I stopped into this restaurant to get lunch. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a cozy restaurant! I was served by Sony and she was great! I ordered: -Sake - Miso Soup - Drum Wing (Chicken/shrimp) - Chicken Meatball/Wagyu Short Rib Yakitori - Grilled Hamachi (Yellowtail) - Gyu Don Beef - Creamy Udon The Yellowtail was definitely my favorite! The miso wasn't to bad! All in all a good experience!

Found my new favorite izakaya in the West Village! I was hesitant at first when I saw some negative reviews, but my dining experience was really pleasant. They serve up 30+ kinds of skewers starting at just $4! The space is bright, open, and comfortable, where you can actually enjoy yakitori without walking out smelling like smoke in your hair or clothes. The menu covers a wide range of chicken, pork, beef, and veggie skewers, plus a solid lineup of appetizers, entrées (shoutout to the mentai udon!!), and a great beverage selection. It took some time for them to serve all the skewers, but we kept having some food on our table. The servers were friendly and answered our questions patiently. My favorite skewers: - Pork Jowl $8 - juicy with the perfect balance of fat and char. - Short Rib $11 - tender nd full of beefy flavor. - Pork Belly w Asparagus $8 - crispy edges with freshness from the asparagus. - Zucchini w Mentai Mayo $4.5 - juicy zucchini topped with mentai mayo (I should've got more). - Chicken Meatball $6 - delicious, I only wished it could come with raw egg yolk for dipping. *Ume-Infused Cherry Tomato $8 Seriously so addicting! The juicy tomatoes were soaked in a tangy pickled plum sauce. It tastes super refreshing and helps cut off the greasiness. Will totally order this again. *Creamy Cod Roe Udon $14 *Gyudon $16 Both were served with a raw egg yolk, and honestly I couldn't decide which one I liked more. The portions were generous too, definitely enough to leave you feeling full! *Grilled Mackerel $14 The mackerel had charred, crispy skin, while the meat stayed tender. We were already full by the end but still cleaned the whole plate.

This new izakaya spot reallyimpressed me! The flavors of the salt seasoning and tare sauce on the chicken, meat, and pork skewers was so good. Torizaku also offers a variety of classic Japanese appetizers that are perfect tapa sizes to share with the table. This is everything my friend and I got: Strawberry Ume * Pork Gyoza * Takoyaki * Seaweed Salad * Drum Wing * Chicken Karaage * Squid Karaage * Miso Soup * Wing * Chicken Meatball * Thigh * Thigh with Scallion * Thigh with Yuzu Kosho * Breast * Breast with Scallion * Enoki with Pork Belly * Beef Short Rib * Beef * Gyu Don *Creamy Cod Roe Udon You have to try the creamy udon. It reminded me so much of a carbonara spaghetti but with an Asian twist. It was so addicting. Service and atmosphere was equally a 10/10!

Such a great find in the West Village! The mentaiko udon is a must -- huge portion, super creamy, and the noodles are amazing. The grilled saba was also incredible and way bigger than expected for the price. Solid yakitori, good drinks, friendly service. Affordable and delicious... definitely coming back!

The drinks were cute and yummy .

The skewers here are literally absolutely delicious . I think we tried about 10-12 flavors and not one of them were nasty . They were helpful and explained things i didn't quite understand which was great . I love to learn new things . It's nice and cozy and i love all the art and decor ! I can't wait to go back for happy hour and eat more skewers . I also got to try mochi ice cream for the first time which was an interesting experience

Came here for dinner with some friends. The food was overall delicious I especially enjoyed the chicken thigh with scallion skewers. The interior is clean and well decorated. The service left much to be desired however. It took greater than 1h30mins for certain skewers to come out. Unfortunately, we had to leave before all the food came out since we were running late for another reservation. We asked for it to be packed in a to go box and yet again, they got the order wrong. The experience was regrettable since the food was so good.

BEST FOOD. Recently visited this restaurant and I was blown away. Started with the seaweed salad and it was unreal - I knew what to come was even better. I tried the creamy cod roe udon and I'm OBSESSED. Been thinking about it ever since.

Every resturuant on Bleecker street was packed and full. Torizaku was empty when we arrived. It seemed like a relatively new place so we decided to give it a try. Here's what we tried: -Unagi Udon- (9/10 ~I love it, it was really yummy) -Chicken Karaage (8-9/10 ~the sauce paired with the chicken was really good) -Shrimp Tempura (7-8/10 ~nothing special, but not horrible) -Ume-Infused cherry tomatoes (6/10) -Various Yakitori- personal favorite was the asparagus with pork belly -Strawberry Puree- (9/10 ~Yum!) Overall pretty good.

Worth the try Clean and friendly workers. I see a lot of people saying the wait time was long for their food but mine came really fast. Food was pretty good

Okay food. New restaurant and the decor is nice looking. A lot of small tables are available as well as a bar with seating.

Ambiance: The space isn't large, but it feels open and comfortable, with a decent-sized bar seating area. The shop is clean, well-maintained, and has a cozy, inviting vibe. Service : I visited on a Friday night, and it was pretty busy. The skewers took a bit of time to come out since they're grilled to order but I didn't mind. The staff was friendly and attentive, checking in with us regularly. I was seated at the bar, and from a certain angle, I could watch the skewers being grilled. I couldn't resist sneaking a peek and the aroma was incredible. Food: The skewers were fantastic! I loved that they were served grilled to order. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the heart and gizzards. Usually it is not my go-to, but they were delicious here. A standout was the drum wing and it is absolutely a must-try. It's a bit pricier than the other skewers, but totally worth it. Juicy and tender on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside. They definitely worked some magic on that one. The creamy roe udon was another favorite. It reminded me of a creamy carbonara I had in Korea. It was rich, savory, and perfectly balanced with bacon, roe, and an egg yolk on top. Lastly, the ume-marinated cherry tomato was a refreshing surprise. It had a sweet-tangy flavor that reminded me of Chinese ginger candy. It is such a fun little bite to end the meal.

A cozy meal with Torizaku If you want a japanese style meal that is conveniently located around washington square look no further than Torizaku. Of course their skewers were nothing less than delicious. They're savory and chewy and all around good. However, for me, the highlight was the creamy cod roe udon. This dish was smooth and creamy, the taste was really rich and the overall serving was very filling. I was able to pair this dish with the ume strawberry fizz which cut back on the delicacy of the noodles to offer a contrast of some subtle sour but really sweet notes of strawberry. Really good combo!

Enjoying a delicious glass of wine and a beautiful spread of food with friends at Torizaku!

My friends and I had an incredible time at Torizaku this week, starting with the hospitality!! When I tell you their servers and staff are some of the nicest people, I mean it. The space is super cute and feels very intimate and cozy. The menu has a lot of items on it that you'll want to try, so I recommend going here really hungry and even with several people, so you all can share and try everything, the way my friends and I did. Some of my favorite dishes were the mentaiko udon (creamy, delicious noodles and a table favorite - A MUST-ORDER), the seaweed salad (sooo flavorful and delish) the ume-infused cherry tomatoes (don't sleep on these, they're so refreshing), the grilled fish was made perfectly, the gyoza and the fried chicken (I beg of you, ORDER THIS). I know it sounds silly, but the fried chicken is PERFECTION and should NOT be missed! Sooo good we ordered like three rounds of them lol. I also really loved the French wine on the menu (can't remember the name of it, but they'll know it if you ask them). It was crisp, refreshing and delightful! I highly recommend this lovely place and honestly, if you just order my recommendations you'll be full and so pleased! I can't wait to return!

Even before the food arrives, the restaurant leaves a strong impression with its stunning Japanese-inspired interior. The space is beautifully designed, blending warmth and elegance in a way that feels both inviting and refined. From the soft lighting to the natural wood accents and thoughtfully arranged decor, everything about the atmosphere feels intentional. It captures the intimate charm of a traditional izakaya while still feeling modern and stylish, making it a wonderful setting for anything from a casual dinner to a more special night out. The food more than lived up to the beauty of the space. One of the first highlights was the salmon onigiri, a dish that proved how satisfying simplicity can be when it is done well. The rice was soft, fresh, and perfectly formed, holding together without feeling too compact, while the salmon added a savory richness that made each bite feel comforting and flavorful. It was balanced, delicate, and deeply satisfying in a way that made it memorable despite its simplicity. The seared salmon salad was another standout. The salmon itself was beautifully prepared, with a lightly seared exterior that gave it a subtle crispness, while the inside remained tender, buttery, and smooth. That contrast in texture made the dish especially enjoyable. Paired with the freshness of the salad, it felt light and refreshing, yet still substantial enough to feel like more than just a side dish. It was a dish that managed to feel both clean and indulgent at the same time. The grilled squid was particularly impressive and easily one of the most memorable items of the meal. Squid can often be difficult to get right, as it can become rubbery or overly chewy if even slightly overcooked, but that was absolutely not the case here. The texture was spectacular--tender, delicate, and pleasantly springy without any toughness. Each bite had a light smokiness from the grill that added depth, while the squid itself retained its natural sweetness. It was expertly prepared and showcased a level of precision that really stood out. For the main courses, both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Pepper Ramen delivered distinct experiences, each with its own appeal. The Tonkatsu Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a broth that had a rich, velvety texture and a full-bodied depth that coated the palate beautifully. It felt smooth, hearty, and luxurious without being too heavy. The noodles had an ideal texture as well--firm enough to provide a satisfying bite, yet soft enough to soak up the broth and integrate perfectly into the dish. Altogether, it was a bowl that felt warming, balanced, and incredibly comforting. The Black Pepper Ramen, on the other hand, brought a bolder and more assertive flavor profile. The broth had a smooth, glossy texture, and the noodles again had a pleasing chew that gave the dish structure and substance. The black pepper added an unmistakable warmth and aromatic intensity that made the ramen stand out immediately. It was flavorful and memorable, though the pepper was slightly overwhelming at times. A bit less black pepper would have allowed the other flavors in the broth to come through more clearly and created a more balanced bowl. Even so, the ramen was still enjoyable, especially for those who appreciate strong, pepper-forward flavors. Overall, Izakaya Fuku is a restaurant that succeeds on every level. The stunning Japanese interior creates an atmosphere that feels both immersive and elegant, while the food reflects a real attention to detail in both flavor and texture. From the comforting salmon onigiri, to the fresh and beautifully prepared seared salmon salad, to the expertly grilled squid with its exceptional texture, and finally the rich and satisfying ramen dishes, every part of the meal felt carefully executed. It is a place that offers not just excellent food, but a complete dining experience, and it is well worth visiting for anyone looking for standout Japanese cuisine in New York.

I've had them before so I knew what to expect but it was way too salty, less flavorful. Had a very nice flavor, the salt overpowered it though. I tasted mushroom. Couldn't decipher distinctly from other top notch ramen so it wasn't knock your socks off. From now on I'll order the base dish when I go places so I can judge better. The gyoza was cooked very nicely, came sizzling and the bun with meat was a little ugly, it looked boiled and unappetizing. The taste was just okay. The topping on it was notable. The waitress didn't help us at all when ordering. We weren't bowled over with the food, although it was noted the meat in the ramen was high level. I'd have to say...the tonkatsu was quite good....not quite as sublime as my favorite tonkatsu place in Tokyo...but still, very, very good. Their location is a little hidden, it's on the second floor above Soba Noodle Azuma on 55th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues, closer to 8th. You have to go up a stairwell on the side. Getting to the food, their focus is on meat, seafood and vegetable skewers though they also have a variety of appetizers, rice bowls and noodles, and dessert. The meats and veggies are grilled over charcoal while basted with "tare", a house-made sauce that adds a level of umami to the caramelized grill flavors. Recently I got a handful of skewers for takeout, including: - Ebi (shrimp) $8 x 2: the shrimp were cooked just right, tender and juicy, yum! - Hotate Eringi (scallop and oyster mushrooms) $8 x 2: the textures of the oyster mushrooms and scallop pieces complemented each other, and were kinda similar. Another tasty offering. - Negi pon (pork belly with scallions) $7: I'm not a huge fan of pork belly in general, though they grilled it well here and chopped scallions added a little spicy tickle. While not the cheapest for skewers that you can find, (and inflation hasn't helped,) their flavors are authentic and their quality and consistency is key here. I'm glad it's still here since there seems to be fewer and fewer good yakitori spots in Manhattan these days. They used to have another location in the city though I believe this closed pre-pandemic, however from their website they now have another location in Boston. This was also the sister restaurant to Ramen Totto which had four locations at one point though all have shuttered as well. Hope this location stays around for a long time!
