I took in a moped for a tune up, new carb, some body work and to address smoking and leaking. I had…read morethe new carb and it took some fitting to get it on as the old carb was not formatted the same. $500 and a week later I Got it back and it was still smoking and leaking. So I took it back and they charged me another $400 to put on a new Piston, rings, gaskets and crank seals, which the moped definitely needed but should have been addressed when I first brought it in. When i got it back the second time, It would not idle anymore after about 5 minutes of running and it was still smoking. So I decided to crack it open and see exactly what they had or had not done. Normally if you get any 'tune up' on any vehicle, the spark plugs and filters are changed out, along with any old/worn parts. As you can see from the attached photos, Q9 DID NOT change out the petcock or the air filter. They did not put in a new spark plug either. The petcock, I might understand but not only does the petcock look very worn but the hoses (which contain FUEL) attached are old, freyed and still LEAKING. The air filter (attached photo) was the old one still stained with time and oil. This was a huge waste of time as much of this should have been address on the first visit when I clearly requested a tune up. It is an old moped and old mopeds need a lot addressed. I have ordered the new petcock, hoses, spark plug, air filter and will be putting them on myself. The cost for what work they did do is acceptable but the work not done indicates a lack of ability in properly testing the issues and applying the actual work requested. A leaking fuel line is a nasty and dangerous issue to leave on a vehicle and not changing the spark plug or the air filter is just down right incompetent.

They've always been friendly and helpful, and I've had good experiences with them over the years. At the beginning of October, I stopped in looking for a part for my Polaris 850 Ride Command. Unfortunately, the part was on backorder. Karen, who actually sold me my ATV two years ago, took down my information and told me she would give me a call toward the end of the month with an update. After not hearing anything, I decided to call and follow up. Unfortunately, the gentleman who answered was extremely rude. As soon as I mentioned my Polaris 850 Ride Command, he immediately said, "We're not dealing with Polaris anymore. Goodbye," and hung up before I could explain why I was calling. I later visited their website and discovered that the business is retiring and closing. I completely understand and respect their decision to retire, but I wish the gentleman on the phone had simply explained that instead of hanging up on me. I would have completely understood the situation. Despite this disappointing final interaction, I'm keeping my original five-star review because of the positive experiences I've had with Woodstock Powersports over the years. One unpleasant phone call doesn't erase the years of good service I've received. It's unfortunate to see the business closing, but I wish Karen and everyone at Woodstock Powersports all the best in their retirement. Thank you for the years of service!

I brought my Ducati in for a general inspection, which cost $170. It took about 15 days and several follow-up phone calls before I finally received the diagnosis. By then, I picked up my bike after waiting two weeks. They emailed me a list of recommended repairs and instructed me to check off the work I wanted done. I replied... and then heard nothing for over two months. What really bothered me, though, was their approach to repairs. One item on the inspection was loose heated grips. Yes, they were loose, but they were still in excellent condition. Their recommendation? Replace the entire set. An honest mechanic would have said, "We can probably fix that with a $5 tube of grip glue and save you a few hundred dollars." Instead, the solution was to replace perfectly good heated grips. My Ducati is due for a Desmo service soon, which typically costs $1,200-$1,800. After this experience, I'll be taking my bike somewhere else.

My husband and I purchased a bike from here and we felt we got our moneys worth. The owner and his staff were very friendly and informative. They were able to answer every single question and took their time with us even though the Store was pretty busy with other customers. I would give them 100 stars if I could. The owner not only helped lift the bike up into our truck, but went an extra step to put cardboard down in the trunk so the gasoline wouldn't leak out into the car. He also didn't just sell us a bike, he went through maintenance, and proper care of the bike with us. We left away feeling good and our son has been enjoying this bike ever since. We will definitely be coming back once our other kids are age-appropriate to ride a bike.

Friday in late October, 70 degrees in Chicagoland and not a customer in this place, not one. I explained I came to test ride and maybe buy the BMW motorcycle. "Nope, no test drives, is our policy". It is full of older Japanese bikes and a bunch of older Harley Davidsons. I came to look at a BMW, only saw two BMW's in the store. '"Our service dept checks out all bikes, no test drives, you buy it and you can return it." Well I am pretty sure there is not a certified BMW mechanic on staff and looking at the selection of bikes they do not see many BMW's. I offered to buy the bike on a credit card then and there and would maybe return it after putting 10 miles on it. Somebody spoke to somebody came back and told me they would not sell me that bike and I should leave the store, which I did. It looks like they are not an authorized dealer for anything they sell. They had a Triumph rug at the entry and are certainly not a Triumph dealer. The whole thing was a waste of time and they left me feeling bad for even going in there. Looks like I am not the only one. Check Yelp first!
