    Passionfruit Honey Butter Cake

Love Breadgirl's delicious, unique bakes! Stopped by her popup at The Eddy last weekend and ordered one of everything that was left...matcha-black sesame cookie, espresso-choco cookie, banana caramel-miso cookie, ube-coconut pound cake and the star of the show, the passionfruit-honey butter cake! Can't wait for the next batch of treats!

Stopped by the Breadgirl Bakery pop-up outside of Pangolin. Not completely sure of the name but I got a gorgeous cinnamon bun topped with a delicious pecan topping. It was absolutely delicious and paired wonderfully with my Pumpkin Spice Horchata from Pangolin. Cant wait to try the next new treat from Breadgirl!

I had these delectable pastries when there was a pop up at Pangolin (coffee deliciousness!). There was a line way before the pop up started but it moved fast. I got the Banana Miso Cookie, the Blueberry Cornbread Cookie, and the Butter Pecan Cinnamon Bun! Everything's so good! I would definitely get more next time! She definitely sells the best pastries in town!

We stopped by the pop-up at the Midnight Coffee Roasting and the line went by fast. The treats were incredible, I highly recommend trying the banana miso cookie before it's gone. She's amazing and really cares about her work!!

After trying their sweet treats at the farmers market I knew this would be a great addition to my backyard wedding. The perfect taste to let people have a treat but not feel weighed down by a many tiered cake! We had banana miso cookies, matcha black sesame, ube coconut cake and a passion fruit honey cake. They arrived on time arranged everything beautifully and even left a tray when we didn't have enough on our trays. Easy to communicate with and the guests were ASTOUNDED. Catch them at their next pop up!!

I will always be a Breadgirl loyalist until the day I die! Keep in mind this is a popup bakery with no physical location, which in my opinion adds to the fun! Jalene, the owner and brains (and braun) behind Breadgirl (who is super nice to her customers) whips up Asian inspired flavors for her pastries, which include her tiramisus, which include mango lassi, strawberry matcha, biscoff, and hibiscus, along with banana miso cookies, black sesame matcha cookies, ube cinnamon rolls, cherry blossom shortbread cookies, pandan coconut cakes, hojicha dulce de leche cakes, oh, I could go on! but this review will be way too long. She has done popups at the Holland Project, Lululemon, the Nevada Fine Arts store, and many more to come! Just keep in mind that if you want to get your hands on her pastries, they can sell out quickly, so make sure to line up once she sets up shop! During my first time getting Breadgirl, I did not line up until about 20 minutes after she was fully set up, so I could only get a few banana miso cookies (which were really good and the banana taste isn't too overpowering), since everything else was sold out. If you're looking for something new and exciting to try, catch Breadgirl at an event! The easiest way to do that is to follow her on Instagram, which is @breadgirlbakery.

We ordered the Dust Storm: a vanilla milkshake with chocolate bits, topped with a giant blondie skewered dramatically on top, plus whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle. The rim of the jar was coated in marshmallow dip and graham cracker crumbs because apparently subtlety has left the chat. Honestly, the presentation was on point and exactly the kind of milkshake kids dream about. Which is why we ordered it. My tween declared it "the best milkshake I've ever seen in my life," and honestly, that alone made it worth the stop on our mother-daughter trip. Taste-wise, it leaned very sweet for me and didn't have a ton of flavor depth beyond sugar overload. But clearly the goal here is maximal fun and aesthetic, and they absolutely nailed that. It's basically a photo op you can drink. The shop itself was surprisingly quiet when we visited in the evening--we had the whole place to ourselves--but there were games to play while waiting for our order (we pulled out Pick Up Sticks, which transported me straight back to my 90s childhood living room). The ladies at the counter were also incredibly kind and patient explaining the menu and flavors to us. If you're looking for an over-the-top dessert experience your kids will talk about for days, this is your place.

She absolutely loves this place and even claims it's better than Insomnia Cookies so of course, we had to see for ourselves. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted, and the customer service was honestly 10/10. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and patient while we decided which flavors to try. We picked out a variety of cookies, and I will say they are big, thick, and fluffy. Visually, they're impressive, and texture-wise they're soft and indulgent. Flavor-wise, they were good... but for me personally, they were just a little too sweet. Almost overwhelmingly sweet. If you love ultra-sugary, decadent desserts, this will probably be your dream spot. They're definitely high-quality cookies just not quite my personal favorite because of the sugar level. I'd love to see slightly more balance in sweetness so the other flavors can shine. Would I come back? Yes. Would I pace myself next time? Also yes. Overall, great service, beautiful cookies, and a fun dessert stop in Reno just be ready for a serious sugar rush.

Conveniently located in Midtown. The girls working were friendly and gave us a rundown. We ordered a 4-pk. Our four: a parent trap, the bueno and two crave chocolate chips. One crave chocolate chip boxed separately for my little. I wish our cookies were warm like fresh out of the oven. That was a huge bummer and took away from this initial experience. Our cookies were just okay. We have a favorite cookie shop in Carson and I think we'll skip Crave cookies next time. The service was good, but the product/value missed the mark for us.

We ordered the BBQ Pork Buns, Minced Pork Dumplings, and Sui Mai. We took everything home and steamed it ourselves. I also picked up a Napoleon pastry from the bakery case. The BBQ Pork Bun was good with nice flavor. I would order it again, especially since I don't know of many other places in Reno where I can get one of my favorite dim sum items. The Minced Pork Dumplings, however, were not for us. I believe the flavor of the Chinese leek may have been what turned us off. As for the Napoleon, it wasn't very sweet or particularly flavorful, and it made quite a mess to eat. Not something I'd reorder. The Sui Mai was delicious, and I would definitely order it again. This was the winner of our take home feast. While not everything was a hit for us, we'd return for the Sui Mai and BBQ Pork Buns and other explore some other items that we have yet to try.
