Great Great experience! This was our first time exploring the restaurant and it didn't disappoint…read more From the welcome in to the nice decor. Service was fast and the people were nice. The wife had the bacon cheddar melt meal and I had the 2 scoops and 1 side. We added one drink to share. Total was $28.26 and more than enough food. I had to help her finish hers. Hehe. The scoops I got were the jalapeño holly and kickin Kay. Both were phenomenal. The beverage machine was nice and clean also. I can't speak for the restroom as I didn't have to go. Needless to say we will be a returning customer. Keep up the great work!

A good lunch restaurant that starts with chicken salad, and varies the recipe to offer it's patrons…read moredifferent variations, along with soups and salads. Their website is great, as you can place your order online and pick it up a short time later. Not wanting fast food, nor a sit-down restaurant, I came across Chicken salad chick. It was a great compromise to traditional fast food. Honestly, these are my favorite daily types of restaurants. I was able to order my sandwich online, customize it with a side, and pick it up fairly quickly. They have an area to pick up your online order, so you don't have to wait in the order line. This area of McDonough gets so congested and even though there are many food options, this restaurant does not disappoint. You can sit down here and have a wonderful relaxing lunch in the colorful restaurant. The sandwich I chose was the Fancy Nancy, and was very tasty. the cranberries, apples, grapes and pecans were a great mixture to the chicken salad. This was not a regular traditional chicken salad sandwich, as it has a lot of chicken in there, which helps to fill you up. I also added a cup of their loaded Potato soup which was amazing! The best part of my meal was that it came with a mini buttercream frosted cookie! That was such a pleasant surprise. Looking forward to trying more of their food options in the future.

Welcome back to the table…read more I find that most people dismiss rotisserie chicken as "basic," but finding one that is actually seasoned through to the bone is harder than it should be. I stopped by the Cowboy Chicken in McDonough looking for something reliable, and it delivered that specific, wood-fired comfort that's hard to replicate at home. The vibe is laid-back and rustic exactly what you'd expect from a spot centered around an open flame. The Spread We didn't hold back on the order, covering everything from the signature rotisserie to the brisket and bowls. The Signature Chicken: They use a dry rub and slow-roast the meat over real wood. The result is a juicy, tender interior with skin that carries a slight, salty crispness. What stood out most was the flavor penetration; the seasoning wasn't just sitting on the surface. Unlike many rotisserie spots where the center feels neglected or underdone, this was consistent throughout. It holds its own without needing sauce. The Sides: The Spanish Rice surprised me. Fluffy, well-seasoned, shelly in texture, and the addition of corn gave it a nice sweetness. The Mac and Cheese was a bit of a curveball; it's more on the liquid, saucy side, but the flavor builds on you the more you eat. The fries were perfect and held a solid crisp even after sitting for a bit. We ended up getting a second basket of Fries because the crunch held up beautifully, even as they cooled down. The Coleslaw will be a hit or miss for some, we had mixed reviews. The shredded cabbage was thicker than normal but the other half of the table it was perfect. Tinga Bowl ($14.00): If you want something that feels a bit lighter but still packs a punch, this is it. The shredded chicken has a balanced kick, paired with corn relish, black beans, and a sprinkle of "Cowboy Dust" for heat. It's refreshing but filling. Layered with rice, beans, corn relish, avocado, crema it all balances out. Not heavy, but still satisfying. Brisket Sandwich (13.75: The bread was lightly toasted, cradling pulled brisket that was smoky and not juicy because we needed sauce for it but the flavor was there. Crispy Tenders ($13.25): These were a table favorite. They nailed the external crunch without sacrificing the moisture of the chicken inside.Crunch on the outside, seasoned all the way through, and still tender inside. The Sweet Finish I'm officially a fan of their Texas Peach Cobbler. It leans more cake-like than soupy, which I prefer. It tasted fresh, warm and held its structure, making it a solid closer for a heavy meal. Service & Value The moment we walked in, the staff offered a genuine verbal welcome. The service was efficient, and the restaurant maintained a clean, organized look despite the steady flow of customers. At roughly $14-$15 for a plate with two sides and a roll, the portion size makes the pricing very reasonable for the quality you're getting. Table Approved This is the spot for a high-quality, fuss-free family dinner or a solo lunch when you're craving real wood-fired flavor without the fast food aftertaste. It's dependable, flavorful, and worth a visit for the chicken alone. Follow along where food meets adventure - Shallonz Table.

Cowboy Chicken in McDonough is a great spot for a hearty, comforting meal!…read more I tried several items during my visit -- the roasted chicken, brisket sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and even one of their desserts -- and everything was flavorful and satisfying. The chicken was juicy with that nice smoky flavor, and the brisket sandwich was surprisingly tender. The sides felt fresh and homemade, and the dessert was the perfect sweet finish. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere has a cozy, down-to-earth vibe that makes you feel right at home. The only reason it's not a full five stars is because a couple of items could've used just a bit more seasoning, but overall the meal was really enjoyable. If you're craving good comfort food and solid rotisserie chicken, Cowboy Chicken is definitely worth a stop!

I finally returned after reading more recent reviews that were positive…read more Now the restaurant operates in a food truck in the parking lot. The service I received here was 1000x better than my first experience! I ordered the #1 Rib dish with collard greens, cabbage and curry chickpeas. I thought the rib bone was sugar cane, but it's not. I'm actually not sure what it is but assume it's casava/yucca. What a nice treat to add more food to the plate. The ribs were delicious, curry chickpeas outstanding, cabbage really good but wasn't expecting them to be fried and collards were good. The toast was toast. Overall, I give my meal an A+. I was unable to eat it all in one sitting, nice bonus in today's environment. Now that they have a dedicated space for the vegan food and service was great there, I would return. Thank you for turning things around. There are so few options for vegan food in McDonough.

But I'm always up to driving a little bit for some great vegan food. Definitely missed the driveway, regardless of the reviews I read! Nothing a quick turn around couldn't fix. Came on a Tuesday around 1:15. One person ahead of me and it took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready. So I sat at the table and enjoyed the music from next door! Even with my stalking, it still took me a minute to figure out what to order. The Moxtails are what drew me in. Also knew I wanted to please my inner fat girl and order two plates! LOL Rib Trash Plate - 3 sides that are included. Ribs - liked the texture and flavor. You're mostly tasting the BBQ sauce, a little flavor from their choice of protein but I appreciated the texture. Collard greens - Love that they don't taste like the greens I make. They have mushrooms in them. Also have this sweet and savory taste to them. Not traditionally flavored but delicious! Mac and cheese - made with nuts as posted, I'm assuming cashews but didn't confirm. Pretty good flavor, I don't mind it at all! Quinoa and chickpeas - multicolored quinoa, good flavors. I'd order it again. Not a bunch of flavor but expected that. Type of side that I get for the healthy factor vs the flavor. Moxtails - 2 sides included. Let me first say that the flavor of the Moxtails was very good. I was expecting there to be something in it that resembled oxtails' texture, so it was lacking in that area. The dish has chick peas, potatoes, carrots, celery, peppers, and onions. With the amount of gravy, I would have expected more rice but it was like a small spoonful. Guessing the peas and corn were included in the rice but not for sure. Cabbage - I'm a fan. Gives me this stir fry vibe with an almost smoke/char flavor. I will say that it was pretty greasy after take a few bites. I looked underneath the cabbage and sure enough there was a good bit of grease. Okra was good as well. Nothing special that makes it stand out, but good flavor nonetheless. I would order it again. Overall, I like this place and would definitely come again if I was in the area.

At first I thought the prices were a little high but then I saw what all we got and it was well worth what they charge. We actually were confused at first by the Vegan trailer outside. I assumed they cooked in the house and sold out of the food trailer but that is a whole separate business, when I asked for meat they said "over there." We went inside the house and we were greeted by 2 nice beautiful ladies that explained all our questions, as it was our first trip in, and we put our order in. There is a good bit of room inside if you want to dine in but we were on the road so Togo it was. We ordered the 2 ribs lunch, a half rack which was 6 bones and the pork sandwich. I got the hot bbq on the half rack and it was actually medium in hotness just fyi. I'm not a huge fan of beef ribs because most people can't get them tender enough but TOH did the deed and they were fairly tender. We will be back again to try other options.
