The taco that question my Hispanic roots so goooood
    Richard L.

I'm Hispanic, so when I tell my brothers, "Let's go get tacos," and I say Torchy's, they look at me like I just slapped abuela. I'm lucky they don't hold a family intervention. One even said, "You dead to me." But I don't care. I'm not there for approval. I'm there for one taco and one taco only: the Trailer Park--Hillbilly Style. Fried chicken strip, chorizo, bacon, cheese, poblano sauce, and enough chiles to make you question your life choices. My family calls it a "white boy taco." I call it delicious cultural betrayal. Torchy's didn't make a taco--they made a late-night bad decision that turned out way too right. I'll eat it alone. I'll eat it in shame. But I'll die happy with poblano on my breath.

Torchy's actually never fails me. Food is always fresh, hot and delicious. Queso is my all-time favorite, chips are thin but sturdy and salted perfectly. Trailer Park is a classic. Boyfriend got Scallywag (Taco of the Month) it was different, but really good! Service this visit was great. Miracle was so sweet at the counter and then made sure to check on every table herself and it was pretty busy. Ambiance is good - fun walls, clean and welcoming. Great location for dine in or carry out.

Ummmm we are visiting from Wa state, but I grew up in CA. These blow most tacos I've had out of the water. These were DELISH! But warning that the portions were huge. We ordered 6 tacos between the 2 of us plus queso. We could only eat 3 before being full. We gifted the other 3 to other guests. The 3 we ate: -Jamaican Jerk -Republican -Baja Shrimp All amazing, all repeatable. The queso also yum--I guess it was award winning? Deserved. We came at 4:30-quick and friendly service. I could do without the devil theme personally.

Torchy's always has delicious food! Their chips and queso is a must get. Their chicken fajita taco on flour tortilla is my favorite and I get it every time. I went at 12:30 on a Thursday and it was absolutely packed! So hard to find seating and it felt super crowded and packed together. Their prices have also significantly increased, which is unfortunate. Most tacos are over $5, when they used to be $3. We got 6 tacos which came out to $30. Pretty pricey in my opinion.

I went to torchy's on a Wednesday at noon. It was really busy!! The location we went to barely had any seating left. I loved the ambiance of the place. The decor was really cool and had a super unique vibe. It was almost retro-hipster ish. The server who took our order was really nice! They did a good job of bringing our food out quickly too for how busy they were... The downside was the price. I paid $17 for 3 tacos. The tacos were good but not worth that at all. I got 3 trailerpark tacos (trashy style - so remove lettuce and add queso) and they were pretty yummy. The fried chicken was good and the chipotle sauce was good but not spicy. The taco was good but the flavor was pretty simple and didn't blow me away. Overall: the food was yummy but so expensive. I probably wouldn't go back unless it was for a special occasion. Water rating: 7/10. It was good water

We have been going to this location at least once a week over the summer. We would get the green chile pork tacos and queso. The tacos were full, the meat was full of flavor and juicy, the tortillas were fresh and soft. All very very good and consistent. Once school started we stopped going every week. We went today, Sunday morning, and were very disappointed. I'm convinced we had tacos from last night. The pork had no flavor they were dry and tough to eat, the tortillas were hard. My daughter got an avocado with her quesadilla and it was brown. How could that be possible If the restaurant just opened? Who would serve this and think it's ok? We've already nixed other Torchy's in our area and now it seems like we will have to nix this location too.

I'd wanted to try La Cocina for a while for that reason and those plans finally came to fruition. You walk up to a counter that has all the ingredients for taco making right in front of you. The guy asks you how many you are going to want, and if you want flour or corn, so he can let them know in the back to make your tortillas fresh. About 2 minutes later, out came our tortillas. I ordered 3: one with eggs and bacon, one with some kind of egg and sausage combo and one non-breakfast taco with fajita meat. The fajita taco was just okay, but the breakfast tacos had me thinking about them for hours after the fact. They aren't very big, so if you're a growing boy like me, I'd aim for 4-5 of them. The guy behind the counter tried to guide us into his suggestion of 2 each, but I jumped in and said make it 3 for me. If I could go back in time, I would have done 4 and made them all the breakfast variety. Both breakfast tacos were straight bangers from another dimension. All the sauces were great and none were too spicy. I might have to return to this place sooner rather than later because I really did think about it the rest of the day. I love you, La Cocina.

I initially googled birria tacos near me and seen a review say something along the lines of 'their birria tacos are to die for' so I had to try them out. Thank you to whoever posted that review! It was actually like 5 minutes up the street, which was so convenient. It's next to the store/gas station. Plenty of options for parking, but there's not any traditional parking lines or spaces. I just parked near the side. Also, I believe they ONLY take cash! Of course I ordered the birria tacos and ate them there. They were pretty good and I could definitely see myself coming back (especially for the convenience). I will say that I've had better (I'm a huuuuge authentic taco lover & I've had plenty of birria tacos from different places/cities). I would give them a 8/10. I was looking for it to be more on the "messier" side (packed with meat, real cheesy, loaded with onions and cilantro), but theirs was more on the conservative side lol which I'm glad they took their time making it, but I like my birria real messy! Between the family, we tried the barbacoa, chicharron, chicken fajita, and a fajita quesadilla. The fresh homemade tortillas really make a difference in every bite. I'd read reviews mentioning they were huge, but honestly, I didn't find them particularly oversized. Not a complaint at all, just not what I expected going in! My daughter loved her quesadilla and especially the cheese pull, which passed her personal "cheese test" with flying colors. The chicharron in salsa verde was a standout for me, perfectly seasoned, with no need for extra salt or salsa. Personally, I'd ask for the onion to be chopped just a bit smaller but that really is the only "complaint" I have. I also ordered the charro beans based on earlier reviews, and they were every bit as flavorful as promised. I'm already looking forward to trying their fresh-squeezed orange juice on our next visit. The staff was wonderfully welcoming from start to finish, and my husband, who went in with low expectations, was blown away by how delicious everything was. We're both so glad we gave this place a try. If you're looking for comforting, well-seasoned food in a warm, inviting setting, Nando's Tacos is absolutely worth the visit.

My brother and I stopped in for carryout breakfast tacos on a Sunday morning. Alas, they didn't have brisket breakfast tacos, but had some good alternatives. Their flour tortilla is the choice here, and I believe it is Sonoran style: good enough to just eat by itself. My absolute favorite was the barbacoa ($3.25), very tender stewed beef with added onion and cilantro...not meant to be a breakfast taco I think. The other 3 tacos I tried did have egg. The potato & egg ($3.25) had big chunks of potato and plenty of egg: very filling not particularly tasty. The chorizo and egg ($3.25) was was prepared together, with the small chorizo pieces mixed in with the egg. And the fajita and egg ($4.79) used two slices of skirt steak flavored with fajita flavoring...for my preference, works better in skillet fajitas than in a breakfast taco. They also have menudo on the weekends, and both their corn and flour tortillas are homemade. As mentioned before, the flour tortillas are really good, and the barbacoa is definitely worth a visit.
