The equipment is generic china made stuff which is locked to think protection, which I put up with because of low monthly monitoring cost. Everything was going well for them, until Ring came along and ThinkProtection increased their monthly monitoring charges. It doesn't makes sense for me anymore for the following reasons: 1. Ring entered into the market with their own monitoring system which has better equipment and lower subscription plan. (Ring premium plan with unlimited devices for 100$ a year) 2. I have a ring doorbell for which I pay (50$ a year - Ring basic plan for 1 device only). So the additional cost I'll incur is 50$ and will do away my commitment with Think Protection for 200 $ a year resulting in 150$ savings. 3. Think Protection increased their monitoring charges after a year I was with them to 15$ a month+tax which is more expensive than Ring premium anyway despite the sub-standard equipment. 4. The capital expenditure I incurred to buy the think protection equipment is down the drain as the equipment is locked to them and can't be used with another provider. Make an informed decision after considering all the facts. Don't just fall for the low monthly monitoring cost as they'll increase it soon. Also, in a way they lock you in because you wouldn't want to switch away from them as you have made significant investment at the start while buying the equipment.

I cancelled my service, returned the items with the CSR physically taking and scanning in to log said items. Fast forward 1 week and I get notices that the items have not been returned and charges will be incurred if items are not returned. Calling customer service is a joke as it must be a call Center in China where no one understands anything but Mandarin... not even Cantonese let alone English even though their IVR telephone system provides you the options。 One word, stay away and don't even think of using their service or lack there of

Every single time, someone from LST would call me a couple seconds later to check in on me. Recently, LST called me again to tell me that I was due for a battery change. Funny thing is, I actually saw a light on my keypad the day before and was wondering what it was. The girl on the phone says that's the system's way of telling me that the battery is low. They sent someone to change the battery, and the light went away. My family and I have used different alarm companies in the past, but the way LST looks out for you is a cut above the rest. I've been with them for almost 2 years now and it's been great!

The cost of the main unit battery is major, the batteries on sensors are just AAs. I was told that the battery should last for a few years and opening and closing the doors with sensors wear out the batteries. This is understandable but i still feel like scammed somehow. Not remembering being told during installation. The technician was in my house for 15 minutes ish.

Terrible experience with newest wired Lorex doorbell…read more Ordered it with chimes and a power supply as part of the package. Electrician wired the device and mounted the doorbell. Loaded app. Spent an hour following the app and the linked video instructions, got nowhere in connecting to the "hotspot" in the doorbell. Went online and saw a user's video. It showed something entirely missing from the video from Lorex: you needed to dismount the doorbell and connect via a usb cable to a laptop (the video was an older model that showed connecting to power in the wall, but the new model doesn't have wall plug, the kit includes a USB cable but no reference anywhere to it from Lorex.) Then I was able to get connected and see through the video. Reconnected to the outside and the wired power. And nothing worked. Reconnected to USB and computer, not problem. Reconnected to wired power. Nothing worked. (In general, the instructions that did exist were often vague, referring to "the network" when you had 2 networks (your own Wifi and the "hotspot" network with the Lorex, which itself generated multiple network names--one in the XXXX format of the instruction and then a much longer ID later). I have installed a lot of devices. This is my first total failure. Very disappointed. I am returning the merchandise.
