Clean store layout with well curated frames. Frames are al the same price. I am on my fourth pair of glasses from this location. You could not ask for better employees. They have all been super nice. Today my frame broke at the Hinge and an employee by the name of Nelson was quick to fix without charge. They replaced frames with a new pair. I will be back for new glasses soon. AVOID. Built flimsy and cheap as possible, priced like designer frames....cringiest staff ever. My girlfriend got her glasses online but I wanted mine to last, so I went to Ollie Quinn. Big mistake, a month later my cat knocks them off the coffee table and they snap (1mm thick connecting joints on the side snapped right off) Naturally I think Ollie Quinn is a premium brand, I go in expecting them to replace the frames. "Hey I expected more from designer frames can I get these replaced" - I'm then informed that Ollie Quinn isn't designer, as though that justifies a shitty product... The lady I'm working with calls over her manager and the two agree that "the wear and tear on the glasses is beyond what a warranty will cover" ... I then point out that any reasonable business would replace the 7$ plastic frames, if only to avoid the review I'm writing currently - This is where things go from bad customer service, to the weirdest store experience I've ever had.... They then accuse me of trying to extort them, and say: "We were JUST about to replace the frames for free, but because I said that, now they aren't going to" ... The two of them go into highlight that our whole interaction was captured on camera (BTW its the Calgary store, 17th Ave and 4th, 1:30-2:30 Jan 5 2025).... Recently purchased my latest pair of eyeglasses from Ollie Quinn and am quite pleased. The shop is very clean and well-organized with many glasses on display that you can pick up and try on yourself. After a few minutes of perusing, one of the staff came around and asked if I need any help but left to deal with another customer soon after. I think after I told them that I was serious about buying a pair they were more invested ahaha. Overall, the price is very affordable and the styles are on point! Also, it was an additional $50 for the blue screen protector on the lens (and I really do see/feel the difference when using my phone and computer!) After placing my order without a prescription - they are very accommodating and let you email the prescription afterwards, but they do ask for a rough estimate since it affects the price, they emailed me my receipt and within two weeks, my glasses were ready! Terrible place. After three tries to get the lenses right for both myself and my husband they are still not right. We gave up. My husband had a terrible optical check with no tests for any eye disorders that should be performed at any annual eye exam. It's all about style but not quality . don't go there if you care about your eyes. read more

I tried to make an eye appointment to see the optician and I was told that I would have to pay for the full I exam upfront. I explained the lady that my health card would be used as my insurance coverage. Because I am on ODSP and that they would need to send the billing request through through the insurance company. The lady and gentleman I spoke with at the store both informed me that no you have to pay for the full. The exam which is $90 out of pocket. Then you take Your receipt to your odsp case worker/office to get reimbursed. I called my case worker and that is not not how it works! Its the the eye classes place and the doctors responsibility to be sending all billing requests through the insurance company. The lady said that they do not accept recipients who are on odsp. That is clear discrimination against someone who is disabled. I highly recommend that if you are disabled or on odsp that you do not go to this place. read more

My daughter ordered a pair of glasses from Ollie Quinn on or about December 10, 2019. She was told the glasses would be there in 1 week - that would be about December 17. When the order was placed, there was no discussion about possible delays, or issues with back orders, shipping or anything of the like. One week! It is now December 30, and my daughter does not have her glasses. No one has called her to tell her there were any issues - she had to keep calling to see where the glasses are. Last Friday, she was told - in no uncertain circumstances - that her glasses would be available today, and yet - NO GLASSES!!!! The store offered a discount on a second pair!!! No discount on the pair she ordered 3 weeks ago!! Why would she order another pair from this incompetent place when she has yet to receive the first pair! Such shoddy service is inexcusable! You should be embarrassed. When there are so many optical stores out there - especially on Queen West - you'd think you would make customer service NUMBER 1!!! And now she is stuck. She needs the glasses, has paid for the glasses and yet has no glasses. She cannot drive because she has no glasses. Ditto with movies or seeing people across the street. And still no one has called her to update her on the whereabouts of these glasses. She called this morning, and was told they are "trying" to get them today. After checking out Clearly on Queen and seeing quite a limited selection I decided to check out Ollie Quinn. When I walked in the guy was super friendly and told me how their pricing works. ($145 for the frames and lenses plus tax!) He helped me pick out frames, and they were ready in 2 days - super fast! Love the glasses. My prescription was 3.25, but if yours is higher you'll have to get the thinner lenses which cost $200~ something I forgot. They have lots of selection and cool styles as well! The service here is amazing. Everyone is super helpful and very nice when it comes to helping you find the perfect pair of glasses. My husband and I own 3 pairs so far (lots of compliments at our wedding). Ollie Quinn has a wide selection of colours, shapes and sizes, which is perfect because my husband has a particularly large head and a low nose bridge. That was one of the reason why it was so hard for us to find glasses that suited our personal style and fit our heads. I've visited Warby Parks before, but I still feel like Ollie Quinn has a nicer variety of frames and finishes/colours (from super polished to a perfect textured matte combo). So I really needed a new pair of glasses, but every time I go into a LensCrafters I feel as if I'm having to hunt down a salesperson who clearly just wants to sit in a corner and gossip about customers. Bailey Nelson is the complete opposite. Super nice, energetic and helpful staff will come ask if you need any help and patiently assist you with someone like me who needs to try on 1,000 pairs of glasses to figure out which one is best/fashionable/work appropriate. I honestly had such a hard time just picking one frame. There are so many options and all so cute and hip! The best part is, you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for glasses. So if I want to change up my style, I can go get two pairs of glasses for the price of a Prada pair at LensCrafters lol. You will not be disappointed! Go go go go go. So worth it. read more

My daughter and I were in Toronto for the weekend visiting friends Although it was unplanned we wound up going into this shop while walking around queen st. west. My daughter, it turned out, had lost her ray-ban prescription eyeglasses some months ago. This shop turned out to be a god send. Great frames, great service, great prices, great optometrist in the back. I bought a pair of glasses from Bailey Nelson really excited about them only to later be disappointed. The quality of the glasses is misleading. My pair broke under a year when the arm suddenly snapped off without hardly any force being brought to them. The lenses get scratched very easily despite the salesperson's insistence that they are "scratch-resistant." When I attempted to return the glasses under the warranty, the salesperson accused me of "abusing" them (her words, not mine). She was extremely rude. When I brought the issue to the head manager, he did not accept my request for them to be fixed under the warranty but instead offered to have them fixed for $75. I would NOT recommend buying glasses from BN both because of their poor quality and their poor customer service as well. read more

Accidentally found this place walking down Queen Street, and I'm glad I came in! The place is very minimalistic with a variety of frame designs. The staff were very friendly and helpful in helping me pick my new frames. I was very hesitant to purchase glasses from here, but their deal with any purchase for $245 (including the frames, high index lenses) sold me. I ordered my glasses on a Friday and was called to pick them up the following Tuesday, despite being told it would take 7-10 days. My old glasses were very thick (about 1 cm), but BN was able to get my glasses thinner than that even with a higher prescription. I am a happy and very impressed customer :) read more

i agree with the other reviews about bailey nelson. a good range of frames for everyone and this includes sunglasses with or without polarization. i do wish they had more brighter colours like white, they have a few but not too many. they had a few off cream ones but they were more for women rather than men. i was shocked that i could get a pair of amazing looking frames with prescription, transition and prorgressive for about $350 canadian and remember folks, there is no tax on eye wear. the staff said that the frames are made of acetate and that they were hand made in italy or hand finished. the staff were indeed not pushy at all. the inside looked amazing. very minimal, a few nice looking plants. i will be back for sure. this is good value for your money. you cannot request lenses by let's say nikon or essilor etc...they do their own lenses and their own coating. this is how they save on money i guess. i guess for the eye wear nerds this won't do. read more

Would never shop OQ again. Went in-store and bought glasses to be shipped to NYC. Store never called me to inform me if glasses were sent and never sent me an invoice--all things they promised they would do when I gave them my credit card. When i called store asking when the glasses would be shipped, they gave me a date but never sent me an email with a tracking number. On top of that, they charged me $25 for shipping when the website said free shipping. So I wrote an email to them complaining about the above issues. One week later, they responded that their store manager and area manager would call me. When only one of the two calls came in, the gentleman was non-apologetic. Instead of addressing any of my concerns outlined in my complaint email, he emphasises he wants to email me proof that he had emailed me an invoice. Instead of having my file on hand when I asked when I would receive my glasses, he says "let me search system for when we sent it out to Canadian Post." I told him, would have been nice to receive an email from OQ with a tracking number, every other online business does this. He then mumbles about Canadian Post like trying to blame them and then says OQ can not send out "personalized" emails informing customers about their order every time an order is places. It's just a form email and Warbly Parker does it. Bottom line, it's been over 2 weeks and I still don't know if and when my glasses will arrive. Be warned, you will feel the attitude when you walk into this store. read more
