The service was awesome. Everything came out fast. The sauces are off. I totally agree with another reviewer, the salsa did taste like marinara and the sauce with the birra wontons was off too. The drinks were great though. I really enjoyed my passion fruit margarita

A great new find on Dorchester Road. This spot is super cozy and perfect for any meal. The food was spectacular, the drinks were pretty good, and the portions are huge for the price. Friendly service, too--highly recommend if your looking for a closer spot off of Ashley phosphate.

Starving and this salsa is ON POINT! Can you see the herbs and onions? Light, fresh, flavorful with a hint of a kick!

Oh my goodness where to start OK first with the chips and salsa this is one of the best most flavorful fresh salsa I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant like seriously I'm ordering a chips and salsa to go cause there's salsa is amazing and I normally like you know, don't really go in for the chips and salsa but I immediately scarfed 3/4 of the bowl like in the first five minutes. It's that damn good.! next I decided to order the Beria sample platter because I really love Beria and I was not disappointed. This thing is massive and so good. Oh my goodness, their white queso is some of the most flavorful cheese pulled white queso I've ever had in my life. It's a game changer. Truly you really need to order this. The next time you come and then it's got these little taquitos that are full of shredded Birria beef and then you got that little side cup of the burial, consume brawl to dip it in and then they also have like a little Birria cheese, queso kind of quesadilla where the tortilla has been dipped in that broth and then grilled oh my gosh, so good and then all of that is on top of these nachos that have lettuce and tomatoes and jalapeños and the shredded beer beef with that white queso all over it oh my goodness I don't even want to think about the thousands of calories this dish probably has but it's so delicious and you just have to try it. you just have to order this. It's it truly is necessary in your life. A kid do not trust me get the beer sampler and that will tell you everything you need to know. Have a great weekend.

This was our first time dining here. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and welcoming. We were greeted promptly and politely. Our waitress was super nice and had a great smile. We ordered some drinks that were tasty ( pineapple margaritas) . The prices were lower than other Mexican restaurants we have been to in the area. And the quantity of food was very good. We enjoyed the Birria empanadas and the Toro Sampler . We will be back !

First time here it is tucked away off Dorchester Road. Once walking inside, it's nice chill vibes, clean place. The margarita was very good along with the salsa, which had a lot of flavor. The food was excellent, and the bartender was nice. I look forward to going back and trying other items on their menu.

New Mexican restaurant in N. Charleston. Hostess and Servers were very nice and happy to answer our questions. Their happy hour drink special is buy 2 classic margaritas of any flavor, frozen or on the rocks, & get a 3td for free. Great flavors. Extensive food menu like most other Mexican restaurants. Their salsa reminded me of marinara sauce. The setup inside is bright and nice. We will be back.

The food was great, and the staff were all very kind. Very good prices! If I had to choose between Toro Birria and La Minerva I would choose to go Toro Birria. It has better prices and very high quality food. What Toro Birria lacks in ambiance, it makes up for in quality. Will absolutely go again!

The food was delicious! A well cooked meal. No complaints. The service was awesome! Ashli is super nice! The atmosphere is nice and lowkey. The queso is a little expensive but good. The chips were nice and crispy and the salsa had warm comforting spices. The grilled chicken was seasoned really well and the rice was delicious. A great experience!

Baby drinking Jamaica aqua Fresca. Very diluted tasting...? (My comparison for this flavor is El Molino & Tiki's...)

The drinks are priced on the higher end, but the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere makes it feel approachable. We also love that they offer seasonal and holiday cocktails, which is right up our alley. We brought Luna along and sat on the patio, which was a nice option. I would love to see heaters added outside to make the patio more comfortable on cooler nights. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I ordered the Fireside Chat (served warm), made with Four Roses Bourbon, Croft Tawny Port, apple cider, orange juice, grenadine, turbinado sugar, allspice, and clove ($15). I really enjoyed the flavor profile--warm, well-balanced, and perfect for the season. That said, I was a little disappointed that my second drink wasn't garnished nearly as nicely as the first, especially given the price. Flavor-wise, though, both were very good. My husband started with the Gingersnap, which includes Monkey Shoulder blended Scotch whisky, Disaronno almond liqueur, butterscotch liqueur, spiced ginger syrup, heavy cream, Angostura bitters, cookie rim, and nutmeg ($16). He enjoyed it but felt it was definitely a one-drink cocktail due to how sweet, creamy, and heavy it was. He also ordered the Smoked Maple-Bacon Old Fashioned with bacon fat-washed bourbon, spiced maple syrup, tobacco bitters, and a salted brown sugar rim ($16). This one was a miss for him--too sweet, with the maple and smoke overpowering the drink, and not much bacon flavor coming through. That said, the presentation was excellent; watching the smoke being lit was a highlight, and I even grabbed a video of it. Our total came to about $71 before tip, and we didn't order any food, so it's definitely on the pricier side. Still, for the ambiance, creative cocktails, and overall experience, I think it's worth it--especially for a relaxed night out with a more elevated feel.

I have never had a bad drink here. I got the Batata Clarified Milk Punch (description in picture) which was fantastic. The toasted marshmallow garnish was a great touch for the season we were in. My mom got the Bourbon and Clyde and she said it was incredible. Description also in picture. The orange foam and pistachio crumble was a great addition. Another great drink for autumn. My second drink was the Smokin Indo which was probably my favorite. They performed the smoked glass technique with applewood which was not only cool to watch but added a unique flavor to the drink. We always make a point to get the assorted cheeses when we are here because they make a great charcuterie board. They switch up the cheeses just like they change their cocktail menu. Love to sit at the bar because it is truly an art to watch the bartenders make these drinks and really adds to the experience. Everyone who works here is super kind and knowledgeable on their craft. However, if you are able to be there when the two Doar brothers are working it makes it truly special. They give postcards with their check and there's a bowl of matchbooks sitting on the bar. The service was on point and the bartender was killing it at the bar - multitasking making 3 drinks all at once. It was super impressive and I took a few videos of him. I'm giving 4 stars because the first cocktail I ordered was SO SWEET that I couldn't get it down. I tried to drink it but had to send it back. We asked when we ordered about the flavor profile and supposedly it wasn't sweet, but all 3 of us agreed it was way oversweet. My black manhattan was phenomenal and my husband had a mocktail moscow mule that was awesome. Overall, I'd come back again - just be mindful of the ingredients in the drink and modifying as needed for sweetness. Make a reservation if you can!

It sets the tone immediately, and the festive energy carries straight through the meal. We kicked things off with Bloody Marys and a Morning Fog -- simple, classic, and done right. For starters, we shared the Hula Hoisin Wings. They were definitely on the heavier side with the hoisin, but still absolutely delicious. The Mistletoe Mango Tuna Poke Tacos were a standout. They come as a small plate with three appetizer-sized tacos, and every bite was bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The Buddy the Elf Burger offers a choice of a single or double patty; ours was cooked perfectly. The smoky bacon really brought everything together and gave it that extra "wow" factor. We rounded things out with the O Come, All Ye Fried Rice with Hanger Steak, which was another winner -- perfectly cooked, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. As if the meal wasn't great enough on its own, we happened to be there while Emily Curtis was performing. She's truly incredible and added such a fun, memorable vibe to the day. I'd be remiss not to mention Kevin our server. Go see him. He was great. The whole team works great together. Don't let the bar-like atmosphere fool you -- Prohibition is far from your typical bar food or bar scene. There's a great space in the back, and the elevated menu makes it absolutely worth the visit. The whole place feels quaint and local, yet refined and classy. First off I love that it's a full service bar and eating at the bar is no problem. Second I absolutely love they sell pitchers of beer. Not many taps, but still pitchers. And it's mostly local beer. I was with my husband and we wanted to try several things and took recs from the bartender who was awesome. We ordered the pork dumplings, the scallion pancake and the spicy sichuan hot karaage rice bowl. And we made it a combo with miso soup and an egg roll for $4. The pork dumplings were SO good. I could eat a meal of those alone. They were dense and flavorful and the dipping sauce was slightly spicy. The scallion pancake was a surprise delight. It was crispy and not too greasy again with a delicious dipping sauce. The miso soup...chefs kiss. It looked like ordinary miso soup but there was something extra that we really loved!! And the egg roll was big and juicy and fried and wonderful. It's a veggie egg roll but don't let that fool you. So much flavor and again the sweet chili dipping sauce left us drooling. Most of those sauces are too sweet but this was the perfect blend and the perfect spice level. The rice bowl was full of flavor!! The spice on this is quite a lot so make sure you can handle heat if you order the "hot" version. But again lots of flavor not just hot. Thank god we didn't order anymore food because this was plenty for the two of us to leave full and honestly we could've had leftovers. All the dishes we ordered, from the miso soup and pierogis with salsa macha, to the karaage-don and peanut noodles, were savory and satisfying to eat. The texture and appearance of the chicken for the karaage-don bore more of a resemblance to General Tso's chicken with its battered and crunchy exterior, and it didn't quite have the tender and juicy interior I was hoping for, but I enjoyed the lemon mayo pairing which resulted in a flavorful finish. The Peanut Noodles reminded me of certain iterations of Dan Dan Noodles and certainly tasted fine on its own, but adding the thick chunks of bacon/pork belly was essential in elevating this dish to the next level. The restaurant was very lively on a Thursday afternoon, and the staff very warm and inviting throughout our meal. My drink hit the mark for me, and I found the cocktail menu fun and creative.
