I was scammed on a used 2017 Indian motorcycle that I paid way too much for and turned out I was lied to about it being safe and a few key other details. Where do I start with the positive things to say about Randy's Cycle? I suppose the easiest thing to do would be to do this as categorically as I can. Location: 3 out of 5 Yeah, this is a little bit subjective, but if you're from the city of Chicago, it's a little bit of pain. I live in the loop, and it took me a good hour and change to get there. I think the odometer read right at 60 miles from door to door. If you're from the western burbs, no problem. And honestly, the area of Huntley isn't too bad. You can pick your own tomatoes and corn at a very cheap rate. Facilities: 3 out of 5 (there's an explanation for this) So IDOT bought out this stretch of IL 47 so they could expand the road. And it's warranted, because if you google maps the area, it's actually fairly crowded. The building that houses Randy's Cycle isn't the greatest, or the newest, nor does it have all the modern bells and whistles that you may have come to expect from places. Heck, I'm not sure if they even have air conditioning in there. There's a small break room in the back, and a demure restroom. The actual "showroom" isn't that big. I counted maybe 15 - 20 motorcycles inside on the main floor, and maybe another 30 - 40 outside. Is this small by some people's standards? Sure...but read the next section and you'll see why. The good news is that because of the IL 47 expansion, Randy's Cycle is moving, and hopefully by next month. New Bike Selection: 5 out of 5. I think that their website officially lists 60+ motorcycles in new customs and pre-owned. Maybe there are another 15 or 20 new vehicles floating around that aren't listed officially. Small? Sure, the numbers aren't there. But if there was ever an example of quality over quantity in selection as well as a truly diversified range of target end user demographics, Randy's Cycle is the epitome of this. Are you looking for somewhere that sells tons of Japanese motorcycles? SV's, GSX, CBR, Ninja's etc. etc.? NOT the place for you to go. There's dealerships like that out there. Randy's has a different niche. Are you looking for first time cruisers? Mmmm...getting closer, and it can be done, but still not in the right ballpark. Are you looking for a cheaper Korean brand (Hyosung/UM) because you can't afford anything else? They have those, remarkably enough. Are you looking for Vectrix electric scooters? Yep, they have those too. How bout Lehman Trikes? If you haven't seen them in conjunction with Victory, Honda, or Suzuki, they are a true sight to behold. But their raison d'etre, my friends - is their line of Victory motorcycles. They are absolutely beautiful in person, and I'm someone who just innately doesn't prefer cruisers or touring bikes. Used Bike Selection: 3 out of 5. Like I mentioned earlier, there's not going to be a whole lot of motorcycles to choose from. You have to understand that people who trade in bikes here to get new bikes are looking for something particular, and very narrow in scope. That means that the bikes they trade in are going to be narrower in scope too. Higher end cruisers (American and otherwise) seemed to make up the bulk of their used sales selection, but they also had a fair selection of standards and even a few sport bikes. Remarkably, a Buell 1125CR was there when I went this past weekend. Pricing: 5 out of 5. I ended up getting a 1986 Yamaha FZX 700 (Fazer), and KBB had it listed at 1675. With a Kerker 4 in 1, cosmetically beautiful, and mechanically almost flawless, Randy's had it for 1795. Not going to quibble over the 1 bill or so. Believe me, the bike's in beautiful shape and the only thing that's noticeably wrong is that the reserve/on fuel switch only works in reserve, but that's nothing to quibble over. My little Buell Blast was scuffed up because it was originally used in a MSF course. KBB for it was around 2000, and at first Rod(?) offered only 1000 for it because of its cosmetic woes. I told him honestly that I was expecting 1500, and within a few moments, that value was easily agreed upon. Customer service: 5 out of 5. Couldn't say enough good things about everyone who works at this dealership. From the phone conversations I've had before going in to actually going in and being greeted by everyone there to the sales manager I worked with (Rod?) to the young lady who did my paperwork (Heather?), everyone treated me with the utmost in courtesy and cordialness. Rod(?) was patient with all my questions, and he treated me as if I was buying their most expensive motorcycle. Even their mechanics, who I didn't have direct interaction with, were wonderful. One of them frankly and honestly advised against using preload to account for seat height and recommended lowering links instead. I think tons of others would do the work, make the money, and not even blink an eye. Overall: 5 out of 5. Randy's is a gem in the Chicago area motorcycle world. Bikes are reasonably priced. Its out off the beaten path that's for sure.Wish they had one closer to the city.Very friendly staff. Mechanics can't seem to agree on some things.Have gotten some bad advice from them. Sales manager is ok but don't think you will get any great prices for a trade in. All dealers are like that to an extant. But the serious lowball on trades makes me think either that brand has very poor resale, or they will mark it up up 3-4K. as soon as you walk out the door. Maybe because they are the only 100% Victory dealer in a 70 mile radius they can get away with that. No competition. Or maybe its because I got my bike at another dealer before they closed down. I can see if its not a Victory product but that is what they sell. One would think they would be more able to re-sell them without taking someone for a couple grand. For a 2014 Vegas to add just the cams in, 7.5 hours labor? No other parts or labor! Vic Dealer in Monee said the same thing but they dropped the cost to 550 bucks from almost 800 bucks after I asked told them that any Indy mechanic will do it for a 1/3 of the cost. . They claim you have to drop the engine. BS. Tons of independent shops do it in 2 hours or so and charge 300-350 dollars for labor. Vic dealers claim it takes 7-9 hours labor! Indy shops can do it in 3 hours. Due to the remote location I normally just order parts online. The parts and service folks are nice but being a dealer with no competition its a bit out of control. The owner is a really nice guy but he doesn't negotiate trades and pricing, he gives it to the sales manager. And that guy won't budge a penny. Cost them a sale too. A 2 year old bike with 3.9K on it, cost 14 new and now its worth only 6.3K? Not confidence inspiring to buy a new one thats for sure. I took a little beating on my Harley trade estimate too but not that much. Plus it sold on Craigslist in less than a week for just a couple grand under what I paid. Used Victories don't seem to move fast. They should, they are really great bikes. They do have a decent selection of all kinds of bikes though. All makes on used models. And they allow test rides on EVERYTHING unlike the Japanese dealers. I would give them a higher rating but for location, service quotes and trade values. They should really consider the costs of some services like upgrades that anyone else can do and become more competitive. I bet they would have tons more work that way. read more

NEVER EVER AGAIN! Lost 7K on a Victory Vortex that THEY couldn't wire a trailer plug on(I purchased new from them). I purchase new for one reason, and Randy knew it, to TRAVEL with when I retire. Can't travel when I can't pull my trailer. At one point they told me that I HAD TO PAY to change my bulbs on my trailer to LED lights. I told them to find a trailer with LED lights and prove that was the issue, that ended that suggestion. 23 MPG which they couldn't figure out nor did they care that I was getting shitty gas mileage. The best is when they charged me to sell it for owning 8 months. Victory Vortex, biggest POS I've ever owned. Polaris could have cared less (kept sending me back to Randy's who couldn't fix my bike in the first and second and third place) and Motor Trike (MPG ISSUE) was just as bad. read more

Wow, this place is the best. My 99 HD nighttrain received everything but get stroked.. Talk about performance and reliability, it's all there. I never need to worry about loose bolts, scratches or getting unnecessary equipment. Real honest, educated and passionate about bikes and customers. I take the trip from the city because it's worth it.Service knows what there doing and will suggest less expensive alternatives. Randy is a stand up guy that stands behind his product. I've bought several bikes off of Randy even before he was a Victory dealer. I can personally say I'd never buy from anyone else. The parts and service department have always taken great care of me as well. Rod in parts is a personable guy who always goes above and beyond. The other reviews on here that are negative just don't make sense to me. I bet those people bash everyone. They understand they need to take the time to talk with you. Sure they get busy. When there are 10 people looking around they do their best to get over and talk. It isn't just the bike that sells, it is what these guy's tell you what you need to know to make an informed decision. I bought a 2012 Victory Cross Country Tour bike. Coming from my 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 800cc the CCT is even easier to handle! My Wife at first said that she would have to burn all of her Harley clothes (Acquired in a Previous Marriage). After just a few trips, she likes riding on the back of the CCT better than the Harley Road King. I love being able to pump up the air and provide a cushioned ride for her. Because of the attitudes of the Chicago area HD dealerships I decided to look at Victory. I purchased an 06 Jackpot and have been hooked ever since! I'm not knocking HD by any means. I still love the bikes and hope to get a Street Glide one day. However, when you walk into a dealership ready to drop $20,000 plus on a bike I would hope not to be treated like it's my honor to do so. My first experience at Randy's was what one would expect and hope for when spending that kind of money. Randy as well as every person he employs are very professional and friendly. You want to test drive a bike, no problem. You want to discuss price, no problem. You need work done on your bike in a hurry, they'll squeeze you in. Iv'e bought 3 Victory's from Randy's since my 06. Never once did I have even a mediocre experience. And as far as the bikes themselves, never an issue with any of them. They are rock solid.
