I waited about 10 mins for my food, my buzzer didn't go off so I asked the cashier who then directed me to the food runner to ask where my food was. He said it was coming up next. I had gone to Torchy's before and actually sat inside at the bar. From what I remember, everything was great. We were more there for the drinks, and the atmosphere. Today I decided to order in and get stuff done around the house. I'm not angry.... Just disappointed I guess. Without taxes, fees and the tip, this order was $26. Everything was so tiny, and my $7 burrito in a bowl was a chicken strip with lettuce and cheese, in a cup. I probably wouldn't be as disappointed if it tasted good. I love the variety of tacos at Torchy's Tacos. They have selections for both the vegetarian and the meat lover in your friend group. The portions here are larger than normal tacos, but they do cost a little more ($4-5) per taco. You can also order a side of crispy chips and fresh guac if you're extra hungry. I usually get "The Republican", which is a spicy smoked sausage taco with lots of toppings (check out my photo). "The Crossroads" is also an excellent meat lovers choice. Oh man... I've wanted to try Torchy's tacos for a while now and was excited to find that they exist in Denver. Torchys did not disappoint. Chips and Queso were delicious. Why don't we have decent queso in LA? No idea but damn, it was good. Perfectly spicy, creamy texture without any graininess. We also tried the Brushfire and Baja Shrimp tacos. Both were fan-freaking-tastic. The jerk chicken was seasoned well and was just a well balanced taco with savory, sweet, spicy in every bite. I loved the atmosphere and really hope that they open up in LA some time soon. read more

Meh. They have a fun menu with lots of options but the tacos aren't that big for how expensive they are. I'd recommend Mobcraft on champa st for tacos the same price but double the size. Service was also meh, they got our order wrong and also forgot a taco but no biggie. FYI they give you a buzzer but they actually bring your food to the table for you - we thought we'd be picking it up ourselves and therefore didn't tip (& got a dirty look from the cashier, but totally warranted now that I know they had table service). Very few things make me as happy as Torchy'a tacos. I've been numerous times to Torchy's in Houston so I was excited to try this one in Denver. Between my 4 day trip in Denver we got Torchy's twice. The first was rather disappointing. We did a large takeout order (for 12 people) and I was disappointed because the tacos were a LOT smaller than usual. Like I normally get two and I am stuffed so I stuck with my normal order of two and I was still hungry. Thus, we decided to give Denver Torchy's one more try in person and we did not regret it. They have a great HH deal so I got the berry mojito. I also tried the Brushfire taco for the first time and it will definitely be a part of my regular order as it has wonderful flavor. I had Torchy's for the first time in Austin and was instantly hooked-- you can't even imagine my excitement upon realizing they had a location in Denver, too! Every time I'm in the city (at least a couple times a year), I insist that we stop at Torchy's. I've tried pretty much everything on the menu at this point, and I assure you that whatever your taco tastes may be, Torchy's got something for you. I'm partial to the Fried Avocado and the Democrat, but I always like to see what the Taco of the Month is and convince someone in my party to split it with me (this month it was a Roscoe's-chicken style one). Service can be hit or miss here, depending on when you go -- we've had quick and friendly service where the tacos have come out hot and fresh, and others were everything was kind of lukewarm and the tortillas are kinda soggy. Either way, it's 100% worth a try and one of my favorite Texas tacos place! read more

Overall solid tacos. I think the whole theme here really fits the food, the (tasty) bastardization of the simplistic taco. I had the brushfire and trailer park (extra trashy) and we also got a side of spicy tacos. The portions provided here are huge for the price. The queso was good, the consistency was great, it's made with green chile, but I didn't really taste much of it. I think they should pump up the spice level and maybe offer a few different levels, it was great, just lacked a punch (for me). The brushfire was good, flavorful chicken, albeit a little dry, I liked the addition of fruit which gave a good balance between savory and and sweet. What they don't tell u at the counter, but you should totally do, is to get some sauces when you order your tacos! (I know it's on the menu, it just wasn't clear) The trailer park was a little too simplistic for me. It was a piece of fried chicken, some garnish and getting it "trashy" removed the pico in place for queso. It just felt like a taco conceived by a child. The overall flavor was good, the texture was good, but I just felt like it wasn't very special - no interesting flavor profiles or texture to speak of. At the end of the day, it's great fast food at a decent price. However, this is a far cry from your traditional taco, and whilst some taco combinations may work, I think they need to capitalize on flavor and figure out the duds. read more

I like Torchys. I only sit at the bar though. I hate waiting in lines and the lines here are fairly long regularly. I think their tacos are so-so but they are cheap and I only need one to fill me up. Especially if I get some of their delicious queso or guac. The queso and guac are the best thing torchys has going for them. Torchy's is one of my favorite places to go to in Texas so I was beyond thrilled to learn that Torchy's was coming to Denver. The tacos are amazing! The brushfire taco is my fav! The diablo sauce is aptly named so if you don't like spice, be careful. The sauce comes on the side so you can put on as little or as much as you like. Queso is one of my favorite foods in the world and I have been having withdrawals for the five years that I have lived in Colorado. Torchy's queso is so great and is definitely the reason I keep coming back. The downside with this place is the staff. They are inconsistent, not helpful, not friendly, and overall do a poor job. Sometimes they have call ahead phone orders and sometimes they don't (and they are very rude when explaining this, with no rationale). I would really like to see more consistency and improvements with the staff (it would be a 5 star place if the service improved). IMO the food is worth the long line (which is a given so expect to wait), but there is no excuse for rude, unknowledgeable service. I thought it was just an issue when they first opened (totally understandable with a new restaurant), but it hasn't improved. read more

We ordered quite a few different tacos, fried chicken, blackened salmon, fried shrimp, fried avocado, green chile pork, jalapeno cheddar sausage and a side of their chips and queso. The portions were huge - I was stuffed after having two tacos and the chips and queso. You need to order the queso- it is lifechanging. Never knew that queso needed avocado but it does. The fattiness and sharp taste of cheese combined with the smooth creamy avocado is divine. I would also recommend getting the shrimp tacos. The shrimpies were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside and the sauce that it came with tied everything together. Would not recommend the chile pork or the trailer park fried chicken because they were extremely dry. Otherwise, all the other tacos were good and you can order as much sauce as you'd like. Torchy's would probably be one of my favorite restaurants if they took their role as being the only place in town to get vegetarian tacos more seriously. It's a prestigious position to be able to bring an end to the sad taco-less life of a vegetarian, and you can tell they do not wear the badge with honor. They do not believe in a clean and segregated grill that keeps the eggs away from the meats. If you order a meatless breakfast taco, just know you WILL have flakes of bacon or sausage all up in there because of a mixed, dirty grill. Muslims and vegetarians will need to spend some extra time getting their DoorDash refund when you unwrap one of these cross-contaminated puppies, just to throw it in the trash.
