and could get them for almost half off. When you run 200+ miles a month, you typically need a new pair of shoes every 2 months and that can get pricey. However, lately, I've gone back to traditional running stores due to pricing coming down plus the knowledge. I visited this store a few weeks ago to buy some refueling gels (GU and Blox). Also purchased a pair of Hokas for walking. I came back again, yesterday, to take my son for his first pair of running shoes. While this location doesn't check your stride or if you pronate (some specialty stores have that), they make up for it with excellent service. The guy worked really well with fitting my son into a couple shoes (he ended up going with the Nike Air Pegasus - which is a wonderful shoe for beginners) and then recommended some track spikes. So we ended up getting some Nike track spikes for my son too. The store has running gear, running recovery items, refueling items, and plenty of shoes. They do have the super shoes made by Nike, Saucony & Adidas (pro models that contain the fiber plates - which I HIGHLY recommend if you plan on racing and wanting to level the playing field some). You can also get a discount if you are an Atlanta Track Club Member (10% off). I would highly recommend stopping here for first timers or if you're looking to change up your running shoes. read more

The last time we needed running shoes for my niece she was 6 and I took her to Footworks in South Miami where she picked up a new pair of New Balance. Two years later, my daughter got some hand me downs, we are now in Marietta and Big Peach Running set her up with a new pair, which she is absolutely thrilled to wear. Our first order of business was to hike / run up Stone Mountain. It was a blast coming to the store for the first time and having help picking out a new pair of New Balance shoes. So I am not sure where to start with this review, but I suppose I should begin by saying that I have rather large feet (I have worn anything from a 14-16 depending on style and fit) and additionally I rather high arch. I guess I was just always used to buying shoes based on what the store in question had in stock (which was usually fairly limited) and just making do with that. Big Peach Running Company changed my perspective on that and what the shoe buying experience should be like. Not only did they have more options than most other local retailers, but they were willing to special order shoes for me to make sure that I was happy with my purchase. Beyond that, you are generally only paying like 10% more than what you would online for the same shoe, and they offer professional and courteous service to boot. It truly is a case of sometimes you get what you pay for in that when a pair of shoes I bought from them started causing pain in my ankles after a few weeks of use they not only provided me with support on how to deal with this but they took the shoes back and special ordered in not one but two different pairs of shoes to make sure I was a satisfied customer. As far as I am concerned Don should be considered the patron saint of footwear; as he was able to find me shoes that not only fit but fit properly and in doing so he helped me to shed about quarter of my body weight in the last 4 months. And as far as I am concerned those are two miracles right there. read more

Great place for running shoes. I think its always best to come to a store like this to get fitted for the appropriate shoes for you to prevent injuries. They offer a nice sized selection and very helpful staff. The staff are runners themselves so they are very knowledgeable. If you're not sure what type of shoe you want or need you can get fitted. They'll assess your feet while you're on the treadmill and show you how your strides look. Based on this they will start pulling out several pairs of shoes for you to try on. You can hop on the treadmill or walk around the store with each pair. Once you make your final selection they'll mention if other color options are available. I like that they have a great return policy in case your new shoes aren't the best for you after all (within 30 days I believe). There's also no push or pressure to buy. There has always been plenty of staff available to help everyone on my visits here which are weeknights. I suggest you come let Carla and her team get you running in comfort. read more

This time around I was shopping for hydration tablets for me. I know, weird right? I'm on a New Years mission and I need to hydrate post-workout. So I was told to get these tablets to drop in my water bottle after working out. Only problem - where to find them. I called all over town and lo and behind - BPRC has them in a dozen flavors! I called ahead and they let me know they had plenty in stock. I walked in the door and was directed to them right away - and young woman offered to answer any questions I might have. I picked out what I wanted and went to check out. So friendly, she and I chatted about a few things as she rang up my purchase. I love a nice retail experience. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I should've written a review sooner but since moving further to Woodstock, I tried their Kennesaw location and what terrible customer service. I have been to a couple other running stores in the Atlanta area to be fitted and this past shoe purchase at Big Peach was the best I have felt running in a pair of shoes EVER! I am one of "those" new runners that would rather buy a pair of shoes because of look instead of actual feel. Who would have thought when your toes went numb, shins hurt, blisters, and aches knees wasn't normal. Well I DID think that was normal until now. I have a sweet pair of new running shoes that help with my high arches and weird running style. There are a lot of runners that work at this store that REALLY actually know their stuff versus the price tag of the sale. The biggest benefit of purchasing shoes at a specialty running store is you really do get what you pay for. If you really are not happy after running in shoes they hurt your feet or don't compare to your favorite worn out over used shoes they are happy to take the return and try again. I am new to running and was unsure which shoe to pick after reading so many good reviews. I originally went to one of the big shoe chain stores and got very generalized advice and little to no help knowing what a good fit was. After searching Yelp for a more tailored approach I came across Big Peach Running Co. And it sounded like the level of service I needed. Stopped in and was greeted by Don. He took time to listen to what I am looking for and issues with fit I've had in the past. He then had me try on a pair and take a jog while he recorded my gait. He reviewed the video with me and chose a few pairs for me to try on. He patiently had me try on and compare each shoe until I found the perfect fit. He was not there to sell me the most expensive thing but to make sure I had a good fit. Amazing customer service and I highly suggest this store to anyone. read more

Rarely do I write a review, especially five star, until I've been into a place multiple times, but for Big Peach I'm going to do it!!!!! OMG! It was an amazing retail experience! Shelly was AWESOME!!!! I went in with my son with the intention of only buying a pair of shoes for myself. The Boy ended up with a pair too. :) We were greeted by Shelly as soon as we walked in the door. She gave us a great smile and was extremely friendly. And hear is the big thing to me. She was friendly and smiled without coming across as either fake, or sicky sweet. I hate both!!!! We went through the biometrics and both my son and I ended up with a different sized shoe than we thought we would. I've run in the past and knew they'd go big, but was still wrong! Shelly asked great questions about fit and listened intently to feedback after I ran in each shoe. She had me try on four different brands before all was said and done. Here is the important part. she was obviously more concerned with my comfort than how much the shoe cost!!!! I've done the running shoe fitting before, although not in the high tech way that it is done now, but the SALESperson always recommended the most expensive shoe first! Nice to see BP believes in repeat business over average register ring! I was also able to watch other customer interactions while my son was being helped. the other employees seemed to be acting just like Shelly. In other words, it is a cultural thing as well. Great to know, just n case Shelly isn't working when I go back! :) EDIT: The shoes ended up being a tad too big, so I took them back after running in them for a week. I started running in some 10K and Half Marathon races and need a really good pair of shoes to do my best in these events. The Nike Free that I had was starting to wear out, so I needed to get a new pair, and I wanted to make sure I got the absolute best pair that would help me run my fastest. I saw the reviews on Yelp for BPRC and decided to give it a try. I was super impressed by this store and the quality of service. I was greeted as soon as I came in and immediately assisted by the sales representative. He did a number of tests to help determine the best shoe for me. I was put on some type of device that measured the arching of my feet, and then we did a couple of runs out in the back where he videotaped my movements. He took a lot of time with me and explained what he found clearly. At the end, we decided that another pair of Nike Free shoes would be the best for me! This was not the most expensive running shoe, and I was grateful he did not try to push something super expensive on me. It looks like their prices are just the same as what I see on the Nike website. What was also good about this store is that he viewed my form while running and gave some advice on how to improve my form. He let me try on several shoes and do a little run around the parking lot to see how they felt. He didn't try to push a lot of other merchandise on me. This is definitely a great place for a serious runner. If you're only a casual runner, or just want to browse around, it may not be the best store for you. This is a full service store for those who know what they want. There is also a great supply of other running clothes and paraphernalia. I took advantage of my visit there to stock up on some GU gels. read more

Just an amateur runner but enjoy running 5ks! I used to buy any old adidas shoe and call it a day but my feet and particularly ankles loathed me for it. Have been buying shoes here for about a year now and have tried all different sorts of brands. The ability to have someone very familiar with the activity find a shoe for you is awesome. I even had some trouble as I have quite high arches and when I went in today I got setup with some insoles for my newest pair of runners and was out in just a few minutes. Visiting this shop was one of the single best decisions I've made! I had been experiencing pain in the arch of my feet when doing high intensity training. Others who train with me were fearful that I may have PF, so naturally I consulted webmd. Thankfully, I wasn't having the symptoms described so I made the decision to see a podiatrist for certainty. It just so happened that I met up with a friend for dinner who told me all about Big Peach and boy am I glad I did. I did exactly what you are doing now, conducted a yelp research review, and was pleasantly surprised. The next day I called and spoke with a lovely associate over the phone who listened to my issue and seemed to genuinely share concern. I let her know that I was wavering between seeing the podiatrist, and she respected that but told me to come in just to see how I felt after trying on some shoes. As was evident in earlier yelp reviews, you can tell upon entering the doors that the associates are very passionate and attentive. I had the pleasure of working with Don, who very transparently let me know that he was not a doctor. He inquired about the issues I was having, did an assessment of feet, and was very encouraging that I try on a number of different shoes. He also explained to me the importance of a quality shoe, how not all Nikes, Asics, etc... are created equal, and that it really depends on where you buy your sporting shoes. I was able to feel a noticeable difference with the very first shoe, especially since my arch was still somewhat sore from the day before. I believe that my soreness ended up being a great guide for judge the degree of support I need in a shoe and it made the process of weeding out shoes easier. I ended up leaving with 2 pairs of shoes, but in no way felt pressured to purchase anything. I'm can proudly say that after working out in one pair of shoes later that same day the degree of arch pain I felt was drastically reduced! I'm almost certain that the mild degree that was present was simply due to the fact that it was still a little sore from the day before. Needless to say, I'm more excited about diving into my fitness journey and certainly glad that it turned out to be such a simple fix. Don all I have to say is, "I'm not mad at them!" read more

I'm a fan. Been going to Big Peach for several years. I'm a mid to long distance runner. Steve evaluated my stride with an iPad video app. Showed me exactly how I strike the ground. Then we tried 5 pairs of running shoes. Comparing one on the left foot and another on the right, choosing the best feel each time. In the end, I purchased a pair of Pearl Izumi's which I had never worn before. The price was right in line with all the other running shoes I've purchased through the years, including online. I made two visits when getting some new running shoes. The first visit was an introduction to what they had available, and the guy helping showed me what they had in my size, and was friendly enough, low pressure and all, but didn't offer some of the tools available at his disposal to help me make a final selection. After checking with the Chief Financial Officer at the house, and getting cleared to buy my second most expensive shoes ever, I went back to the store the next morning, and the young lady who helped me was friendly, outgoing, helpful, knowledgeable, and put me on their treadmill and videotaped my feet as I ran for a minute or two. The shoes are the best running shoes I have ever had, and fit my running style extremely well. He helped me, but she made the sale. There were some toys for my daughters to play with, and the rest of the staff was very friendly and interactive with my little girls, which really helped me to concentrate on the purchase. After checkout, the staff somewhat disengaged (I was the only customer in the store), and didn't even manage a "Thank you" or "Have a nice day!" Minor stuff, but my interaction over two visits was a shaky takeoff, an awesome flight, and a rough landing. All in all, I would recommend them for good prices, knowledge of product, and with a little spit and polish, it could be a 5 star experience. read more

I have grand plans of running the Peachtree Road Race next year. That being said, I went for a couple of runs in my walking shoes and started to have some ankle pain. I had heard of Big Peach Running Store in a lot of the local facebook groups that I'm in and I knew I wanted to get fitted for a running shoe, so I came here. The service here is beyond what I expected. The woman who helped me (I wish I remembered her name!) gave me helpful tips for a new runner. She then assessed my run and finally let me try on (and run in!) 5-6 pairs of shoes. She gave me good advice as to what to look for in a running shoe, and carefully explained the difference between the shoes I was trying on. I have never in my life ever been in a shoe store where the salespeople were that knowledgeable about the shoes they are selling! I walked away with some Nike Air Zoom Pegasus shoes which I LOVE. Went for a 3 mile run in them and no ankle pain whatsoever! I was also able to try on a variety of socks that they carry. I'm so glad this store was able to find me a running shoe that fits my running needs and I can't wait to get some mileage in these shoes. Thanks again Big Peach! read more

I've been into this location a couple times now when visiting the Atlanta area. Maybe I'm missing something, but I just haven't been impressed. The store is quite small, so selection on core running items is there, but you won't find too much variety or options for less common models of shoes/socks/etc. Last time through I had been having some achilles problems, so I was looking for advice on shoes. I always seem to go back and forth between neutral and stability when I'm fit at stores in the DC area. I had to ask to be fit, and it seemed to be a chore for the woman working. They also had an arch scanner that looked cool, but they didn't seem to want to use it until I insisted. She said it was "usually just for insoles." Ok? Well what if I need or want insoles? Why close down that sales avenue for your store? The fitting was also awkward. They put me into some soft shoes, Nikes I think, and the lady said "you probably won't like these, but they're just for fitting you." Why say that? Maybe I would like them. Nike probably wouldn't be happy with you just throwing their shoes under the bus before I even put them on. On another visit I asked if their "RunATL" shirts came without the running peach (I get it, he's the mascot, but I like a more minimal look, and the RunATL logo was really slick by itself). The associate looked at me as if I had insulted her puppy and responded "why would we make it without our logo?" Here's free training for the sales team: a better reply would be to make me feel valued as a customer. "Yea that would look pretty cool, wouldn't it? Unfortunately it only comes with Mr Peachdude on it though. Maybe the next run will be different (smile)" So help me, Atlanta... what's so great about this place? read more

As a running novice who somehow decided running a half marathon in December was a good plan, a friend recommended that I be properly fit for a good pair of running shoes. I thus made the drive to Roswell to Big Peach, fresh off running my 1st ever 5k and thinking, "I just ran the slowest 5k ever! Maybe some new shoes will make my feet feel lightning fast as I prepare to run 13.1 miles in 2 months!" As soon as I pulled up to the store, I felt intimidated and almost didn't get out of my car. Clearly, running shoe stores are only for people with 0% body fat and they'll laugh at me as soon as I walk through the door and tell them of my brilliant action plan. This was about as far from the truth as possible. I was warmly greeted by Caroline, who proceeded to have me stand on a small measuring platform that showed the pressure points in my feet so she could see how I stand and so she could best understand my arches. After this, she took me outside and had me run in a straight line for her and then videoed me walking on a treadmill so she could examine my pronation. She then proceeded to have me try on no fewer than 10 pairs of shoes and to run and walk in many of them so we could find the perfect fit for my foot. For a beginner runner, this fitting experience was all I could ask for and more! As an added bonus, you can leave your old running shoes with them for 5% off of the purchase price of your new shoes that you take home with you and they'll donate them to area charities. I cannot recommend Big Peach enough for new folks to running and will definitely head there again for future running needs. read more

Disappointing. I have been a satisfied customer of Big Peach for years but don't plan to return. Several years ago I purchased a pair of running shoes that were fine in the store but uncomfortable on the road, I trained and ran a half marathon in them anyway. When I went in to get my next pair, I mentioned to the sales clerk that I definitely did not want the same style of shoe again and explained why. He said he was sorry to hear that and if it happens again to bring the shoes back and they would make it right. So, I filed that comment away and continued to get all our running shoes at BPRC. I was given a pair of running shoes as a gift-same style and size that I have been wearing for years with no problem. Unfortunately, after wearing them around the house and on the treadmill 2x, these hurt as well. I remembered what I was told about them 'making it right' so went in to give them the opportunity to do that. I walked in with the shoes in hand. Several clerks were standing around but I had to approach one and ask if she could help me. I explained the problem and her answer was that I needed to lace the shoes differently and wear them for a while to break them in. I asked about a possible exchange for a different shoe and after she made a half-hearted glance at the display, was told that they didn't have anything that would work for me. So, I left-with my painful shoes in hand. BPRC was happy to sell my family thousands of dollars of shoes over the years but unwilling help me with an exchange? I have always tried to support small, local businesses but I will look for a new place to shop for my family's running shoes. Luckily there are plenty to choose from. read more

I've shopped at Big Peach stores in the past and have been fitted various times, both here as well as at other stores, and have been fitted correctly as well as incorrectly. We can blame my weird feet on that. Anyways. I bought a pair of running shoes here recently and mentioned to the sales woman that I was having some shin pain, so when my shin pain became more persistent I decided to come by here and see if they had any recommendations. You see when you don't have health insurance, you'll rely on the guidance of running store staff to cure your pain. Paul ended up being the man to help me and his guidance and assistance was nothing short of amazing. He asked me tons of questions about the pain and what it was I was doing before, during, and after, etc. He was great. Fantastic. Amazing. I ended up getting a foam roller (the death of me!) and compression stockings to help the shin, as well as recommendations on when and where to ice my leg. Upon needing assistance with running skirts and sports bras I was passed off to a kind lady whose name slips my mind, but she was just as helpful and when they didn't have what I wanted she proceeded to call all the local stores for me. I left Big Peach spending twice as much as I intended, not because they're over priced but because I can't seem to control myself in running stores. I love you, Big Peach! read more
