Overall I'd say it was pretty decent. My wife got a democrat and I got a bowl. Hers was real greasy, and while my bowl was good, there was maybe two ounces of chicken. I'm glad I bought two. I went at 12:30 on a Thursday and it was absolutely packed! So hard to find seating and it felt super crowded and packed together. I'm sorry this location just sucks. I've given it 2 or 3 tries because I literally am the biggest Torchy's fan to a silly level, but this ain't it. Beef on the taco wasn't fresh at all and actually felt cold in my mouth, the michelada I ordered was uninspired, and the bartender was aloof and I had to flag her down just to order food (with only 1 other couple at the entire bar). The only reason I can give 2 stars instead of 1 is because the queso was right on point as always at other locations. I really hope they salvage this location and make some serious management changes because I see they're averaging 3 stars. I went to torchy's on a Wednesday at noon. It was really busy!! The location we went to barely had any seating left. I loved the ambiance of the place. The decor was really cool and had a super unique vibe. It was almost retro-hipster ish. The server who took our order was really nice! They did a good job of bringing our food out quickly too for how busy they were... The downside was the price. I paid $17 for 3 tacos. The tacos were good but not worth that at all. I got 3 trailerpark tacos (trashy style - so remove lettuce and add queso) and they were pretty yummy. The fried chicken was good and the chipotle sauce was good but not spicy. The taco was good but the flavor was pretty simple and didn't blow me away. Overall: the food was yummy but so expensive. I probably wouldn't go back unless it was for a special occasion. We have been going to this location at least once a week over the summer. We would get the green chile pork tacos and queso. The tacos were full, the meat was full of flavor and juicy, the tortillas were fresh and soft. All very very good and consistent. Once school started we stopped going every week. We went today, Sunday morning, and were very disappointed. I'm convinced we had tacos from last night. The pork had no flavor they were dry and tough to eat, the tortillas were hard. Let me preface this review with two caveats: 1. These aren't remotely authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex tacos but that doesn't mean they aren't delicious in their own right and 2. My watery eyes, post nasal drip, bright red facial skin and stinging tongue and tastebuds are not symptomatic of COVID-19 but rather the result of some rather heat producing peppers left on my tacos despite my request otherwise. Let's start with the taco of the month, the scallywag. This is a true winner and should own a place on the regular menu. Starting with well cooked coconut shrimp and nicely rendered bacon making a great sweet and savory combo. Add in pickled onions, peach habanero jam and those feisty green chilis (the ones that weren't supposed to be there, I mean why give me the option if you're gonna do it anyway? If I had been forewarned I could have excavated them at least, lol) and you have a culinary tour worth revisiting. I also had a democrat which featured Barbacoa, Cotija cheese and avocado but that rang bland after the flavor bursting Scallywag. I recommend eating that first so you can fully enjoy the experience. I walked inside, placed my order of two simple tacos, and told the cashier it was a to-go order. I was then given a restaurant pager and told to wait at a table for my order. Not sure if this is common restaurant etiquette, but having to wait at a table with a restaurant pager when your order is to-go seems a bit ridiculous. So, I was then forced to find a random table to awkwardly stand by with a restaurant pager that kept buzzing multiple times. You would assume this buzz means that your food is ready, right? It, however, meant nothing in this instance. After waiting over 10 minutes, I asked if my order was ready. The waitress I asked just took my receipt and walked off. After more time had passed, I asked again and was told that the average waiting time was 20 minutes and to wait even more. I try to be understanding of waiting times for food, but 20 minutes for two tacos? Absolutely ridiculous by anyone's standards I'm sure. And after waiting longer, my kind waitress was so generous as to drop my bag of food onto the table in front of me and storm off. Something that you can make at home in 5 minutes should at the very least be reasonably priced if you bother to go out to buy it. Something that insists on being overpriced should at least taste amazing and be served with kindness. These tacos are overpriced to the heavens, the flavor of the tacos are very mediocre, the place is a disorganize mess with no mercy for people that choose to-go orders, and the staff is rude. To put it simply, this place is a beautiful example of gentrified hell. Be warned if you choose to go here. read more

Pretty solid Torchy's instance. Consistent quality, clean and well maintained and moderately busy, although there are usually tables available. Nice decor, comfortable outside patio with umbrellas. As stated by others, this is NOT your standard TexMex taco place. If you want that you're better off at a taco truck or standard Mexican restaurant. What the do offer is some interesting creative takes on tacos, and an interesting selection of monthly specials. A little pricey as tacos go, but much more interesting and complex ingredients so it's not fair to compare them to a bit of ground beef on a tortilla. We're regular visitors and the service is consistently very good to excellent. I had always heard that this location isn't very good but didn't really believe it. Now I believe it. I'm a huge Thai food fan so knew the tuk tuk was right up my alley. It would probably be great except the meat was tough and chewy. My favorite Trailer Park trashy is the most unappetizing I've ever seen. And there is nothing to it. I usually get the trailer park and chicken tacos. Solid 3.5/5 spot and pretty similar to the other locations.
