I think I overhyped it for myself, maybe since I have not been to a torcheys in about a year. Came here on Halloween, 4 of us, around 5pm. It wasn't crowded at all, and there wasn't much noise. Not sure if the cashier was just flustered or what. One person says queso, one person says salsa. I think she made it too hard on herself by asking do you want a side of salsa? We get our food and guess what... No queso. I go back up there and ask and she said oh I thought someone said no queso. Bout the only reason I like torcheys. So instead of courtesy free queso, something most places would do, I just made another payment. I had a fajita taco, meat was pretty dry, and a trailer park. Both tacos were lukewarm. Next time just get some queso to go and get some street tacos from a gas station nearby. read more

We have been coming to this location for years now and consistently had good tacos and queso here. It is a reliably delicious place! I rarely stray from my trashy trailer park selection. My sons get Wranglers and Bean and Cheese Tacos for a milder option. The Tipsy chick though is spot on delicious! loved it as well. read more

Torchy's Tacos - Wow! What a fun place! If you love tacos this is the place for you!! - Tex-Mex Near Me - Plano, Texas

The queso and chips here are amazing. A bit on the spicy side but really good. It might have something to do with the guacamole surprise in the center! Today I got the beef fajita taco on a flour tortilla. The beef was over cooked and chewy and the cheese wasn't melted. Just not good at all. My son got the trailer park, extra trashy. It wasn't worth the picture. Out of 3 he only ate 1. I gave it three stars because of the queso and previous experience read more

Fun place to go with friends. The staff is very friendly and good atmosphere. I will go again

There's no social distancing, they discontinued curb side pick up. There's way more than 25% people in here. I placed a phone order for pick up. When I arrived they took down the parking spots for curbside pick up. I called and asked if I could have it delivered to my vehicle, they said I have to come inside and wait in line. I've seen 60 people enter and there are easily 100 people in here right now. As I stood in line for 20 minutes, pick up was placed at 11am for a pick up time of 12:30pm May 5th, I finally got to the counter and my food wasn't ready or even made. So now I'm stuck in the main dining area with someone at every table. I even had someone almost leaning against me, I told them "EXCUSE ME". WHO MANAGES THIS PLACE? Their is no social distancing, there's no capacity in place. It's mind blowing. I'll never be back to this location. So awful read more

All tacos are tasty and good. We tried both Veg and Chicken tacos. Taco size is small, so need to order more than 1 taco. Fried Avocado, Chips + Queso, Chicken Fajita are good. They also gave us extra tray of Chips. read more

Bar service is dog shit. It's busy. They only have one bartender and that bartender does not hustle. Spends time chatting with the regulars while letting people sit for 15 mins before offering to take their order. Spent an hour+ eating at the bar. Would have liked to be in and out in 30 mins to have two tacos and a margarita. read more

Torchy's Tacos - Backed up to the door, more so on weekends - Tex-Mex Near Me - Plano, Texas

We drive the extra mile to go to this location. The food is always great and the people are like family. Shay knows our order by heart and always greets us with biggest smile. 5stars! read more

Our takeout order tonight was ready 1 hour after the scheduled pickup time. There were consistently 35-50 people waiting inside the restaurant for the whole hour that I was there. It was impossible to social distance, and no alternative was offered rather than waiting inside while they screamed your name to tell you that their order was ready. Almost every other restaurant is offering curbside pickup and all that we have tried have had orders ready on time, but not Torchy's. The sad part is that the food was their normal, good quality. The service and waiting situation just aren't acceptable right now. read more

Torchy's has consistently great food and service. The staff is always super helpful. I always get the salad with grilled chicken, and a generous amount of chipotle sauce! The chips and quest are also great, with nice thin chips. read more

Yesterday, had the taco of the month called Tokyo drifter and it was just amazing! The pork was soft fully of flavour from the sauces - just the right amount of sweet, sour and spice. There was also some crunch inside the taco which was an awesome surprise. I hope they will make this a regular taco on their menu. The other tacos we tried were the brushfire, baja shrimp, and chicken fajita. They were good too, except the the cheese in the fajita wasnt so great. It overtook the wonderful flavours of the fajita chicken which wasnt so nice. But everything else was good! read more

They've moved up from a 1 to 2 star review. A 100% decrease in suckage! Sort of. At least it was really clean this time? Wife ordered a Trailer Park Trashy. Her taco was cold. I ordered a Democrat in a bowl & Turkey Mole in a bowl. The portion sizes were fair, however the Democrat was cold, and the Turkey Mole lukewarm. The turkey was dry as a popcorn fart, and the shredded beef wasn't moist alongside having a crunchy crust. These issues tied with my wife's cold taco and the time it took to come suggest it was floundering under an insufficient heat lamp too long. They go from a messy dumpster fire, to a clean but unappetizing menu. I can count 1 out of 4 of my most recent experiences here being any good. I wish their were better alternatives vs. just Taco Bell, which at times is an honest step up. read more

First time visitor. We were headed to a burger place for a late lunch and it was closed. Saw Torchy's and noted a fair amount of customers. Surely this must mean good eats, right? Right!! These are above average tacos folks. Tried the Fried Avocado, the Green Chili Pork and the Beef Fajita...plus chips and queso. All were excellent with different yummy sauces. Did not try any alcoholic beverages, but the sweet tea on tap was just right! It's casual, there's a bar, outside seating and service with a smile. Found a new favorite and can't wait to try the rest of Torchy's menu!! read more

If you spend any real time at Torchy's you will come to find out that something really cool is going on with them. Stood at the counter for 5+ mins, no one came to serve us. Several employees walked past and completely ignored us. Place was empty.

Another Taco spot in Dallas! I love the variety this place has, in fact the menu can be a little overwhelming. This particular Torchys has a bar and had the NFL games playing, great for a Sunday brunch! Ps the bloody marys here were not that great :( My buddy and I got 8 different tacos and split each one. To be honest we really only enjoyed the BAJA SHRIMP. Most of the tacos lacked flavor, too salty, or had too much going on. I love the concept, love the wide range of ingredients. But i feel Torchys are "biting more then they can chew". Rather then having 30 things on their menu, they should focus on the few things they do really well, and few tacos that are really good. Sometimes too many options can be a bad thing. And ps we all love liquor but do you really need a full bar here. The quality of the drinks/bar service was sub-standard so maybe sticking to beer/ margaritas would make things much easier for them. Till then I prefer Velvet Taco all day! read more

Every table is dirty. Seriously. Every one. If I had know this I would have chosen another lunch place.

I remember this place being overpriced and mediocre. Not one to live in the past, I figured I'd give them a try while I was stuck at Discount tire for an hour plus. So, i order my taco. No one is here. As I'm waiting (almost 20 mins), a few other people come in and order. Some 10 minutes or more later. Fast forward. 1 of the 3 get their food first... the other 2 get it at the same time as me. Then it comes with the wrong tortilla. Really? So' as I post this... waiting on them to swap out tortillas, and every person that came in after me has left. Glad I,'m not in a hurry. read more

Not quite velvet, but way closer to work and still solid tacos. They don't skimp on meat or filling and they have a variety of options. Personal favorites are the crossroads and brush fire. The fajita chicken is also a solid option, I like to add a little diablo sauce to it. Be warned the diablo sauce doesn't mess around, but the flavor is excellent. Street corn is also a solid choice, though it is less creamy and more Smokey than velvet taco. The green chili queso is another must order if you're not doing corn. The chips are just right on thickness and consistency, though they give you enough queso you may have to ask for extra chips. Both the queso and corn Benefit from diablo sauce remaining from the taco. read more

Super fun place to eat. Not authentic Mexican fare and definitely not Tex Mex! Delicious riffs on tacos! Each one is original and packed with flavor! My fave is the Brushfire. Love this place Cody is awesome!! Had a great conversation about football and is just very personable!!

The best tacos In town always good and big portions, chips n queso great too!. Torchy's is a goto for us

The food here is good and so is the customer service. The tacos are great!!! The area was clean. I have no complaints.

Texas style, tacos anyone? YES! I was honestly skeptical with all of their ridiculous tacos and thought that these white folk done ruined tacos...but I was wrong! Not only were the flavors on point, from their protein to their pickled onions, but they also gave you a choice between corn and flour tortilla! Thank goodness cuz, growing up in Los Angeles, I don't do flour tortilla, feel me? Their portions are huge, so 3 tacos were more than enough for me. Their sodas threw me off, because I believe they were the "healthier" versions...cane sugar, less sugar...something to that effect. I don't care for it, because I've noticed that they have less carbonation as well. No matter... My favorite thing there was their queso dip! HOLY SHIETTTT!! I've never had better queso dip in my life! If that's all they served, I would've been happy. I practically finished an entire basket of chips by myself. SO FIRE. Their elote was pretty good as well! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town for work! read more

Food - 5 Service - 4 Value - 5 This is our go-to place for tacos! Our favorites are the Green Chile Pork and The Democrat with the chips (we request no salt) and queso as a must too. I hate to say it, but Torchy's Tacos made a couple of changes since the last time I came, and I do not feel like the changes were good. They added chorizo to a lot of items, we tried it with the queso and a taco, and it wasn't good. It is a shame because normally I really enjoy their food. I do like all the upgrades in the restaurant itself, very nice. read more

This is my spot! I love the queso here it's so bomb. I always order chips and queso along with the brushfire taco. The brushfire taco is my absolute favorite.
