When I moved to Vaughan, I needed a new optometrist and found Dr Hirji to take a look at my eyes and find out how my glaucoma was progressing. I was hesitant to go to a new doctor, as the one I had I've been with so long, but I can't say enough about Dr Hirji. One of the first things he did was use this machine I've never had used on me before to determine the thickness of my corneas which showed that I naturally have thick corneas which would explain the high pressure levels in my eyes, and that I may not actually have glaucoma as bad as previously diagnosed. Because of this we are pursuing new options for medicating my eyes which is a huge relief for me as those 3 eye drops a day were really killing my eyes and made it hard to function at times. He is very thorough, very good at communicating what's going on, and very professional. So far I'm very happy with his service and happy to be a patient.

She is very patient and has a cheerful personality which puts a BIG smile on my face during my visit :) I felt very at ease in her hands. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - overall, a very pleasant experience, thank you :) During the comprehensive eye examination, I got my pupils dilated. Be sure to bring a pair of sunglasses with you if you're driving - you will be sensitive to lights! Or you can purchase a fashionable pair in their dispensary. The clinic carries a great selection of brand name eyewear and sunglasses! We also did something called Optomap wide-field retinal scan, which carefully and thoroughly checks the inside of the eye for any hidden eye diseases, monitors suspicious areas and changes from year to year, and confirms that everything is healthy! During the visit, I also learned that Dr. Tang specializes in contact lens wear, LASIK consultation, and Ortho-K (AOK) overnight corrective contact lens for myopia control in children. Full disclosure, I was not a paying customer during my visit to Dr. Allyson Tangs location,…read morehowever, I did go in with some questions regarding a recently purchased pair of glasses from another store and my experience was so exceptional I can safely say that when it comes time to change over to my next pair of glasses I'm coming back here. I went to a trendy DT Toronto spot for my glasses and while the styles were great and the service was thorough, there was a disconnect with me having to go somewhere else to get my eyes tested before choosing my frames and lenses - a Wal-mart no less. I walked in and wanted to ask about the headaches I'd been having since getting my new glasses and Dr. Allyson took my glasses and ran them under a special machine to examine exactly what my prescription was and what they were comprised of. Thankfully everything checked out and Dr. A explained that because this was a slightly stronger prescription than I was used to that headaches were normal and to be expected. While I was happy with the individual service I received from both the Wal-mart optometrist and the store I purchased my glasses at, I think in future I would prefer to visit Dr. Allyson so I know that every part of my experience is in-house at one location. I was frantically trying to find somewhere to go because I had been going to the same eye doctor for 15 years! Luckily i remembered Heritage Eye Care. It is conveniently located at the corner of Markham Road & 16th Avenue. With all the traffic going on at that intersection, you can't miss it while you're waiting for the light to change. Even better for me, it was a very short 7-8 minute drive from my house. I called to see if i could get an appointment the next day. Thankfully, they were able to get me in within the hour. A few things that really stood out for me about Heritage Eye Care: They are open evening & weekends (10-3 on Saturday's!), conveniently located near transit, kid friendly and up to date equipment that my former eye doctor wasn't even using yet because she was so old school. The Optometrist I saw (Dr. Trinh) was very professional, informative and gave me some very helpful and crucial information for eye care. I ended up having to go to a hospital to see an Opthalmologist. He didn't just suggest MSH, but he referred me to one where i could get in immediately to have my eye concerns addressed immediately. For that i am so thankful (I called to thank them!). I no longer go to my Optometrist in North York and will be switching my hubby & kids over to Heritage Eye Care. **Yes, parking can be a bit of a problem, but The Garden Basket Plaza is across the street with a lot of parking spaces**
