Milton came by and gave me an estimate around 10am and they were here at 4:30pm that same Friday. I needed a one time end of summer clean. Prices were not bad for a crew of four and they easily collaborated and focused on the areas I wanted them to clean. All of the walls were wiped down including the ceiling. Everything was dusted and wiped down. Contents of master closet was removed by me but they wiped down all walls and ceiling. They wiped down all surfaces in the kitchen and bath. The last thing they did was clean all the floors and moved furniture to complete the task. It was a lot of work but the place is clean! They even found an interior filter in the microwave that needed replacing. They showed me how to remove it and re-install it. All in all it was worth it. read more

He checked on his staff just the first time while they were doing the cleaning which was nice but then he never showed up again. Which is fine too but it is not fine if customer tries to make appointment with him many times without reply. He could just ignore my msg for a whole week and said they were on vacation. Milton and his crew of 3-4 ladies do a very nice job. For us, the bathrooms and kitchen were the main reason for hiring them, which they do very well. We had thought that having the LR and BR's cleaned would just be a bonus. But, as it turns out, they do a very thorough job vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning the blinds in those rooms. And, they also change the sheets and bedding in the MBR, which is a huge thing, as we have a split king-size with two bottom sheets, four pillow cases, top sheet, and duvet cover. Man, it's great not having to do that ourselves anymore! I would imagine other cleaning companies do all that, and possibly do it as well as Total. But, I must say that Milton has been extremely flexible and responsive as far as scheduling goes. We have four animals, which means one of us needs to be home when they clean. (It also means there's more for them to clean.) And, we can't always be home on the exact days of our normal two-week schedule. I was a bit behind in setting up a move-out clean for the 2/2 condo I was living in, so I was extremely pleased when Total Cleaning picked up the phone when I called (that was not the case for three other companies I tried to call as I went through the Yelp list), scheduled to come out for an estimate the same afternoon, and then scheduled the cleaning for the closest of a few days that were open for the cleaning. On the day of the cleaning, the movers were running a bit later than expected, so when the cleaning crew arrived right on time, the apartment wasn't quite empty as expected. The cleaning crew was great in being willing to work around this, starting with the rooms that were empty. 2 of my roommates moved out at the end of February and I wanted to schedule a move-out cleaning. The bedrooms were fairly clean, except for where the beds had contacted the walls and on the windowsills where the windows were left open during hot days. The bathroom, however, was quite a mess. Scheduling the housing estimate was quick and easy via phone call. Quick 5 minute inspection and discussion of which rooms to clean led to an estimate. Played phone tag a bit to nail down a time for the actual cleaning. Milton was quite responsive via text message as we kept missing each other on phone calls. Easy scheduling of housecleaning for Monday morning between 8 - 8:30 a.m. with an estimated time of 90 minutes for the cleaning. Milton and 2 of his cleaners arrived promptly at 8:30 a.m. The cleaners started cleaning quickly after Milton showed them the rooms and bathrooms to be cleaned. They worked really hard and really well, considering they had another appointment to make (hard stop at 10:00 a.m.-ish). They did a wonderful job on the bathrooms; sadly the toilet seat in one bathroom was so stained that it will likely have to be replaced. The stains on the bedroom walls similarly will need a second go-round it seems, but they cleaned the windowsills thoroughly and made the bedrooms and bathrooms presentable (and usable) again! Very pleased. Cost seemed to be about average for housecleaning (after I checked with some friends). Overall highly recommended! read more

Total Cleaning has been cleaning our apartment for about 1.5 years now. They do a great job and do it pretty fast too. The previous company we used took 2-2.5 hours (and still somehow managed to miss a lot of stuff) but the Total Cleaning crew usually have our apartment cleaned within 1 hour so they are a lot more efficient. I also like the fact that they use more natural and less toxic cleaning products. Another big plus for me is that they are reliable. The cleaning service that we used to use would forget to show up about 70% of the time even if we called the day before to remind them. We have never had that problem with Milton and his crew--we set the next appointment when they are finishing up and then they show up on that day without a problem. All in all Total Cleaning is by far the best of the three companies that we have tried. I highly recommend them. read more

I contacted Total Cleaning for a quote, and received a text saying that they would need to come see my apartment before making an estimate. I scheduled a 5:30 after-work slot. Milton was a no-show. I received no word from him until 9:30 the next morning, apologizing and saying that an emergency came up and he forgot to contact me. Okay, fine. We rescheduled for 5:30 pm that day. ANOTHER no-show, and more than 24 hours later there's still been no attempt to contact me by phone. I got home at about 5:50 today and saw someone walking away from my unit, and found a Total Cleaning card on my doormat. Sorry guys, two strikes plus bad communication and you're out! read more

Completely unreliable - in customer service and quality I should have known when he no-showed for the initial estimate appointment. I agreed to reschedule because he gave what I thought was a legitimate excuse and seemed sincere. I scheduled a regular bi-weekly cleaning, but this did not last long. First cleaning went well. I thought the cleaning crew did a good job for the price, although they left a weird filmy residue on my kitchen counters ("natural soap"). He called to confirm the day before the second cleaning. They came promptly and the cleaning was fine. Third cleaning was a no-show again. And no good excuse this time. He wasn't very accommodating in rescheduling the cleaning. When it came time, they showed up more than 30 min late and didn't even do a thorough job (didn't dust the shelves, which clearly needed dusting- I had to do it after they left). Well the 4th and last cleaning, they were more than an hour late! They hurried through the cleaning and did a completely sloppy job. They spent maybe 35-40 minutes cleaning a 2000 sq ft house and left crap all over the floors and counters still. I actually had to get them back while they were loading the car to re-clean the floors. They acknowledged that yes, they didn't do a good job. The excuse they gave was that they had new cleaners. Well then shouldn't you spent more time to do a good job?? They clearly do not value me as a customer. Good luck trying to grow your business with this kind of service. read more

They come with a crew of 3-4 people and get the work done within 1-2hrs. Milton inspects all areas, when they are almost done, to make sure that they didn't miss anything. He is also very receptive to feedback. They don't use very harsh chemicals, so you don't have strong residual smell of chemicals in the house. I have my condo cleaned one to two times a month, but not necessarily on a predictable schedule -- between travel and frequent out of town visitors, I often schedule cleanings in a pretty ad hoc manner. Milton has been extremely flexible with this, and is always happy to confirm appointments directly via text message, which is extremely helpful given my unpredictable schedule. The cleaning teams always do a good job, including things like vacuuming couches and making beds if clean linens are left out. They are also willing to do additional tasks if you let them know in advance (e.g., cleaning cabinets). While many cleaning services drop in quality over time, I've not noticed this with Total Cleaning -- the job has remained consistently good.
