Torchy's Tacos is a chain spot that has locations all around the US. They are known for "damn good" tacos, and after trying them out I have to say I agree. The selection of tacos was pretty wide, and they seem to always be coming out with specials and new ideas. If you're in the mood for some good tacos and want something that's a bit better than you'd get from the more known chains, this is the spot! read more

We came in for another solid lunch at Torchy's. Service was fast and the restaurant is clean with plenty of seating. I got a fried shrimp taco and the wrangler taco. The shrimp is my all time favorite! The toppings are solid and the shrimp are fried to perfection. The wrangler is the perfect breakfast taco. This is one of my favorite lunch spots! read more

This restaurant is so pleasant! It offers great service, fresh food, fresh ingredients and delicious desserts. The ambiance is amazing and you get to choose where to sit either inside or outside Their hillbilly queso is so addicting and automatically comes with chorizo every time. The guac is fresh but although I usually like it more limey and more seasoned. The churros were so authentic. They were not dry at all and you could tell they are made from scratch. I'm thankful to Jessie for proving such great service. I will be back soon and recommend you to do the same. read more

Looking for a quick bite we ended up at Torchy's Tacos. We tried the Democrat, Republican, Crossroads, and Brushfire tacos, and every single one had bold, delicious flavor combo that just worked. The Mexican Candy Margarita was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy--definitely worth ordering. The service was good, the staff took their time explaining the menu and giving recommendations since everything sounded so good. The place was clean, the vibe was laid-back, and it wasn't too busy for a Wednesday night. If you're into creative, well-made tacos, Torchy's is definitely worth a visit! read more

This was a good restaurant, I know it more on the newer side. I went here with a friend for the first time, and I realize that the entire menu was nothing but tacos for the most part. Which I did enjoy because I love the theme of the restaurant it was all about. So, while I was out with a friend, we decided to get some drinks and the drinks were delicious. I forgot the name of our waiter, but he was phenomenal as far as listening and giving us information about the restaurant. We both decided to dine and do minimal spices on our food because we don't like spiciness so much. Otherwise, this was actually a pretty good restaurant that I would love to come back to you shortly. I think it's the overall ambience I like about it. read more

Service was amazing, the tacos are off the charts good I started with a fried avocado taco on a flour tortilla, and I did the salmon taco on a corn tortilla. Then I tried the special which was a Cherasco steak and it had some type of bacon sauce on it, it was very good. I ordered a to go salad bowl, rice with the Cherasco steak, special protein, and the fried avocado for my daughter to go ! Definitely will return here It's Clean and Unique offerings read more

I didn't realize a Torchy's Tacos had opened in central Florida so my mom, sister and I decided to meet up for lunch there to try it out. The only thing a friend recommended was "don't leave there without ordering the churros." Noted. From what I gather, we missed the lunch rush so it wasn't busy (approx. 1:45pm on a weekday). The staff was able to walk us through the menu and make some recommendations. I of course ordered the churros. I had the steak fajita tacos and street corn. My mom ordered two of the breakfast tacos. The tacos were a decent size and flavorful. My sister loved her pork and shrimp tacos so much we didn't even get to taste hers The street wasn't as good as I thought it would be but not bad. My friend was absolutely correct about the churros! They were so good! Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, the dulce de leche sauce was a nice touch. The staff and place were fun and friendly. I look forward to trying more on their menu. They seem to have happy hour that starts at 3pm but I may have misread that. read more

I recently came here for the first time and was so excited to try a new taco place. I asked the girl who took my order what her recommendations were and she gave me the most popular chicken and shrimp options. I told her I was willing to try anything but pork. I got my food to go and got home and I got my shrimp taco out (excellent) and then was saddened to see a PORK taco. Really??? I wish I could have tried the chicken so maybe I should try and go back but how do you mess that up? It was my ONLY request. read more

Its been here in Longwood for like two years now but it was only after we visited a location in Austin, TX, did we we realize how good the food was. There's a nice variety of flavors on the menu and do be sure to check the website for some "off menu" specials including a Trailer Trash Combo that includes the taco, chips w/queso, and a drink. Definitely a big step up from Tijuana and we honestly don't go to Chipotle anymore. There never seems to be a crowd, which can make it a little awkward inside (we've been the only ones a few times). Give it a try. read more

After months of passing by and wondering what it was like, I finally stopped by Torchy's for dinner with my in laws. If you're looking for a quick dinner, this is a great option as you order upon entering and your food is later brought out to you. For a starter, we had the chips and queso. They were both delicious and plenty to split for 3 people. For my meal, I tried the chicken fajita and trailer park tacos. Both were amazing! My in laws also tried the trailer park taco and a burrito, which they enjoyed. The interior of the restaurant was decorated with a "torch/fire" theme, to match the name. I would love to come back. read more

One of my coworkers came into the office and talked about a new taco place called Torchy's Tacos. She said, "You gotta go!" So I went to check it out. Torchy's Tacos is a fast-casual restaurant. You order at the counter, get a number, and find a seat. Then, your food is brought to your table. The menu has fun and creative names. How about a Trailer Park taco or an order of the Democrat or Republican taco? We started with the Damn Good Tots. For our meal, I chose the Democrat and Mr. Orange tacos, while my husband opted for the Grande Burrito. We enjoyed our meal. Two tacos were enough for me. This location also has a bar, but we did not order alcoholic beverages. I read that this restaurant is originally from Austin, Texas, and has expanded to other states. I was surprised by the creative and tasty menu since sometimes chain restaurants can be hit or miss. Oh and they have coke products! read more

After hearing about this chain coming to town, we wanted to see what it was all about. We seemed to have arrived before the dinner rush which was great. We sat at the bar rather than ordering at the counter and grabbing a table inside or on the patio. The service at the bar was great. I had a house margarita and my husband had a draft beer. The marg was premade but I enjoyed the flavor nonetheless. We ordered the standard queso and chips and then a couple tacos. The taco of the month was delicious with sliced skirt steak and bacon with veggies and feta on a flour tortilla. My other taco was their green chile pork on a corn tortilla. It was a standard street taco, but the pork was moist and flavorful. I added on a side of rice and beans for us to share and it was just as I hoped. The rice had great flavor and the beans were thick and creamy. While it did get busier, it seemed like everyone was getting their food quickly. Lots of couples and families with younger kids. They share a parking lot with a large plaza so there's plenty of spaces to park. We look forward to coming back! read more

Torchy's emphatic word use prior to "good food" in their website description is not hyperbole in my opinion. I've really enjoyed the flavor of the tacos and green chile queso. My favorite taco, Crossroads on a soft tortilla, features smoked beef brisket that is moist and flavorful. The grilled onions, jack cheese, cilantro, and jalapeños provide a great combination to enhance the brisket that could stand on its own. I prefer the Ancho Aolai for the sauce (which is served separate). I was surprised by green chiles in the queso but they quickly grew on me. The guac, cotija, and diablo sauce providing an addicting flavor enhancement. Both times the chips have been crispy light and fresh. I've also enjoyed the Baja Shrimp taco but prefer the brisket. With all the options available, I'll probably try others in future visits. Ordering in person and on the app have been straight-forward and easy. In person, the staff have been helpful and friendly. I've noticed the tables are cleaned regularly. You'll find plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating and the location's access is immediately right off of SR 434, just a short distance from the intersection of SR 436 & 434. The Torchy's app has been easy to use and will load rewards when you might not expect it. Torchy's is a welcome addition to Altamonte from Austin. read more

Ambiance is super cool, they have tvs for sports and even have a full bar! This is a order and sit type of restaurant. I was very impressed with the tacos. "DAMN GOOD" is the mantra of Torchy's Tacos. With that level of confidence in their product, I had to find out for myself whether this degree of assurance was warranted...especially since many of my fellow Yelpers and colleagues were expressing equally positive sentiments towards the brand. Having started in a lone food trailer in Austin, Texas the company has branched out to over 90 locations in 14 states as of this review. Each location has its own unique and different design. The Altamonte Springs location I patronized is the first Torchy's in the Orlando region. I visited the restaurant twice during a three-day period. As this is a new fast-casual concept in the area, customers were continually entering the establishment during both times I visited. Service was friendly each of my visits with a member of management on the floor interacting with customers. As to the food, I started off with the Chips and Queso. The Chips were freshly fried with a light crunch while the Queso included a dollop of guacomole, cotija cheese and cilantro. Nice way to start off the meal. I tried three tacos during my visits. The Chicken Fajita included marinated and grilled chicken, grilled, onions and peppers, pico de gallo, cheddar jack cheese and tomatillo sauce; The Fried Avocado contained the namesake fried avocados, refried pinto beans, pico de gallo, lettuce, and cheddar jack cheese with poblano sauce. And not to be outdone, the Baja Shrimp had a generous portion of fried shrimp, cooked cabbage slaw, cotija cheese, cilantro and a chipotle sauce. What I definitely liked was the tacos can be customized to fit your heat tolerance level. Any ingredient can be removed entirely or placed on the side. Being a weakling when it comes to spice, this was a win in my book. Tasty food, welcoming ambiance and friendly service - that's pretty "DARN GOOD" ! read more

TORCHY'S IN ORLANDO!!! I first had torchy's in Austin, TX and was pleasantly surprised to find out there was one in the Orlando area. We went on Saturday morning and it was very quiet with no one being ahead of us in line. As for the food, I was very happy with the tacos, and the appetizers of the chips and green chile sauce was definitely a highlight for me. As for the corn that we received, I deducted a star because I think it could have better flavor. Service and ambiance were great and no complaints on that end. I just wish they opened Torchy's down in the Ft. Lauderdale / Miami area. read more

This was my first time coming to torchy's in the Central Florida area. In the past I had visited their location in Austin, Texas, and I have to say I am so excited this franchise has come to our area. The outstanding item for me was their Roja salsa that was absolutely fantastic. I told one of the staff in the restaurant that I could literally drink a bowl of the Roja salsa it was so delicious. It had a very deep, smoky tomato flavor that to me was perfectly salty and balanced with chips. I'm glad the salsa ran out eventually, I probably could've hurt myself eating that salsa with the chips! For my entrée I tried their Baja shrimp taco with grilled shrimp instead of fried. Then the other taco, the beef fajita with grilled beef, cheese, and more Roja salsa. The service was prompt and friendly, the restaurant was clean, and I loved their soda fountain area. It was very clean and orderly, and they have that little mini nugget ice. Looking forward to coming back again, maybe for happy hour, which I see is till six on the evenings. So it seems like a nice restaurant, and I hope that they have a thriving business here in Central Florida. I really love their flavors and looking forward to eating there again soon. read more

Torchy's is finally here! It seems like it has been forever that we have been waiting for them to open! I used to live in Austin, TX so I am very familiar with Torchy's and I am so excited we have one in Orlando. This location just opened last week and we waited a bit to hopefully avoid craziness. I am happy to report that while it was definitely crowded, there was no long line out the door or crazy long wait for food. We went around 1:30pm on a Thursday and were able to quickly get our order in and we could easily find a seat. Our queso came out really quick and our food did not take too long. The chips & queso are delicious! The queso has mix-ins that add so much flavor in my opinion. It has a slight bit of heat, but I am a wimp when it comes to heat and I enjoy their queso so much. My favorite tacos include the Tipsy Chick (my favorite), Fried Avocado and The Democrat. However, I am not sure you can go wrong with your taco selection. The tacos ran about $5-$6 each and usually I get two tacos plus chips & queso to share. I was happy with the size of the restaurant and their are lots of tables, and even a bar inside! There were lots of employees who were all super friendly and very proactive in cleaning/clearing trash and delivering food. So glad they are finally open and we will definitely be back! read more

We went again and the food is fantastic! I had to give 5 stars even though I've yet to meet the manager. That's usually the final criteria for a 5 star review. We discovered they have a secret menu, although too late to order from it this time. Just ask if you're interested. I would post a pic of it, but that spoils the fun. I had the chicken fajita taco this time and it was packed with flavor--so good. We had a free 1/2 Queso with chips for signing up for their rewards app. I've shared a photo of the difference between a 1/2 size and full size. read more

They are open now!. First time visiting Torchy tacos in Altamone Springs, since they open few weeks ago. Great atmosphere and they have an outside and inside seating. They also have a bar area where you can enjoy a drink while eating your food. Great customer service and friendy staff. Tried out Torchy's for the first time in FL today! I had been in Texas before, but actually only had their breakfast tacos (which were so good!!) This time we came for lunch at the Altamonte location. Prices were a bit steeper than I remember in Texas -- about $5-6+ per taco. Everything is a la carte. I ordered the taco of the week/month special, the carnitas taco, queso, and a soda. Total was $24.... I will say, the tacos were great. Perfect tender and moist, not dry, and great flavor. I really liked that each came with a little sauce to add to it. I really liked the chipotle sauce, which was quite spicy. i really did like the queso as well! The hillbilly queso comes with Chorizo on it which was yummy as well. Staff was very nice they came to take away our plates and check in on us. The overall restaurant was very clean and surprisingly, they actually have a full bar! i would definitely come back to try some more tacos and for that queso alone!! read more

The new torchy's in Longwood.... 4 of us went last night. We had 6 tacos, the rice, and refried beans and queso and an order of churros and 2 sodas It was around $90 total We went at 7:45 PM that's when we ordered and we had to wait a half hour .... Very interesting choices for tacos and names. That was super cute. Of Everything we ate the churros and the refried beans were the best. One of us had a beef taco and a chicken taco, and the beef was so tough he could not eat it. He gave the chicken taco us five out of 10. The others had the naughty Santa, which is grilled shrimp and other things, ( that person got sick in the middle of the night) the one with the fried shrimp, just didn't care for it and the trailer park/trashy ( cheese instead of lettuce, ) which is the taco they r known for( that person got sick today ) So sad to say, we are not fans read more

Oh how the mightly have fallen.. You order on a kiosk now, no more personal interaction, no recommendations, you figure it out on your own. They a tip is requested at the end. My plan was to leave cash tip, but our queso was missing the chorizo. When we asked the waiter about it, he said yes you ordered it with chorizo, did you still want it? I politely said yes, but he never returned with it. He never showed his face again.. So we paid more for the queso with chorizo to never recieve it.. Let the mad rush begin! It was packed in there for lunch. You get in line, order at the register, and take an electronic pad...although they didn't seem to work as the employees were walking around looking for the tables. Everything is a la cart, and tacos start at around $6, for one taco. Although they are bigger than a street taco, you need at least two or chips and dip to be full. I tried the seasonal "naughty Santa" taco, and downloaded the app for chips and queso. The mini queso container is adorable. Chips were ok. My taco had very good flavor, I just wish they had the sauces out and available to try as it was too busy to ask for anything. I also tried the churros. Imagine a fried cake. It was good but the texture was too soft. read more

We frequent this restaurant probably three times a week, for the most part it is great. This last time was atrocious! We ordered our food and sat down. There were only two other tables sat in the restaurant. While we were waiting about thirty people came in. It looked like an office lunch group. It took awhile, but they all placed their orders and sat down. We are still waiting for our food. At the 45 minute mark, I asked for an update on our food. The answer I got was that they are busy in back. When it became an hour and fifteen minutes and my child is crying, we asked for a refund. We were told that after everyone is served then the manager will be out. At this point the big group is being served and we still have not gotten our food. Finally the manager comes out. We explain and all she says is "I remember making your food, I don't know what happened ". There was no 'I'm sorry' or 'let me make your food right now', there was nothing. She refunded our money and walked away. Everything in this place has gone down hill- the quality, the management, the employees. The only shining light in the whole restaurant is Sadie! When she is there everything runs smoothly and people are treated with respect. When she isn't there everything goes to shit! We won't ever be returning to eat here again! read more

Torchy's Tacos - "The Democrat " Beef Taco - Tacos Near Me - Altamonte Springs, Florida

Love the theme of the restaurant. It's super creative and a unique vibe. It's relatively new, I believe the cashier told us they opened end of last year or beginning of this year. Very clean place! The cashier was super friendly and helpful. Since it was our first time she offered great recommendations like trying the chips and queso as well as the sangria. We loved both! Sadly, I feel like our tacos were average. They tasted okay, but nothing special. My boyfriend made some modifications to The Democrat by omitting the cilantro, subbing for sautéed onions instead of raw, and having the tomatillo salsa on the side. With that, we felt like the portion of meat look stingier compared to our other tacos. My Mr. Orange tasted good and had a healthy portion of salmon. However, the Beef Fajita taco was not my favorite. It seemed too basic and not the best quality. it tasted cheap. It wasn't bad, but it's not what I expected from a taco specialty restaurant. I'd come back for the appetizers and sangria but unfortunately not on the tacos. There's just better quality elsewhere. read more

Always wanted to check Torchy'a out. I forgot to take pictures of my food that's how hungry I was. I am giving this place 3.5 stars because the food was a bit on the salty side for me. Tacos are a la carte which is fine. I asked the cashier which was his favorite and he told me the Trailer Park taco. It basically a fried piece of chicken breast, green chiles, pico de gallo, cheddar cheese and poblano pepper sauce. I asked to have the sauce on the side. The taco itself was very good but a bit saltier than I prefer. You also have the option to go without the lettuce and replace it with queso! My second taco the Democrat. I honestly like this one a lot; it was simple yet tasty. It had barbacoa, cilantro, lime, avocado with tomatillo sauce. All in all great place to grab a quick bite or even chill for happy hour where they have a full bar. read more

Torchy's will always have my heart! During my trip to Orlando, my boyfriend and I made a trip to this beloved taco chain and it was life changing. Unfortunately, in New York, there's barely any good options for tacos and it's sad to say this single handedly beat out anything we've tried. We had 6 different tacos and they were all great! I loved how each one tasted unique with different toppings, sauces, and overall flavor profiles. I wish I heeded the warning about the Diablo sauce because I doused my taco in it and instantly regret it after the first bite. The street corn was amazing, super unique in flavor and very cheesy. But THE CHURROS - absolutely unreal. Hands down the best churros I've ever had, I had to go back for seconds. They were so soft and pillowy with a slightly crunchy exterior and paired with that dulce de leche sauce.... Mmmmmm. Planning my next trip back asap! read more
