I can however say that I was impressed by the upper leadership at camping world . Immediately upon posting the review I was contacted by leadership for details . I did NOT tell them that I was currently in negotiations with a different Camping World location. I was NOT trying to play the "leverage game" and wanted the results to be the result of good (or bad) business practices. It wasn't 24 hours later before I was contacted , apologized to, and informed everything was being "made right". Camping World (as large as they are) still cares about business. I can appreciate that. I do appreciate that. I have since completed the purchase of a new RV and cannot wait to get out on the road this spring . Reviews are like opinions - take them with a Grain of salt (whatever that means). They are an individuals perception of a specific happening at a specific moment. My experience went from positive to negative by the actions and decisions of one individual. Don't let one bad apple ruin your banana split! Thank you Camp World for being professional, caring for the concern of your customers. Looking forward to future dealings and a long relationship Original review: I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Camping World in Wauconda, IL, and I feel compelled to share it as a warning to others. From the moment I walked in, the sales tactics were pushy, aggressive, and entirely focused on closing the deal rather than addressing my needs or ensuring my safety. Despite my lack of experience towing anything longer than 14 feet, they convinced me that towing a trailer over 38 feet long would be "simple" and assured me that "with the double axle design, you won't even know it's there." This was irresponsible advice, especially since I didn't even own a vehicle capable of towing the trailer's UVW of 9,000 pounds. The misinformation didn't stop there. I was told the RV "already had solar" because it had an inverter preinstalled. In reality, the unit was only "prepped for solar" and did not have any panels installed. Additionally, the sales team inaccurately claimed that the heat was "all electric" and not propane-based. It became clear they were simply telling me what they thought I wanted to hear, regardless of whether it was true. This lack of honesty and transparency made me feel misled and manipulated throughout the process. The most frustrating part of my experience came when I placed a deposit to "lock in the price", since the price was "accidently posted way below originally intended". I was assured that the deposit would be refunded if we didn't finalize the purchase. However, after deciding not to proceed with the purchase at this location, things quickly deteriorated. I was initially told that the financial department was closed over the weekend and my refund would be processed on Monday. When Monday came and went without any communication, I followed up only to be rudely informed that they were keeping my deposit for "work done"--despite no work actually being performed on the RV. The lack of professionalism and accountability from Camping World was shocking. Phone calls went unanswered, promises were broken, and I was left feeling disrespected and deceived. The staff showed no interest in resolving my concerns or taking responsibility for their actions. This level of customer service is unacceptable for any business, let alone one as large as Camping World. I strongly urge anyone considering doing business with Camping World in Wauconda to think twice. Their high-pressure sales tactics, misleading information, lack of transparency regarding deposits, and overall poor customer service made for an awful experience. Save yourself the stress and frustration--look elsewhere for a dealership that values honesty, professionalism, and its customers.

I am thoroughly disappointed in the post-sale service following the purchase of a brand-new travel…read moretrailer. Within three months, our RV suffered a broken axle--an issue fully covered under warranty. The failure occurred three hours from home, so I contacted Charles, our salesperson, expecting some guidance in arranging a tow to an authorized repair facility. His earlier assurance that "we will take care of you" if anything went wrong has proven remarkably hollow. Towing to an authorized dealer is prohibitively expensive, and we were essentially told we were on our own. One might reasonably assume the dealership could arrange transport to a Camping World location for warranty repair, yet that assistance was nowhere to be found. The situation appears to stem from a perfect storm of limited Good Sam insurance coverage, questionable build quality on a brand-new unit, and a salesperson whose interest evaporates the moment the sale is complete. Charles can talk a convincing game, but when it mattered, he dropped the ball entirely, leaving us to navigate the process without support. If you are considering Camping World, proceed with caution. Once the paperwork is signed, you should fully expect to become an afterthought.
