The experience at this clinic is…read moreincredible - Dr. Tang is professional, very thorough with the eye examination, great at explaining, truly cares about her patients and wants the best for them. She is very patient and has a cheerful personality which puts a BIG smile on my face during my visit :) I felt very at ease in her hands. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - overall, a very pleasant experience, thank you :) During the comprehensive eye examination, I got my pupils dilated. Be sure to bring a pair of sunglasses with you if you're driving - you will be sensitive to lights! Or you can purchase a fashionable pair in their dispensary. The clinic carries a great selection of brand name eyewear and sunglasses! We also did something called Optomap wide-field retinal scan, which carefully and thoroughly checks the inside of the eye for any hidden eye diseases, monitors suspicious areas and changes from year to year, and confirms that everything is healthy! During the visit, I also learned that Dr. Tang specializes in contact lens wear, LASIK consultation, and Ortho-K (AOK) overnight corrective contact lens for myopia control in children. You can also make an appointment online anytime using their real-time schedule - very convenient and easy to use. Thank you Dr. Tang for making sure my eyes are healthy and for giving me advise on how to maintain/improve my current eye health and vision with your expertise. I went to a trendy DT Toronto spot for my glasses and while the styles were great and the service was thorough, there was a disconnect with me having to go somewhere else to get my eyes tested before choosing my frames and lenses - a Wal-mart no less. I walked in and wanted to ask about the headaches I'd been having since getting my new glasses and Dr. Allyson took my glasses and ran them under a special machine to examine exactly what my prescription was and what they were comprised of. Thankfully everything checked out and Dr. A explained that because this was a slightly stronger prescription than I was used to that headaches were normal and to be expected. While I was happy with the individual service I received from both the Wal-mart optometrist and the store I purchased my glasses at, I think in future I would prefer to visit Dr. Allyson so I know that every part of my experience is in-house at one location. They charged $200 for the annual eye checkup, whereas most if not all optometrist charge $110. The only reason I tried her is the close location. When I called, they never mentioned they charged more than the standard guidelines. They never mentiones the above average fee. 2. When I got to the clinic, they tried to sell me contact lens and crappy glasses while I was waiting. 3. The checkup is nothing extra, not like she used new equipment. 4. After the checkup, she tried to sell me glasses again. I said no. Then she tried to sell an expensive eye drop, like $50 per small bottle. I said too expensive. She instantly got offended and rudely grabbed the bottle from my hand. Shw kept saying I am not making any money... 5. Finally, the receptionist asked me to pay $200 for the regular checkup!! If they have told me before, i would never come. I have never seen a doctor so desperately and so relentlessly driven by money. What is worse, the prescription she gave is not accurate according to my regular glasses store?!

Then the office and the doctor would not acknowledge miscommunication (you just came in to get new prescription not the expensive "comprehensive eye exam") and still refuse to send free second referral to your specialist as a courtesy and apology.

It is with great pleasure that I write up about my experience…read more I went to see Dr. Lowy, after having gone too long without getting my eyes checked. I wear progressive lenses, and usually have 2 pairs - regular and tinted. After checking my eyes, and comparing the prescription to my existing lenses, she could not believe the change. As a result, she kept me in her office for over an hour to triple check them in order to ensure that there was consistency (which there was). The end result is that I am extremely pleased with both sets of glasses - truly the definition of "As good as it gets" (aka 5 stars!)

I found the optometrist very rushed and hard-pressed to try different options in the prescription to get it to where I felt most comfortable, and I constantly got the feeling that I was delaying them and imposing on their schedule. The owner of the business was very impatient and unfriendly when I said that the prescription was not right for my eyes and I wanted them retested and remade. I was made to feel very unwelcome going back to try get things right, like I was wasting everyone's time and money. I will not be going back there. I now have to to go elsewhere to get my eyes and glasses retested and remade to be what I actually and accurately need for my eyewear.

Dr. Boikovitis was PHENOMENAL with her. It was the most detailed examination I have seen. He ran several eye tests and spoke to her and explained things in a way for her to understand instead of dismissing a "kid" and speaking only to the parent. We saw him again this year for a check up and again he was thorough and informative. The other employees there have been courteous and helpful in helping us select frames for her glasses. They have moved to a new location not far from the old one and it is a beautiful upgrade. Would definitely recommend this place and I will also be switching over to them for myself.

Dr. Gallo has been my Optometrist for over 10 years now. I have been noticing a deterioration in…read moremy sight and always find changing my prescription to be stressful to get it just right. Dr. Gallo always take the time to create the perfect glasses for me where I can see my computer and my papers infront of me without using bifocals. I have mild vertigo and she has worked with me to ensure I have a very easy transition that doesn't cause me headaches or dizziness. She really knows what she is doing and has a wide selection of reasonably priced frames. So glad my friend recommended me to her years ago. I know I am the first review. She is always incredibly busy but I wanted people to know just how great she really is. Her team is also very efficient and courteous.
