The Recipe Box desserts at Daddy's Tacos
    Alicia W.

I've read raving reviews about the cheesecake here, so I tried to go visit when I was in South Reno recently. I then realized the address listed is just their production facility and where you go to pick up your custom orders. I called the phone number listed on Yelp, the owner was so sweet and helpful! She explained that I could pick up some of their items at different businesses in town like Daddy's Tacos and R Town Pizza. Or I could create a custom order and pick it up at their location on Longley. I attended an event at Daddy's Tacos recently and saw the big case of desserts from The Recipe Box, so of course I had to try something! The cherry cheesecake looked tempting because I'm sure they can nail a classic flavor perfectly. But I decided to go with one of their specialty flavors which was a Peach Cobbler Cheesecake! It was about $8 for one slice but it's a huge slice that can easily be split between two people. As several other reviews say, this is probably some of the best cheesecake I've ever had!!! I don't have cheesecake all that often but I could still tell this was an elevated version of cheesecake compared to others I've had. It was especially fluffy, the flavors were perfect, and you simply can't just stop after one bite! There were cobbler crust crumbles on top and real pieces of peach slices on the inside. Do yourself a favor and go try some of their cheesecake asap! If the cheesecake is this good, I have no doubts that their other desserts are excellent as well. I'm looking forward to trying more cheesecake flavors eventually and probably even doing a custom order of a whole cheesecake one of these days!

Cheesecake isn't normally the dessert I crave, but The Recipe Box has me craving cheesecake from time to time. I first tried their decadent cheesecakes at a local farmer's market. They have since opened storefront - sharing a kitchen with Cherry Bomb Catering. Their online ordering site is easy to navigate and ordering a cheesecake is easy. They normally require 48 hour notice during the holidays so be aware of that. Once you put in an order online you are then notified via email when your order is ready to pick up. Really craving cheesecake and can't wait? You can also reach out to them via IG or call to see if they have any pick-up ready cheesecakes available for same day pick-up. Their cheesecakes are decadent with a good balance of richness, sweetness, satisfying any sweet craving. If you haven't given them a try, you must!

10/10 recipe box cheesecakes!!! I'll be singing their praises to anyone who will listen. I first found out about them at a Yelp event where I met a couple of workers and loved their energy and desserts. My husband absolutely loves cheesecake so I knew I wanted to include them in my desserts for his surprise 40th birthday party. They were preparing for Chocolate in Fantasies which returns this year as a major Reno event but they were able to squeeze me in for three dozen mini cheesecakes that were the first things to be eaten! So many people raved about them and I cannot thank them enough. MINI FLAVORS ORDERED: Whiskey infused pecan praline Cookie butter Oreo stuffed Bite sized PERFECTION. INDIVIDUAL (serves one) Caramel apple Pumpkin chocolate chip Churro These were slightly bigger than the minis and I got these specifically for only hubby. He loves every single one. Cannot wait to have a reason to order again!! I didn't get a great photo as I wasn't there to set up so relied on one my sis took but either way do not miss out!!!! So grateful they came through for me. They are currently housed inside cherry bomb catering, another great business. Easy pickup!

I found these guys at Feed The Camel early in the summer and have been a weekly shopper ever since. I'm a cheesecake lover, it is my favorite food. And I promise you that if you love cheesecake you absolutely have to give them a try. Davery and Dominique have all sorts of crazy ideas for new cheesecakes so I have a feeling they will have no problem keeping the lineup fresh. These are some of the best cheesecakes I've ever had in my life. I have eaten a metric ton of cheesecakes in my life haha. My top three in no particular order are the blueberry crumble, bourbon maple bacon and pistachio. And now that it's getting into fall season they're unveiling some new editions of fall desserts with pies and cobblers. I thought my diet might be safe for a handful of months but it turns out those are equally fantastic. This is a true family business, the kids are always there helping serve and run the point of sale system. Now that they've established some ground here and made a name for themselves they have a pretty solid regular following already. Regardless of being a regular or if it's your first time they always have a warm reception for their customers. Currently they're located inside of Cherry Bomb catering which is another fantastic group of people. For now you have to order ahead while they're on their growing track and can pick up in shop or have it delivered. They offer a variety of sizes for various group sizes and parties. Or you can find them at a few of our other awesome businesses. At the time of writing this I know that Dark Shot coffee and C's Mad Batter Cakery features items from them. And at the soft opening they announced they were also partnering with Daddy's Tacos. I'm telling you to keep an eye on this family. They're gonna make a big name for themselves at the rate they're growing. I can't wait to see what the future holds for them and absolutely am excited for the next crazy creations that come out of the oven.

Delicious! Today I picked up my cheesecake and was happily impressed. We ordered a blueberry crumble cheesecake for the house. It was a sweet way to bring in the new year. We were able to order and pay for it online with the website portal. It was super convenient. My receipt let me know what time to pick it up. They have curbside available where they can bring it out to your car too. I was first introduced to this company when I went to feed the camel. Then I had the opportunity to attend their grand opening at the Cherry Bomb Catering building. It's a family business. So far I have tried the original cheesecake, lemon cheesecake, and peach cobbler. Yup that's right they sell cobbler too. They also have seasonal items on their menu for a limited time. Also they can do parties and baby showers for desserts. Every time I go, I am greeted with smiles and positivity from the whole family. I'm excited to see this here in Reno. Thank you for making our city your home.

It doesn't get any better than a cheesecake from The Recipe Box. Love this team! I have experienced their greatness at various community events starting this past summer and I just can't get enough. Professional, Delicious treats, and good people. Today I was able to support the business by ordering a customized cheesecake bite tray for my office Halloween luncheon. They loved every bite! My tray included flavors such as churro, blueberry crumble, and classic cheesecake bites. When I say the tray didn't stand a chance believe me. I was pleased my team enjoyed their special treat and hearing how excited they are about reaching out to make their own personal orders for future gatherings. All in all, today was a good day at the office with the help of the Recipe Box Fam. I appreciate them for taking my request and making sure I had a quality experience. From order to pick up everything was smooth. One hiccup trying to find the pick up location but I'm blaming google maps. Thank you again Recipe Box Fam. Keep producing great products and I'll be back for more!

Found this gem at feed the camel. The co-owner was super sweet with us. They had so many options but we decided to go with the small cheesecakes. The Oreo was perfect... not too sweet and tasted delicious. Also got the traditional cheesecake-- simple and so tasty. If you see them, check out their menu! A good-- not overwhelming-- sweet treat!

Absolutely amazing cheesecakes, cobblers, and pies! I've been ordering from them for every small to big gatherings at the house, and it's always the big hit and highlight of the party. To illustrate my point, I had taken out the strawberry cheesecake before dinner was served and guests were so excited to try, everyone ended up eating dessert before the entree -- the cheesecake was completely decimated, in a good way! What makes their dessert different is the balance of sweetness and the proportion and taste of the crust (plus beautiful presentation). It's not overly sweet, so you don't feel sick or put off after eating. The crust is more substantial than other cheesecakes I've had, which helps balances the filling portion. Every bite is a perfect bite. They offer different sidings, from the mini bites that are perfect for kids (they pop them in their mouths easily with no mess), to ones that are good for tastings, to fill on birthday party size. They also make really special gifts for family and friends. Absolutely recommend for food made with genuine love!

We ordered the BBQ Pork Buns, Minced Pork Dumplings, and Sui Mai. We took everything home and steamed it ourselves. I also picked up a Napoleon pastry from the bakery case. The BBQ Pork Bun was good with nice flavor. I would order it again, especially since I don't know of many other places in Reno where I can get one of my favorite dim sum items. The Minced Pork Dumplings, however, were not for us. I believe the flavor of the Chinese leek may have been what turned us off. As for the Napoleon, it wasn't very sweet or particularly flavorful, and it made quite a mess to eat. Not something I'd reorder. The Sui Mai was delicious, and I would definitely order it again. This was the winner of our take home feast. While not everything was a hit for us, we'd return for the Sui Mai and BBQ Pork Buns and other explore some other items that we have yet to try.

As a longtime Reno customer I've watched them grow from a single location into a multi-state restaurant group with six locations across Nevada and Tennessee -- and that growth is well deserved. That said I do want to share one honest observation. On top of premium pricing -- which I'm happy to pay for quality -- Perenn also charges subscribers for their Substack newsletter. For an independent bakery scraping by, that makes complete sense. For a thriving six-location restaurant group with real momentum and expansion capital, it feels like a bridge too far. The brand story and the people behind it are genuinely compelling -- that content should be how you invite customers deeper into your world, not an additional revenue line. The food earns five stars. The Substack paywall earns a raised eyebrow. Share your story freely -- you've clearly earned the audience.
