I purchased Torqeedo Travel 1003 Electric a little less than two years ago. I recently found that it wouldn't charge and after contacting them and after several calls where they walked me through one test after another they sent me a box which I drove across town to a freight forwarding service for its return to their customer service center. Next came an email saying that before their tech opened it he wanted to know if the battery had been submerged and what I had cleaned it with. It had never been submerged or even used nor had I cleaned it before it's return I responded. Weeks passed before I received another email saying that it was corroded and suggesting various ways that I might have accomplished this. Perhaps I had power washed it, etc, etc. I think it's a bit odd that they would ask about submersion and washing before they actually examined my battery but I can only conclude that they were setting me up for the bad news to be received later. I can't actually tell you how well the product works as I never had the pleasure of using mine but I can tell you that if you like to be indirectly called a liar or want your warranty to be respected you might want to wait for Torqeedo to get some competition. read more
