Have had Torchy's so many times from 2016 to 2022, I remember the taste and the portions. This is not it. What I got was a pathetic shell of its former glory. Private equity ruins another one. Take something good, decrease quality, decrease portions, lower customer service, stop doing what brought people in the first place, and then increase prices. And there you go. Higher short term profits, higher margins for stakeholders, and lower quality, lower experience, and basically nothing left for the consumer until the whole brand collapses long term. I'm not even huge on Torchy's itself but this location has never let me down and has given me the best meals and service of all the Torchy's I've been to. Found my Tuesday spot for dinner while staying in the area! It's good for any day with the great rotating specials but for me Taco Tuesday it is! Great tacos and margaritas and even got turned on to the Torchy's Tini which comes in its own shaker. Diego was helpful in making some great recommendations and service was excellent. Horrible service today 1/9/2026. I ordered online for pick up at 6:30pm. I arrive and I was waiting for 15-20 minutes with about 8 other people who were also there for pick up orders. They had been waiting for longer than I have and after I left they stayed waiting. I saw the manager be rude to a customer who was dining in and had been waiting for his food for 45min. When I finally got my order I just checked that the 2 tacos I ordered & the chips/queso were in the bag then I came back l home. When I arrived at home I realized they put onion on my tacos which I had specifically ordered without onion. Since I drove 30 min from Elgin to Pflugerville I ended up just throwing away my tacos as I am allergic to onion. Huge disappointment. read more

Food is always cold! I came here a couple days ago because I love how transparent their menu is with allergens since I have a 15 mo with a severe egg allergy. I ordered the missionary style green carnitas , only flour tortilla ,no cheese or pickled onions. As well as one chicken baja and the new taco of the month (both no jalapeños) . And refried beans with rice combo for the little one. All the tacos came as is ( not the first time this happened. The last two times I came they also forgot to take off what I asked to be off the taco . All of the tacos were served cold as usual and the only hot thing was the rice and beans. I feel so disappointed leaving here since I didn't have a nice meals as I used to years ago. This location doesn't improve at all. And we ended our quick lunch with burnt churros as well. Highly disappointed with the service level and standards at this location. I'm a big fan of Torchy's, but this location has significant staffing concerns. Racist bartenders for one. Sat at one of the bar tops asked if we can order. Bartender was dismissive and said someone else will get back to us. By the time a third employee comes along, I asked a gentleman who was responsible for serving my area which he politely pointed at the other two bartenders. I've been patronizing this location since I moved up here in 2018 (or whenever they opened up shortly thereafter) (having been an original fan of the Spicewood Springs location). Today, a weekday, I went at lunchtime and there was no one in line in front of me. I've never NOT had to wait in line at a Torchy''s (even in Amarillo, lol). Until today. Must be a fluke, right? Or maybe lots of folks have seen what I saw today and are making a better choice for lunch. First, the young woman who took my order couldn't have been nicer. (She and the bartender account for the 1 star.) Scanner broken. But was able to access my Torchy's loyalty account with my phone number. No biggie. Head to a table. It had been cleared but was still greasy and crumb-ridden. I asked the bartender for a cloth with which to clean it. She very cheerfully accommodated my request and was very nice when I returned it. Cleaning the table was a snap. Then I noticed the chair I was going to sit on and it looked as though it hadn't been wiped down in several days/weeks. Same with the other chair at the table. And the napkin dispenser was disgusting. No fresh lemon or lime for my tea. Again, would be nice. They've had it in the past. Surly food delivery person brings me my two dishes (in bowls). The sad little fried avocado bowl was easily 40% smaller than I have previously received here. It had maybe a tablespoon of refried beans (I think, I honestly couldn't tell if it was beans or just the chunky parts of the pico.) I even asked one of the employees if the fried avocado still came with refried beans. I couldn't find them. For my second bowl, I ordered grilled shrimp. A new item for me to order so I don't have a baseline to compare, but portion also so small it barely covered the bottom of the bowl. And I know I should have taken pics. My bad. But go yourself and prove me wrong. Everything is expensive these days, so the sticker shock wasn't for the price itself, but for the amount of food I got for $19 (tip included). I've never, before today, left Torchy's hungry after 2 tacos/bowls. I did today. And how do they, in the notorious cell signal "dead zone" of Stonehill, NOT provide free wi-fi? It's like they're actively trying to drive away business. And this isn't just a "one bad day and you're done" sitch. I've seen the signs of dwindling service, cleanliness and food quantity/quality creeping in over the last couple of years and just ignored it. Until today. My queso was great! We had green chile pork tacos that melted in our mouths. Our food arrived on time and was just the right temperatur. We appreciated the attention that we received as well. We prefer to come to this Torchy's because of the atmosphere and the way it is laid out; we love the overall look. I remember when Torchy's used to be a food trailer serving drunken revelers late into the night. So now here I am visiting the biggest Torchy's I've personally visited in Pflugerville. It's got a huge outdoor patio! An entire dedicated bar! Plenty of booths and table seating! I usually don't go to Torchy's so often as it's never been very vegan-friendly (you have to make a ton of mods that take away from the original taste). However, I wanted to try their new VEGAN taco, the MoFaux! It features Cowboy-style beyond beef, with green chiles, grilled corn, peppers, avocado, cilantro, and topped with spicy Diablo sauce. The price of 1 taco after tax is exactly $6.66. \M/ So yeah...it's not a cheap taco, but at least it's a great number. And the other thing is that it is a BIG tac. They aren't kidding when they say it's fully loaded. The Beyond beef is cooked very well and is so flavorful. The veggies add freshness and a fabulous combination of textures. The Diablo sauce adds a great spicy kick and ties it all together. This location gets busy so tables can remain dirty after people leave and are not bussed quick enough and wait times can vary. There's also terrible internet/phone service in this area so trying to check in on Yelp or posting food pictures is a no-go, unfortunately. I had the best experience ever at Torchy's in Pflugerville. It was all thanks to Nichelle! From the moment I walked in, she was warm, welcoming, and clearly went above and beyond to make sure every single guest felt taken care of, even when it was busy. What really stood out was how, once the rush slowed down, she took the time and initiative to put together a separate vegan menu. It was to make it easier for me next time I come in, which will be so helpful! Before passing me the vegan menu she made, she even made sure my dine-in experience was great. (I ate outside, and yes, it was great from the cleanliness to the food.) I've never had an employee be so thoughtful and intentional about making sure I felt included and accommodated, especially when it comes to being in a busy place like Torchy's. People like Nichelle are rare, and she deserves all the recognition for her kindness, attention to detail, and outstanding customer service. Republican - 5* I loved the jalapeno in the sausage. And all the jokes I made about this taco over lunch. Tipsy Chicken - 4* this was the first one I ate and all it remember was liking it and then liking other ones more. Scratch-made Churros - 3* the amount you got was really nice, it was a little more than I was expecting. The churros were pretty soft and doughy in the center with a slight crisp to them on the outside. I tend to like my churros a tad crunchier so there's a point down for that. The dipping sauce (dulce de leche) was also average, I kind of wish they had other options though what options to provide I'm not sure. Overall impressions from a first time visitor. Torchy's Tacos is a hit. I'd definitely recommend it and just let everyone know that there might be a wait for the food if you go. The worst Torchy's location that I've ever been to. First of all, they only had one cashier handling the orders including the to-go orders. It's fine, I understand if it gets busy, but it was not super busy. Second, the food came out super cold. They didn't even try to heat it up. There was beef in my grilled shrimp taco. I had specifically asked them to really cook mine well since I'm pregnant and I'm scared of getting any kind of food poisoning. This will be the last time come to this location.
