I proceed to call and the phone assistance will not accept credit card expiration dates i then speak with someone at the store who put me on hold. on hold for several minutes to the point that I'm already at the store. and what do I find?? no one on the store, employees just hanging out and me on hold for no reason. the ONLY reason someone got up was because I had your hold music on speaker at the front line. zero stars is more correct but I can't physically give you a lower score. read more

One word: Exceptional‼ We decided to patronize this restaurant while displaced from Hurricane Isaac. From the outside I didn't know what type of restaurant it was all I knew and saw was that it had alot of people. So the food must be good right? Right! We had the chicken fajitas, Baja shrimp, and mr orange. Let's first talk about the scrumptious ice, like did y'all order it from Fiji! It was so good. Secondly the chicken fajita tacos are marinated in something that makes it taste exceptional. It was soo good. I didn't like the fried Baja shrimp, maybe fried to hard. Would like it grilled maybe. This review has been a long time coming. My order arrived cold in the middle. Not just lukewarm. COLD. My husband tried my order too and was shocked because parts of it were warm while others were cold. I would love to take a tour of the processes they have in the kitchen because I suspect some of the ingredients aren't fresh or are frozen. Not sure what happened. I would have been fine eating it lukewarm but this was legitimately cold. I had it sent back and didn't receive a single apology for the crap quality. Then that same order also arrived partially cold. The server was really rude to me when I pointed it out. I am not surprised this establishment has such a poor rating. It's not a good place to eat and the people working there are unpleasant and the cooks don't know how to cook. There are way better places to eat in Austin. First off I not impressed at all I ordered the beef fajita taco and the beef was completely dry and no flavor as for the salmon taco it was ok....Taco Deli has a better fresh selection of tacos.. The one thing that stood out to me and made leave faster was that they were not enforcing the mask order. People would walk in and take off their mask and walk right by you without a worry in the world. That is really bad but now I know that torchys will be crossed off of my list.. read more

If I could give this location ZERO stars I definitely would! I went to the Pflugerville location on 10/15/25 to have drinks with a few friends. I was the first to arrive so I waited at the bar. When I came in the bartender and I locked eyes and I sat down. She proceeded to talk to one of the couples that was at the bar while wiping down the bar, (there were 2 couples ) The conversation was not about ordering food or drinks it was more personal. So I waited. During that time another employee brought out one of the couples' food, but handed it to the wrong couple. Bartender berated him in front of everyone. I was embarrassed for him. It was a simple mistake! But that's just partially what the review is about. Other than her look at me when i first walked in she didn't acknowledge me! She continued to wipe down the bar and have personal conversations with the two couples. She then walked around the bar (passing behind me) and continued to wipe down the bar where the entrance was. I was thinking oh! she's finally coming to help me. NOOO, she asked the couple on the end if they needed anything else (and had a mini convo) and then asked the 2nd couple if they were ok! Which both couples stated they were good. She goes to the register, and keys something in. At that point I'm upset that she blatantly disregarded me. So I said Hi! Hello, can I please get a menu?! She pulls out the menu very fast and places it on the counter, waits about 5 seconds and say sarcastically Are you ready to order? I responded with you just gave me the menu, I need time to look it over. I quickly text the group i was meeting that I would be leaving due to the service. I went to speak to a manager to advise him of the situation. I told him everything I stated above and he literally said - Ohh ok I understand. There was no apology for the racist/bad service-nothing. Ok this was a good experience without a doubt. They have a taco of the month to add to the unique names they have for their tacos. We ordered a Democrat, Republican, and trailer park tacos. There is a full bar with outside eating areas and the queso is always free.when people are dining in, getting to go orders and pick up orders are continually happening you know the place is good. read more

I love Torchy's however this location (Pville) needs to slow down in the kitchen some and cook their food esp the chicken. My favorite taco is the trailer park taco and its been cold and under cooked several times. No one wants a cold chicken taco! I'm sure the wait staff knows if the chicken has been sitting out and is cold. Throw it out! You would not serve it to yourself, so don't serve it to us! Cook the damn chicken! If you put a cold piece of chicken in a taco and then put cold topping on it....guess what.....It's cold!! SMDH! On another note, my husband and brother got sick from that same taco and the same location at different times and vow to never go back. Cook the meat so customers do not get sick! I just LOVE Torchy's and this one is a great location. My order is always served fresh and piping hot. My modifications are always done correctly. The staff is consistently pleasant too which is always a plus. I love coming here to sit at the bar too. Not all Torchy's have a bar so much respect from us drankers lol. Happy hour and brunch drink specials can't be beat. If you've never been to Torchy's I highly recommend the ace of spades off the "secret menu" and the tipsy chick when available. Enjoy! read more

Today I ordered fried avocado tacos and I was served rotten food. I tasted the tacos and I could tell something was off, I looked at the tacos and the avocados were black. I was served rotten food. I threw up everywhere. I called the Manny the manager and he was apathetic regarding his restaurant serving rotten food. If I was served rotten food, just imagine what they're serving you that you're unaware of. Once again disappointed. We keep giving this torchys chance after chance. We have hit the point of insanity now, and literally have to stop trying to kid ourselves it will be ok. Each time it's always a fail. I am on a very specific diet and pregnant so there are things I can't eat or they will send me the emergency room. Order two bowl tacos tonight and both had items on it I took off. I couldn't eat or salvage the bowls in the slightest. I really want to love it and support restaurants near my home but I don't go often to this location anymore. The to-go tacos have been messy and soggy beyond what you would expect. After coming to this Torchys for years as a local resident this has been by far the most uncomfortable and bizarre experience! A young Kid named Ryan I believe, worked the front counter taking orders on 7/24/2024 at approximately 1:20pm made this experience extremely uncomfortable. After placing my order and using the card machine which seemed to not work, I selected the option for "$0 no tip". After doing that, the machine seemed to not work, at which point Ryan decided to make sure that I was in fact selecting the "$0 tip" option. After I confirmed that this was correct, he then stated again, try again with the "$0 tip option". With the machine not working and his having to "reset" it. Again decided to make sure he mentioned that what we selected was indeed the $0 tip option about 5 more times. Food is always great, but never have we ever been so uncomfortable during simply ordering food at a Torchys tacos. Just another torchys in another location. I have had torchys all over austin. Came here for lunch and ordered a salad with chicken and a brushfire taco. Of course can't go to torchys and not order the queso. Queso is must at torchys. Best thing about torchys, good and restaurants are consistent. Only if the service could be good too in each location. Pretty solid Torchy's. It's the one closest to me and their tacos have always been delicious and hot. Their menu has a bunch of variety for everyone's tastes, and their chips and queso is consistently great. Staff is good as well and don't have to wait very long for your order to arrive. My taste buds were immediately mad at me for depriving them of such tasty tacos. I had a shrimp and a avocado taco. They were both delicious and huge! I could have probably just ate one and been satisfied. They have tons of different tacos to choose from so anyone can find what they are looking for. They were super busy around lunch time, but they were still quick and efficient. This specific location was very well kept considering how much foot traffic they have. Moved to Austin 7 months ago. "You gotta try Torchy's" everyone keeps saying. Finally tried this location as it's close to where I work. If this is representative of Torchy's, I seriously don't get what all the hype is about and would definitely never go to Torchy's again. Based on other reviews, tho, think this location might be a fluke, so miiiiight try one more location. The BF and I ordered three different tacos: the Crossroads (brisket), the Green Chile Pork, and the monthly special Tailgater (bacon, Panko chicken, blue cheese, and way too much other stuff). All three were extremely dry and overstuffed with overcooked meat. I know, I know, too much meat? But the ratio was just wrong with the other fillings and it ends up being way too dry and chewy. The tortillas were also somehow really dried out. We had to douse each taco in salsa just to moisten it a bit, which then made the salsa completely overpowering. Also, I decided blue cheese has no place in a taco. Blech. Giving an extra star because our order was ready quickly. read more

Not sure why this Torchys is at less than 4 stars. I have been a regular at this one - it's a go-to after a Costco shopping haul (right on the opposite side of Kelly lane). The service is always on point - friendly and fast. This Torchys also has a nice outdoor seating space lit up with string lights. I find this location very spacious - definite plus during COVID days. Our typical order is the fried avocado, migas, burrito (just okay). On this visit, we spotted a plant based beef monthly special. We asked if they would swap the beef for friend avocado and it was bomb! I will keep coming here! read more
