She is very patient and has a cheerful personality which puts a BIG smile on my face during my visit :) I felt very at ease in her hands. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - overall, a very pleasant experience, thank you :) During the comprehensive eye examination, I got my pupils dilated. Be sure to bring a pair of sunglasses with you if you're driving - you will be sensitive to lights! Or you can purchase a fashionable pair in their dispensary. The clinic carries a great selection of brand name eyewear and sunglasses! We also did something called Optomap wide-field retinal scan, which carefully and thoroughly checks the inside of the eye for any hidden eye diseases, monitors suspicious areas and changes from year to year, and confirms that everything is healthy! During the visit, I also learned that Dr. Tang specializes in contact lens wear, LASIK consultation, and Ortho-K (AOK) overnight corrective contact lens for myopia control in children. You can also make an appointment online anytime using their real-time schedule - very convenient and easy to use. I went to a trendy DT Toronto spot for my glasses and while the styles were great and the service was thorough, there was a disconnect with me having to go somewhere else to get my eyes tested before choosing my frames and lenses - a Wal-mart no less. I walked in and wanted to ask about the headaches I'd been having since getting my new glasses and Dr. Allyson took my glasses and ran them under a special machine to examine exactly what my prescription was and what they were comprised of. Thankfully everything checked out and Dr. A explained that because this was a slightly stronger prescription than I was used to that headaches were normal and to be expected. While I was happy with the individual service I received from both the Wal-mart optometrist and the store I purchased my glasses at, I think in future I would prefer to visit Dr. Allyson so I know that every part of my experience is in-house at one location. Dr. Boikovitis was PHENOMENAL with her. It was the most detailed examination I have seen. He ran several eye tests and spoke to her and explained things in a way for her to understand instead of dismissing a "kid" and speaking only to the parent. We saw him again this year for a check up and again he was thorough and informative. The other employees there have been courteous and helpful in helping us select frames for her glasses. They have moved to a new location not far from the old one and it is a beautiful upgrade. Would definitely recommend this place and I will also be switching over to them for myself.

Dr. Gallo always take the time to create the perfect glasses for me where I can see my computer and my papers infront of me without using bifocals. I have mild vertigo and she has worked with me to ensure I have a very easy transition that doesn't cause me headaches or dizziness. She really knows what she is doing and has a wide selection of reasonably priced frames. So glad my friend recommended me to her years ago. I know I am the first review. I even emailed the owner to ask for help, and I never heard back. I had to fight to talk with the doctor who did the original prescription. She finally agreed to order a new pair of glasses. I asked for them to be rushed because of the special circumstance, and she assured me they would be, but now they're telling me they'll be ready on day 8 after I ordered them. I'm sure they won't be ready. They kept telling me the original pair would be ready on a certain day and they weren't. They lie to you to appease you. They never return messages. I had to call so many times after leaving a message or being told someone would call me back. I regret ever having gone there.

They were ready in a week and we are so happy! I have to say the best part is that the staff here is so honest, they don't try to sell you the most expensive pair of glasses - they will tell you nope those aren't right for your face shape. I was in the market for a new optometrist after moving here a couple years ago, so took my friends up on their review and decided to book an appointment. Dr. Permack was extremely kind, patient, and attentive. He took the time to run a number of tests on my eyes and make sure I was completely satisfied with the final prescription he prescribed. I also really appreciated that Dr. Permack paid attention to my family's ocular history and ensured that he ran a cornea mapping exam with some fancy new equipment he had! What most impressed me with Dr. Permack was that he was able to teach me how to put in contact lens and found me a type that I really liked. I've been resisting contacts for years now, and was so surprised when he was able to give me a pair of contacts that I could barely feel and actually could see through! I wear progressive lenses, and usually have 2 pairs - regular and tinted. After checking my eyes, and comparing the prescription to my existing lenses, she could not believe the change. As a result, she kept me in her office for over an hour to triple check them in order to ensure that there was consistency (which there was). The end result is that I am extremely pleased with both sets of glasses - truly the definition of "As good as it gets" (aka 5 stars!)
