Slammin!!!! That's all I can say. The wife and I didn't want to cook dinner tonight on a Friday and some good Mexican sounded like it would hit the spot. I said let's try Toro's BBQ! She said BBQ? I thought you wanted mexican. ( she doesn't eat BBQ but fish tacos she loves) I got the biria beef tacos and her the fish tacos. Looking at the menus prices seemed on the higher side. After a short convo over the phone tacos were ordered. Headed out 20 mins later to pick up. Get there and it is small, no seating only take out.fine. fine. Had a pleasant short conversation with the guy working there, and he brought my tacos out to my truck as i waited. Got them home, first impression was heavy baggggggg!!!! Each order came with 4 huge tacos. My beef tacos were so good and came with a dipping sauce that was to die for. Wifey loved her fish tacos and both of our stomachs are soooooo happy. Authentic, flavorful, fresh, and delicious! We ordered beef birria, chicken birria and carne asada tacos. Everything was A1. The birria was delicious and had cheese added. The meat was well seasoned and tender. The carne asada had pico de gallo and a few other toppings. The steak tasted like it was fresh off the grill and marinated for a good while. Two different sauces (in addition to the birria broth, of which there was lots!) came with the tacos. They were spicy, but manageable spicy & delicious. The prices were a little higher than other taco places I've been to but the portion sizes are generous and it's 100% worth it for the taste. The service was also great. I called ahead to order and it took the time they said it would and was ready by the time I arrived. The guys there were very pleasant and very patient and responsive to my questions. They looked to be busy when I got there, but someone still took the time to answer the phone. Inside was also very clean. Just FYI. Its takeout only. I also didn't see tons of parking but I got there from a side street so I probably missed their lot. Plus there looked to be ample parking across the street. Order my food, spoke to young person, she took my order I gave her my name she never game a price or a time which isn't unusual. Arrived 50 minutes later to pick up my order. Gave her my name she went in the back and came back and said there was no order and I never ordered anything. I had asked if she remembers the conversation she said yes. This is a hidden gem of a place. My first experience was that no one picked up the phone and I sent messages in FB/Instagram with no replies. I drove by and it was closed. Eventually, I got a response that they are open and that they were closed that one day for an event. So this is all to say call ahead. I'm not taking away any stars for this. You might want to call a few times because they do get busy especially on a Friday night. Now for the great. This is likely the best Birria Tacos we have ever had!! We got the shrimp and octopus. The ingredients were fresh and they didn't skimp on meat. We also tried the Carne Asada tacos and it was fantastic. The meat was tender and done right!
