Torchy's is usually my first stop after landing in Houston. I've been twice, so far, and I still crave it whenever I am not in Texas. A friend who lives in the area (born and bred) suggested it. And I am glad she did! I am not crazy about tacos, but these are probably the most delicious tacos I've ever had. I love their Baja Shrimp tacos and the Trailer Park (chicken) tacos. I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 because both times they were not generous with the sauce. It's so good but the portion is so little (small container). Nevertheless, my tacos were filled to the brim with every ingredient. Deliciousness in each bite. Sad to see it end. Service was ok; there's constant foot traffic so things move quickly. I am not too fond of outdoor seating (bugs and such), but we dined outside both times and no complaints, except the wind blowing our napkins away. This place has been a go‑to favorite for my friends and me for about a decade, but it no longer resembles the restaurant or level of service we once knew and loved. We stopped in recently, and 'Jacqueline' (at least according to the receipt) gave us the worst experience we've ever had there. The bartenders and servers used to uphold a certain standard of professionalism and customer service, but that has clearly been taken off the menu. While I understand people have off days, a customer asking for diablo sauc (for the third time since ordering food) doesn't warrant a response like, "You don't need no damn diablo sauce." Completely unprofessional, unreal, and unexpected. When she finally came out from behind the bar to fulfill this simple request (with no one else at the bar or in the bar area during the entire 30+ minutes we were there), she could be heard clearly muttering "mutha fuckin diablo sauce" under her breath as she walked behind us toward the kitchen. When I asked what the attitude was about--over such a basic request--she stopped at the kitchen door, held it open, and began screaming, "You're the one with the attitude! I don't give a fuck!" I responded in kind, "No, I just asked for some diablo sauce with my meal... three times." She continued yelling, peppering her rant with expletives, before walking into the kitchen and never returning. We never saw her again. About ten minutes later, someone from the kitchen came out and allowed us to close out. I assume she was a manager or assistant manager, but she didn't acknowledge nor address the "elephant in the room" at all--just processed our checks. The bartender refused to make a bloody mary with peppers in it. Told my husband there was no peppers available behind the bar or in the kitchen. Maybe she was having a bad day and didn't want to be at work.?. Still no excuse to not serve something that is clearly on the menu. I haven't had a drink from here in a while, so I was surprised there was horchata (sweet and thick), punch (okay), lemonade, tea, and sodas. I sat at the bar, which was playing a World Cup match. There were screens on the other (2) sides of the bar and another in the corner of the dining area. Some were playing the World Cup or other games. First elite review of 2026. A classic. This Torchy's I used to live in the vintage back in 2022, but this Torchy's since has gotten a huge face life. They are so efficient, they have a self order kiosk up front by the time we were finished and walking to fill out drinks. Our food came out before we could even pick a table. PHENOMENAL, the food was great per usual. Trailer parks and queso are a guaranteed hit. The manager Rob is doing a great job with running this locations. If you're looking for a quick and filling meal then I would give this Torchy's a visit. This was my first time visiting one after raving reviews from people about it being a good Tex-Mex restaurant. There was a lot of filling in both tacos I thought the flavors were underwhelming in my opinion compared to other restaurants that serve Tex-Mex. Maybe I didn't order the right things but it was a lot of food for the value. The rice and beans lacked flavor. I may come back to try something else but I definitely would prefer other places. Amazing !! I have been here twice now, the restaurant is super clean and inviting, outside is kept up really nice. I'm from Seattle, so being able to sit outside and eat is something that I have always wanted to enjoy. They brought the food out to me and they were insanely nice! Their menu received an "update" but you're just paying more. They brought out the queso last. Torchy's used to be a delicious establishment, but now they charge about 7$ for a taco, when it used to be affordable considering they're not a complete dine in restaurant... or atleast more fast food to me. The new self-serve kiosks at Torchy's are terrible. I placed my order, the kiosk said it went through, so I sat and waited almost 20 minutes before realizing nothing was happening. Only then did I check the receipt and see a tiny note saying the order never actually reached the kitchen. The whole process was confusing and way too complicated for something as simple as ordering tacos. Having to waste time just to find out my order didn't even exist was super annoying. I went to pick up some cakes and was surprised to see a torchys in the same parking lot. I placed an online order and 20 minutes later, went inside to pick up. I ordered a couple of brushfire tacos, with jerk chicken, two Baja shrimp tacos and a chicken fajita taco, a taco bowl with brushfire chicken, and two orders of queso, one with chipotle beef and the other without. Everything was fresh and ready to pick up. Very filling. One thing I must say is make sure you have all of your bags. I almost walked out without the included chips. Walking into the Torchy's I was excited to see the advertisement of the new tacos! The graphic design on the board showing a representation of a video game is pretty cool! Which the tacos were very good! It wasn't to packed today but we did wait in line for awhile. Usually where we check out it was no one standing. They were over near the bar. I wasn't to sure what was going on. The cashier wasn't to friendly either. When it was time to order she didn't call us down we just walked up and asked do we order here. It was kind of confusing. While waiting for food the restaurant was clean but I did have to clean my own table. The food was fresh and the waitress that brought over our food was kind. I really enjoyed the chips and queso today plus the avocado bites. Parking was ok. It is a shared parking lot but it's not to bad. I still always enjoy the vintage location. read more

Ambiance seems cool, they have a bar where you can sit and eat. The staff is nice. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed. The cleanliness was not as great. Food on the floor and chairs, etc. We can start off with the queso & chips - wow so good but they served us crumbs. Would've been nice to get full size chips. The fried avocado taco is awful - one bite of that and I was done. The tipsy chick taco is decent - the actual chicken itself had not much flavor other than a bbq burnt taste but combined with the other items, it was tolerable. My partner loved his two tacos - salmon & shrimp tacos. I would probably come back to try to the drinks and have chips. But overall I've had better tacos at a much better price. I had the Shrimp Taco on the Corn Tortilla and the Jerk Chicken on the flour tortilla. I think I prefer the flour tortilla. I don't have pictures because the food look messy but they were good. The chicken was juicy, tender, and seasoned well. Drinks were good! We got a paloma and a strawberry frozen margarita and both were strong but flavorful. What can I say about Torchys that hasn't been said before.... I've been to Torchys more than I can cut and I've only been disappointed once. I was instantly hooked upon my first bite into the trashy trailer park this was about 7 years ago. Now here we are in 2022 and I'm still a huge fan I can always go to any Torchys and know what to expect and that is a true authentic Tex-Mex. I love the creative-ness of the tacos even though, I don't think anyone asked for a chicken and waffle taco to be made lol On this To-go visit I got the Tipsy chick and an airstream salad w/o protein. In my humble opinion this salad is the best dang salad and nobody talks about this. I could create a review just on how tasty this airstream salad is. Would I describe myself as a Torchy's fan? Yes. That makes this review hard for me to write. I stopped in at Torchy's for dinner this week. I grabbed a few tacos and a drink. The first thing I noticed is the place was not very crowded so I figured service would be fast. From the point of ordering to the delivery of the tacos to the table, the wait was somewhat long. I know there are staffing problems these days so I just went with the flow. When I got the food, the taco temperatures ranged from lukewarm to warm - nothing was hot. Food is good but this location frequently gets the order wrong. Tonight I stood there while my to go order was 35 minutes late. Many upset customers standing around and the manger only offered up a doordash excuse when I finally asked to speak to him. Since it was a food truck in Austin I've always loved Torchy's. Trailer Park Trashy is my absolute favorite taco. The queso is awesome. The service here has been hit or miss at this location, though. Liz was our bartender today and she did such a fantastic job! She greeted us quickly and took our drink and appetizer order! We got sangria, lemonade and the queso! I love getting the queso here, it is so delicious! We went for breakfast tacos, but after Liz suggested to me the taco of the month, I had to try it!! It was a brisket taco on a flour tortillas with fried onions, cilantro, corn relish, bbq sauce and chipotle sauce!!! And holy holy, it was just amazing! Their Queso is in our families top 5! Although the Vintage Park location has had some recent disappointments due to cleanliness issues, seemingly stemming from the lunch/dinner rush, the quality of their tacos and drinks remains consistently enjoyable. My favorite is the brisket taco, heavy on the brisket, with their avocado sauce. One will definitely fill you up if you get the Queso as a starter. I am such a fan of the passion fruit gin Collins that I now make it at home. Please don't take that off the menu anytime soon! read more
