Beware of Carlos. He'll make you think that he's on your side and looking out for you. He'll even make you think like he's your new BFF. Don't fall for his sweet talking. He's just sizing you up to see how he could make a quick buck off of you by overcharging and then giving you subpar equipment. He'll do this because he thinks you don't know anything about security products anyway and will never find out. His bosses probably condone this practice. Stay away from them and go somewhere else. Security equipment dealers are dime a dozen. Don't be fooled by their BBB and Google ratings. Those are carefully solicited. read more

I was looking to replace my home security system (cameras and alarms). I had 6 cameras installed as well and a 2 zoned alarm system. They entire team from sales to technicians were professional and provided me all the details needed. The install was a breeze. I did have a slight issue with viewing the cameras on my TV. I called and they sent another tech over quickly. It was a quick fix with a TV setting. What I love is that I have the most update to date technology and do not have to pay a monthly fee for my cameras. I would recommend Total Security. read more

Paid quite a bit of money to have security cameras installed by Total Security, thinking I was receiving quality equipment. That was my first mistake! Then after having the unit installed, it took several comebacks to get the system to work properly. I mean many! Much equipment failed, especially, several cameras had to be replaced. I must say, everyone working there were very pleasant to deal with. Too bad the replacement cameras worked out as bad as the first. Note: we're in NJ and worked with sales from the Bergenfield office but our installers ended up coming from the NY office so I dealt with both offices. All good! Total Security was the 4th company we talked to, for a quote on adding cameras to an existing system at a commercial building. They were the best by far - the others recommended entire new systems but Total Security could just upgrade the box, keep the existing cameras add 3 more ~ all for less than the competitors trying to charge more for entire new systems. The new box increased the image quality of the existing cameras so it is like a whole new system. The app interface is so much better than what we had - the whole thing is a huge improvement. And they offer lifetime tech support which is a great bonus! Working with Total Security was great, too. The salesman from the NJ office, Tom, was professional, personable, made the effort to consult with his team because our building had some tricky aspects to it. They called for appointment reminders the day before. Tom called a week after it was installed to make sure everything was going well. The installation team came from NY (Sean & Scott) and they "went the extra mile" - willing to work in a crawl space, working patiently around & through occupied offices, making sure everything was done as best, clean and effective as possible. Took all day but they did not charge extra. The proposal was for the job, not the hours. It just took the time it took to do it well & right. I was impressed. I don't even think they stopped to eat! I installed 8 new cameras into my home security system using total security. I found out that they only pay their camera technicians around minimum wage so that was a red flag because they charge more than their competitors. Anyway, one of the eight cameras had a malfunction within the line. It was visible so it's obviously a faulty cable they used. When I requested that they repair the camera cable they told me I'd have to pay $350. Greed has never worked in favor of companies like this. DO NOT use their services, unless you want to pay more for less of a quality deserved for your security. read more

Stopped in store and asked some questions, week or so later, call asking for an estimate. They send a guy that started working for them two weeks prior, this guy looks over my ENTIRE house and while doing so, tells me where the wiring will run, telling me that the installers will need to get behind or over certain furniture, to include the steps that go upstairs at the point of the ceiling. We sit down and discuss cameras, DVR and screen for viewing. I very carefully picked out the cameras, did not want a screen because he and I discussed that I would view the cameras on my MAC which was where the wiring would feed back to, where my modem is located. He writes up invoice, I put deposit down. I call office and set-up installation date. Now I have to start moving furniture and knick-knacks for wiring access. Installers come, I take them to where I was told the wiring would go and the very nice guy tells me he is not installing them where I had moved all the furniture and dressers away from and covered stuff in case of drilling. Now they install everything and I go outside to see all the cameras and they are not the cameras I requested. I called the office and spoke with John or Matt or whoever and they said if I want them changed they can change them, but not that day I was told because they guys get off at 4pm and they have another job to install. I took a day off of work for the installation and because of "new" guy that did not write the specific cameras I requested, I would have to take another day off, NOT. I said no, forget it, I'll deal with the one's that they installed. The Installers set-up my MAC with the software and gave me a VERY BRIEF explanation as to how to work the system and they were gone, afterall, they could not spend much time with me being they had another job. I have had a slew of problems from the get-go. To start, First, I was told after all of the installation and onto installing the software or program into my MAC, that they program DOES NOT support Google Chrome or Firefox, I have to use SAFARI. So if I don't want to use SAFARI, I am F'kd. Then, did you know if you own and use your MAC for their system, you are going to have LOTS of glitches, and that is BECAUSE MAC does not support this surveillance system. So from there it went on to not being able to view the cameras to not being able to view the system on my smart phone. When this happens, they want your password to get into the system, which I am not giving them. So I have had to come down to their store, leaving work early to get there and put in my password. See, if you don't change your password, they can view your house whenever they want. I would hate for someone not to change their password after the installation, especially if you have inside house cameras. So something they should AUTOMATICALLY tell their clients, which they don't, change the password you give us to install the program, this way we can't view your house when we feel like it. So being they have very limited hours, you can't get them after a certain hour during the week, Saturdays, like today when an alarm was sounding from a box they installed, I called their office five times, left three voicemails and even called their New Jersey office and left a vm there as well, AND NOT ONE RETURN PHONE CALL. I do happen to have a cell number I can call, but I only want to use in an emergency and so today, I texted I and I was told call the office, tech support is the only one there today. Why should I call tech support AGAIN, being I left three messages, one on the TECH support vm, one on the SERVICE vm and one on the main vm. Isn't that the purpose of leaving a vm, so someone can call you back. Well, I ended up disconnecting the power stripe to this box that both owner and techy state that piece does not have an alarm. Well, it was ringing in our house for hours after we had a problem with the modem. Needless to say, techy called, his name is Greg and he is the only saving grace for this company. Jane at the front desk is pretty nice too. It is not so much the employees, well, definitely the dip-shit that gave me my estimate, he was and is useless. And to think he came from working for Verizon, no wonder he is no longer with Verizon. So it seems that they do not have their system features up to par, they should definitely tell people about the MAC not being an acceptable computer for their program and the BROWSER you use you will not be able to be used with their program. The issue with the MAC is a number of things, just an example, you cannot zoom in on a MAC with their program. I could go on and on, but I will say that it is amazing that they have a book on the table when you walk in that has all thank you letters, but no one gets to read the bad letters, like you will never see a copy of this letter in their book. I had Total Security come to my home to install a few cameras and they did such a great job. Once they arrived they informed me what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. The workers took 2 days and were very meticulous with the installation. Some companies they rush to do the job but Total Security took their time and made sure everything was in good order. I called this place based off the google reviews that I saw. I called once and they took my information down and said someone would call me the next day to setup a visit to check my house. I let a few days go by and I called the following week. They again took my information down and it's been over a week now and still haven't heard from anyone. Every employee I dealt with has been so professional, knowledgeable, hardworking and polite. From David who gave me the quote and took off his shoes each time he walked back into my home (without my asking him to) to Ivan the installer- who worked hours after normal quitting time till he got everything done for me because I was unavailable the next day. I put a camera security system in my frozen yogurt shops in the Hamptons with Total Security. They paid for themselves 100 times over within the first year. The company is one of the most professional and responsive service outfits I have ever worked with. Even a year later- with no service contract - if I cal with a question or problem ( I.e.
