I had just moved into a new apartment, the previous tenants had lost the key to the apartment's mailbox and the building did not do key replacements. So it was going to be a while before I could get a new replacement. I was informed of this when I had one hour before I was unavailable for another 4 hours. So time was limited. My landlord recommended Total security, a company he trusted and he was completely in the right to do so. Freddy Gerard of Total Security came over no questions asked, in the middle of a busy day, and replaced the mailbox lock in 10 minutes. He was respectful, professional, efficient, and did a perfect job. And on top of it all, he gave me not one, but two keys for it. I could have spent up to a week trying to figure this out and there is no telling what mail I could have missed. But thanks to Freddy and Total Security, I was spared of this. I highly recommend you use total security. read more

I tried calling them to use them for their services when I called I asked if this was total security the guy would not tell me is extremely rude, telling me why should he tell me who he is if I'm the one that called him. What kind of business does this. Sounds like they don't want any make any money or do any services. The guy talk to is a piece of work. read more

Freddy did a fantastic job replacing several locks, making keys and helping fix some door hardware. He was efficient, responsible and communicative. It's great to find somebody with extensive experience and also so easy to deal with. Definitely recommend! read more

Freddy showed up with a mask, was cordial and courteous and a really friendly guy. Moreover, we had three separate issues that were unrelated (dishwasher panel, closet door latches, bedroom doors) and he was able to fix all of them as if they were new. I had attempted to get these issues fixed with several other companies to no avail. Highly recommend Freddy and his team! read more

Incredible experience with Freddy Gerard / Total Security. He was the only Locksmith in the Boston area who answered my call on a Saturday (all other companies I called transferred me to an off-site answering service). My building had 3 other recommendations for Locksmiths in the area and all of them wanted to charge upwards of $500 for an "emergency fee" to even meet me same-day.... Freddy answered his line directly and offered to meet me within an hour. He identified the problem with my lock immediately and, to my surprise, was able to replace the entire padlock within 15min. He also offered to cut as many extra keys for me on-site as needed. I'm sure it's fairly standard these days for any locksmith to have a "shop on wheels" like this, but I was still impressed... Mostly because he didn't have to set up multiple appointments to complete the work. Everything was repaired/replaced and new keys made on-site within an hour and my nightmare scenario quickly transformed back to a regular weekend. He was prompt, professional, and wore a mask the entire time. Thanks again for the help, Freddy! read more

I had a broken lock and called Freddy based on seeing other positive reviews. He was out to my house in brookline in a few hours, fixed up the lock and replaced several old parts. He recommended some other things for down the road, but did not push them. He really seems like a nice honest guy, the kind of person you want to work with. Recommend. read more

I left our house in a hurry, with bundles & our dog in tow - accidentally leaving my house & car keys inside the house! I was upset with myself & feeling stranded on one of the hottest summer days. I was dreading having to start hunting for a locksmith. Luckily I had my phone & my friend recommended Freddy Gerard of Total Security who had done several lock jobs for her. I can't say enough positive things about Mr Gerard! Even though it was close to 6pm, he promised he would be there in less than 30 minutes - & he was! Despite the sweltering heat, he worked carefully & methodically on our very old stubborn locks - & replaced my lock, enabling me to get back into my house! He even cut extra spare keys on the spot! I highly recommend Freddy of Total Security & will definitely be using his services in future. read more

I had to replace my airbnb front door lock with a password protected one. Freddy Gerard at Total Security replaced my existing locks with a Schlage Keypad Deadbolt which I purchased from him. I'm very happy the job he did. The new lock works just the way I wanted and is of high quality. In addition he patiently took the time to walk me through the steps of deleting the default password, setting up a new one and making sure I knew how the locking system worked. I highly recommend giving Total Security a call next time you need to replace or rekey your lock! read more

Freddy was great. I had a porch door that wasn't closing or locking because of an alignment issue. Even though there's a big storm coming tomorrow and he was busy today, he snuck me in so the door won't blow open during the big storm. Fast, friendly, and effective. Thanks! read more

Freddie was recommended by my building manager. He came on the busiest move in day in Boston, September 1st, on very short notice. He re keyed my entry and replaced knobs on 3 interior doors. Freddie was neat, courteous, and professional. The keys work smoothly and he gave me a hardware and labor warranty. I would recommend this locksmith. He did a great job! read more

Freddy is a total professional. Experienced, highly competent, and reasonably priced. For the main issue I faced, he outlined the 3 different courses of action I might choose, (from living with it, to re-keying, to changing the cylinder) explained the pluses and minuses of each. He left it up to me to decide what would best fit my situation and budget, and did not pressure me to choose the most expensive option He also solved another problem for me that a different locksmith had told me would be much more expensive. All in all, I am confident in his abilities as a locksmith and decency as a human being. read more
