Finally tried this place in Apopka. There are many locations in central Florida but with so many competing for this market share, it was never at the top of my list. I went at the recommendation of a friend who highly recommended their ceviche. My daughter and I went and tried the dip trio (salsa, guacamole and queso). We waited in line for a few minutes right after they opened and were served pretty quickly. The restaurant was painted brightly and decorated with pictures of the food on the wall in addition to a sugar skull theme throughout. All three of the dips we ordered were good, large portions and came with fresh, hot (and delicious!) chips. The guacamole was easily the best of the three, in my opinion. Creamy, tasty and so fresh! I ordered the ceviche and my daughter ordered the birria torta. I ordered the pineapple aqua Fresca and she got a Jarritos drink. Our lunches came out quickly. The ceviche was a large serving. Probably enough for 2 people! Chunks of shrimp and topped with guacamole, this ceviche was standard, in my opinion. Nothing special. It was good. I requested chips instead of saltines to go with my lunch. Large portion sizes are really the hallmark here. Again, the food is good, but unremarkable. Same holds true with the birria torta. A large serving of chopped beef (not shredded) and a taste very similar to a pot roast, this was equally unremarkable. Both of our lunches were excellent quality, and fine in taste. I like to get it light Tajín though because the full amount can be a little over powering! I randomly popped into Quesa Loco on a Thursday and was pleasantly surprised to see they have different specials almost every day of the week. Thursday happened to be happy hour for margaritas and they were really good. I loved that they added fresh watermelon chunks, it made it super refreshing. I'm a big Birria girl, so of course I ordered the Birria platter. I shared it with my partner and we also got a side of Esquite (basically elote in a cute little cup). That was pretty tasty. Atmosphere-wise, Definitely a 10/10. The whole location is adorable. We sat outside to enjoy the sun, but inside was also really cute and trendy. I'm happy that the cashier was very patient with us when deciding, and she showed us the wall of photos of everything on the menu, which helped a lot! My only downside is that the food was a bit pricey for what you get, and most of the Birria options tasted a little bland except the Tijuana-style with avocado, that one had the best flavor. Wow wow WOW!!! I'm seriously obsessed with this place. I wish there was one closer to me, but honestly it's 100% worth the drive. The ambiance is so cozy and inviting, I loved the whole vibe as soon as we walked in. The service was also great, especially considering we showed up about 30 minutes before closing and they still had a ton of orders coming in. Everything was quick and handled so well. I already can't wait to go back! The taco box was PERFECT literally everything I wanted and more. The guac and queso fresco were AMAZING. My husband ordered the Cali burrito and wow... so good. I've been to the Quesa Loco in Winter Park and enjoyed it so while in Apopka I decided to stop by for dinner. This location is smaller than Winter Park but did have plenty of seating. When you enter you have to go to the counter to place your order and then once your order is done they will bring it to your table. It took a while for us to get our food served, which was surprising because we were the only family in the dining room. All of our food tasted good and was prepared correctly. The horchata and Mango Agua Fresca were both fresh, delicious, and honestly my favorite part of the meal. The churro was just ok, it was kind of hard and the chocolate sauce was cold. I really had high hopes for this place because the photos and reviews look awesome. I got the Birria ramen and Birria taco. The Birria taco was pretty good--nothing to rave about though. But the ramen really disappointed me. It *looked* SO good, but sadly lacked any flavor. It tasted like it was missing spices. I had my friend try it to make sure it wasn't just my tastebuds and she said that it just tasted like bland broth. And to add to the disappointment, the noodles were overcooked (they tasted like they were re-heated due to the mushy consistency). We definitely came during a rush so the wait was about 25-30min which was fine! The service was impeccable. Cashier was very polite and friendly. It was super cold inside so I would bring a jacket or sit inside. They suggested that we grab an appetizer so that we had something to munch on while we waited unfortunately it didn't come until after the food and we did chips/salsa but were told they were out of salsa. The food was really good though! The Quesabirria is finally up there with my other favorite Pass Progressive in Altamonte. A lot of restaurants in Central FL claim to have good quesabirria but I would only send someone asking for it here or there. The street corn was OKAY I think wanted more spice so the hot sauce for the tacos helped with that. The loco agua fresca was also very good definitely a larger drink that can be shared. Mexican rice was well seasoned. My husband didn't like the plantains he didn't really it was covered in queso and cheese. The food was absolutely incredible--everything came out hot, fresh, and clearly made with so much intentionality. We went as a family and tried a lot. I got the tacos , my husband went for the birria tacos, we shared loaded fries, the sampler dipping trio, and THE Queso . Everything was delicious, with generous portions to match. I Didn't realize they had opened a new Quesa Loco location about 10 minutes from my house . I was in the mood for tacos so I made my way over to the restaurant to try it out . The ambiance upon walking in was beautiful. It's very colorful and festive both inside and out. You can order online for pickup or order at the window. They have specials on certain days. I went on a Thursday which was "Thirsty Thursday's" it was a $1.00 off agua frescas. I ordered 2 mango Pina frescas. For food I ordered 4 street tacos, flavors steak, shrimp & chicken, 4 quesaBirria tacos, 2 esquite corns one regular and one loco with hot Cheetos. It took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready. The street Tacos were just ok . The steak was a bit dry because it was over cooked so it was hard to chew. The shrimp were flavored well and the chicken was ok. The Quesabirria tacos were delicious! Very well flavored. I would definitely order them again . The corn was good and I would go back and order that again as well. The drinks were delicious and even when the ice melted it held its flavor. Overall I enjoyed the restaurant experience. We were in Apopka for a volleyball tournament yesterday and were starving. I have been going to the Winter Park location every Wednesday for their $3 Quesabirria taco special, which is a deal just too good to pass up. This was our first visit to the Apopka location. It is smaller than Winter Park, but we found a table quite easily. So now that it was Sunday, and we hadn't eaten for hours, I thought we would try some of their other items. We ended up getting the Birria Pizza, and the Birria Nachos. Both portions were huge! Everything was hot and delicious as usual. Daughter enjoyed her nachos, and then got some churros and chocolate sauce for dessert. This has quickly turned into one of my favorite restaurants in the area.
