Dropping in late in the day I was worried that most of the 'goodies' would be sold out. Not at all the case. They keep the displays stocked all day. We were greeted by a friendly staff member that was able to answer all our questions. The owner (Steve) popped out of the back and gave us some info on the development of the business which is a good story in itself. The premade cakes looked wonderful, but they specialize in custom cakes (and cupcakes too) The pictures tell a story, but the attention to detail and flavors is why you should check them out too.

The flavors are creative without being gimmicky, which I appreciate. The matcha black sesame and the espresso choco both hit, but that passionfruit honey butter cake was the one. Bright, balanced, just really well done. Honestly the density of ube cake was great but it didn't really taste of.... anything You can tell there's real thought behind the bakes though. Not just throwing trendy ingredients together, but actually making them work. Jeezy creezy the line was long. Like really long. And it moved slow. I haven't had any of their other desserts as I'm not a big fan of these types of cakes, but they do have a lot of flavors available.

I hadn't read the reviews before ordering, as I was frantic in trying to find a bakery that could do a small custom cake less than 24 hours before my Mother-in-Law's birthday. I was desperate and willing to take anything, and Leigh Anne was very sweet and patient with me on the phone. We settled on the Carrot L-Orange cake (heavenly). I forget the exact size, but I remember she said it would feed ~6 people which was perfect, and truly it could have fed up to 12+ people as that's how many servings we got out of it. That cake was tall, flavor-packed, and very rich. The complimentary carrot, nutmeg, and orange flavors had a warm spice that had me questioning why it had been over a decade since I last had carrot cake! It is criminally underrated in my peer group, or at least it was until we had this one. You know you've got a great recipe when even the folks who 'don't want any cake/don't like sweets' start eyeing it to make sure there's some left for them to try, and especially when they ask if they can take a to-go slice back home because they know someone who just HAS to try it.
