On vacation, found this salon through Yelp. Made an appointment online for 9:30am. This was super easy and convenient. My nail tech was a tad late, which wasn't the end of the world since I had nowhere else to be. Shop is quiet and and kind of "no frills". I did see a lot of dust and nails tips underneath the station, but that could be easily swept up. I got a refill on my pink and white ombré. Since I got my full set done elsewhere, most of the pink was filed away and a filled in with their product. The ombré looks awesome. However, the acrylic is pretty thick and I'm not 100% sold on the shape of the very tips of my nails, but over all they look nice. Good experience, thank you! read more

Horrible Full Set Experience by Zuly!! It was supposed to be an encapsulated ombre set. What I got was Pure Trash!!! Please be careful who you sit with here!! If I present a tech with something they don't know how to do, I expect them to say I'm not quite sure how to do that, would you like something else. Not botch the set then look surprised when I call you on it. I have an appointment to get to so I didn't have time for a redo by someone else. Total Nails was my 3rd attempt to get a mani/pedi on a Saturday morning (first place was closed, second was too busy). I got there right as they opened, which was great because they got very busy. I would recommend either arriving right as they open or making an appointment (at least on a Saturday). As other people have mentioned, the employees are super friendly and they did a great job. Their prices are a little higher than the place closest to my house but not ridiculously so ($35 for a manicure and pedicure). No complaints! read more

I made an appointment with The Don for a soak off and the place was already up and moving 10 minutes after opening! I had many layers, so the soak off took longer than expected. Omg!!! Impeccable service!!! Everyone was so polite and accommodating. Me and my family came and got 4 deluxe pedicures and waxing services. Been going to Don for a bit over a year. First of all, my nails are always absolutely gorgeous. I get so many compliments and no one else in Jax can do nails like he does, really! Secondly, they are indestructible! Any other nail place I always had to go back after 2 weeks. With Don, after a month they still look amazing and NEVER EVER break. Also, I always add stones to my nails and they will stay the entire time. The quality of product is incredible as well as his technique. First time going to this salon and was told to walk in so I did. The owner came out and began doing my full set and he was rushing and filing really hard. Most of my nails are uneven and some the nails had the top color peeking through. My nails are flat and some are twisted up and not shaped evenly. I always get acrylic and they never start to peel. 30 minutes I was done. As a owner and a professional nail artist, you should always do your best and take pride in your nails that you are doing. Your nails represents who you are.My mother came in also and she now had a nail infection. We have been to many nail salons and never in our experience had a nail infection. First off let me say that Don is a phenomenal nail tech from what I've seen on his IG...That being said I was not impressed at all with this salon. It was my first (and most likely last) experience at Total Nails. There was dust and nail tips everywhere - the salon did not look well kept at all. I came in for a gel manicure, the girl was sweet (Zuleyka I believe) but later on that night when I got home the gel started peeling off and messed up completely. I had to pay to have them re-done elsewhere the next day. If you visit this salon make sure the tech is vouched for, this isn't the cheapest salon in the area and it's frustrating to have to pay twice for something that should have been done well the first time. read more

I went online last night to schedule a next day appointment with her and was heartbroken to see she was booked until the following week. There was no way my nails could wait. I don't know why I keep coming here when it's so horrible. I guess because it's so close to my house. Let me try to calm my nerves. It's always short staffed. Speak of staff it's flipped so every time I come in theirs a new crew other than the little lady with her husband. I waited 40 minutes in a chair with an inch of cold water. Then she filled it up 2 more inches with more cold water. The pedicurist next door helped me and got me hot water and turned the jets off. If your looking for a good decent massage DO NOT COME HERE. Tonight my guy only did my legs and I'm like uhhhhh. What about my feet?! He didn't clean up around my nails after the massage so I can see more dead skin that needs trimmed. Went here for the first time yesterday with my husband and we both got the spa pedicure. The only reason we went was because it was next door to where we had lunch, but oh my gosh. It was the best pedicure either of us had ever had in Jacksonville. I don't recommend this place at all. I went in for a gel polish change, not anything special.. polish is all over my cuticles, they reuse files, buffers, etc.. they used the tiniest bit of lotion to massage my hands.. I don't believe this is a very sterile place nor are they concerned about it. I would steer clear of this place for sure. read more

I went in on dec 30th for a fill. I've been getting my nails done for a while now and just needed a fill. I don't remember the girls name I had but she was really nice. HOWEVER, it was the most PAINFUL mani I've ever had. And the worst looking one. I mean my nails and the cuticle area hurt. Like I went from being straight red to it now scabbing over. So she full on just cut me everywhere. The acrylic is terrible it's bumpy and the polish is sloppily applied. I literally went home and had to file some polish off that was like hanging ragged off the sides. I didn't realize how terrible it was and I'm just not the person to make a scene right then and there. I'm pretty shy when it comes to that. I'm pretty furious now and spent $46 on complete crap. I mean seriously it's terrible. She ruined my nails I'm so upset. I'm just going to get them removed at this point I'm not even sure if they are fixable because she filed them so wonky too. I called the salon today and spoke to Gigi which I see now she does good work for other people so I'll see how she does. She offered to fix it but I told her I just want them removed now. Im not sure what I'm going to do. I'm going to be going in and see if she can fix this and I'll give an update. read more
