I was suspicious that I might be being up sold. After over a year there was scratch in one lense and the Eyeglass Factory replaced my lenses under their special extended warranty. They were absolutely terrific about this and I hadn't expected this level of service. I didn't even realize that the warranty was there. My prescription changed this year and I just ordered new glasses today and the newest optician to join their staff was absolutely terrific. She very carefully explained some of the newer features and options and I'm looking forward to see how blue filter sense filters will improve or protect my vision going forward. I'm pretty much careful with my money (maybe if I had more I could be more careless) but in this case selling me on the more expensive lenses was the right thing to do. From my optometrist appointment, to picking out glasses, and receiving the frames, I had an excellent experience. The employees were really helpful m, patient and friendly. The optometrist did an amazing job at finding my prescription and realizing I also need help reading in addition to my long distance. I picked up my lenses and frames today and I can see perfectly! The employees who helped me pick out the frames were very patient and kind while I tried on every frame in the store. They help me decide which ones look best on me and help me pick two pairs that will go with all my outfits! I was a little nervous to shop at a store. I have never heard of, but I am really impressed and happy I went there. Would I return? Absolutely!

They charged $200 for the annual eye checkup, whereas most if not all optometrist charge $110. The only reason I tried her is the close location. When I called, they never mentioned they charged more than the standard guidelines. They never mentiones the above average fee. 2. When I got to the clinic, they tried to sell me contact lens and crappy glasses while I was waiting. 3. The checkup is nothing extra, not like she used new equipment. 4. After the checkup, she tried to sell me glasses again. I said no. Then she tried to sell an expensive eye drop, like $50 per small bottle. I said too expensive. She instantly got offended and rudely grabbed the bottle from my hand. Shw kept saying I am not making any money... 5. Finally, the receptionist asked me to pay $200 for the regular checkup!! If they have told me before, i would never come. I have never seen a doctor so desperately and so relentlessly driven by money. What is worse, the prescription she gave is not accurate according to my regular glasses store?!

Then the office and the doctor would not acknowledge miscommunication (you just came in to get new prescription not the expensive "comprehensive eye exam") and still refuse to send free second referral to your specialist as a courtesy and apology.

She is very patient and has a cheerful personality which puts a BIG smile on my face during my visit :) I felt very at ease in her hands. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - overall, a very pleasant experience, thank you :) During the comprehensive eye examination, I got my pupils dilated. Be sure to bring a pair of sunglasses with you if you're driving - you will be sensitive to lights! Or you can purchase a fashionable pair in their dispensary. The clinic carries a great selection of brand name eyewear and sunglasses! We also did something called Optomap wide-field retinal scan, which carefully and thoroughly checks the inside of the eye for any hidden eye diseases, monitors suspicious areas and changes from year to year, and confirms that everything is healthy! During the visit, I also learned that Dr. Tang specializes in contact lens wear, LASIK consultation, and Ortho-K (AOK) overnight corrective contact lens for myopia control in children. You can also make an appointment online anytime using their real-time schedule - very convenient and easy to use. I went to a trendy DT Toronto spot for my glasses and while the styles were great and the service was thorough, there was a disconnect with me having to go somewhere else to get my eyes tested before choosing my frames and lenses - a Wal-mart no less. I walked in and wanted to ask about the headaches I'd been having since getting my new glasses and Dr. Allyson took my glasses and ran them under a special machine to examine exactly what my prescription was and what they were comprised of. Thankfully everything checked out and Dr. A explained that because this was a slightly stronger prescription than I was used to that headaches were normal and to be expected. While I was happy with the individual service I received from both the Wal-mart optometrist and the store I purchased my glasses at, I think in future I would prefer to visit Dr. Allyson so I know that every part of my experience is in-house at one location.
