Tacos were good was not a fan of the chicken tacos but the kids liked them. Service was amazing. The guys were great. Space was very clean and they share a space with the brewery next-door. I would definitely go back again to try something different. I do recommend given this place a shot. I've seen it multiple times I've driven past it always how it was. And finally decided to go and check it out with my kids and my kids love tacos so it was a hit with them.
The staff was friendly and the food was great. Ordered Birria tacos and steak chimichanga.
We came to eat on Labor Day evening and we were so pleased to find them open and not busy. The gentleman at the front seemed less than enthused when he greeted us but he was a bit friendlier when we asked him for recommendations since it was our first time. We went with the special which was three tacos with choice of meat. The chicken was dry but the beef and pork were tasty. The taco salad was hearty and the flavorful and the shell was fresh and crispy. The quesadilla was good and hearty. All in all, we enjoyed the food and the ambiance of the combined real estate with the brewery next door. We are not beer drinkers but it's cool that you can order at Wako Taco and have your food brought to you next door at the connected brewery. I would be interested to come back and give it another shot.
Very nice staff to serve. Fast and easy service! Everything is cooked fresh and the kitchen is small so you can see it being done. The menu is small but perfect if you know what you want. The pork taco was $3 with the works. They found the perfect amount of ingredients to put on the taco. I also ordered the fish taco which was mahi mahi. It came with red cabbage Cole slaw and orange slices on top. They gave us small sauces, one sweet and one spicy. The sweet one was cold and the spicy one was warm. Perfect combo to try out on the fish taco. Definitely worth a visit back! And it helps that it's attached to Hourglass Brewery!
I have been here twice, and both times the service has been friendly and the tacos good. I tried the Queso Birria tacos and The Mahi Fish tacos. They both were very flavorful and the sauces were excellent as well. Right next to Hourglass Brewery, and they will bring your food to you there as well. I would like to try a few more things, and I will be back.
Came at 8:00pm on a Saturday. Saw they had a vegan option so husband and I ordered that for tacos: 3 for $9. Positives: Wako Taco is connected to Hourglass Brewing so after you order, you take your order # stand with you to Hourglass. The Food Runner will bring out your order. Nice touch. When the tacos arrived, I saw they were half filled: the bottom basically had a dollop of refried beans, some shredded lettuce and heaping spoonful of pico. When I took a bite, it was all cold... The whole bottom of my tacos were soggy from too much pico. :/ I wonder if anyone else has tried their veggie options. Let me know! Maybe it was a busy night.
Really delicious quesadilla and love their avocado sauce! This location is open/connected to Hourglass Brewing next door. Hourglass doesn't serve food, so the Wako Taco staff will walk your food over into the pub, or you can bring a beer into Wako, it's a symbiotic relationship going on here with beer and tacos. So back to the quesadilla, it had ground beef, lots of chewy, melty cheese, and I asked for extra jalapeños. It was so good! Their taco sauces were smokey and delicious too. The avocado sauce is a blend of avocado and heavy dose of cilantro. To the person that complained in another yelp review about their "guacamole", this avocado sauce is not guacamole at all, it's a flavor packed avocado concoction, so the color is a bit darker and the flavor is intense. Tried the Namesake Wako Taco too, it was pretty spicy (and I already like it hot), so tread with caution on this item's spice level. The Wako Taco was good, but that quesadilla did it for me. The service can get jammed up a bit, but the people working were hustling to keep up with the demand. Had a nice experience and would come again.
Stopped here for a quick bite before walking into hourglass brewing. Great fast food burrito!! This will fill you up!!!
Mexican-owned. A blend of authentic and modern/trendy. They make the hot sauces themselves and they are all good! Especially the habanero...yum. The fish taco is decent, the mahi was cooked well! Wish it had a little more toppings on it but I do like that their slaw it chopped finely. Not a huge fan of big cabbage pieces. The chicken tacos were fresh. And though not superrrr flavorful, I don't really mind because I know a bunch of salt isn't being thrown into it. Top it off with their homemade hot sauce and you're good. Nice people, too! Good service.
4 stars for some pretty tasty food connected to one of my favorite breweries, Hourglass Brewery! I've been meaning to try this place every time we come to Hourglass. I'm a little picky with Mexican but this place didn't disappoint. Our food came out super fast after ordering at the counter. We were planning on sharing a burrito but the photos looked so good for the chimichanga on Yelp so I had to give it a go. I sometimes think chimichangas can be a little greasy since its fried but this was made so well. It was crispy fried goodness without the oil feel. We chose the pulled pork, it was really tender and had a nice bbq flavor to it. All the menu items do not come with chips but you can have a side order of blue tortilla chips for $2, or even better $3 for chips and a dip. I ordered the queso based on recommendation, it was a nice creamy cheese goodness with a good kick of spice. Definitely try the free homemade hot sauce at the counter, there's a mind and hot. I really liked the hot sauce, it didn't seem to spicy at first but it has a after kick, loving it! Great place to check out if you're drinking craft beer at Hourglass, prompt service and all around good Mexican, I was quite impressed by our first visit!
The Asada, Al pastor and Barbacoa tacos in the homemade yellow corn tortillas were beyond delicious and the green hot sauce was my favorite salsa I've ever had, I literally had to get some to go. It almost had a spicy curry flavor to it. The Al pastor had so much flavor and was exactly what I needed. The asada was my favorite though even though they were all great and I can't wait to come back again!
Everything was tasty. Shrimp tacos - had to dig in to uncover the shrimp; steak chimichanga - loaded with rice, beans, veggies and chunks of steak; vegetarian wako taco. My favorite was the wako taco - reminded me of chiles rellenos
To Wako Taco: Thank you for being flexible and making your items vegan friendly. Not only is it delicious, but also convenient as they bring the food over to you if you're sitting at hourglass. The tacos were fantastic. They were loaded with white rice, refried beans, pico de gallo, and freshly sliced avocado, and they happily customize in accordance your likes/dislikes. Very pleased, and would happily return.
Yum on the food here with some spectacular tasting tacos and pork sandwiches. Wow. Love this place. Great friendly with a cool looking restaurant next to the brewery. Definitely will go back for some delicious tacos. Steak Tacos were amazing read more
Wako must mean messy in whatever language it's from. Everything I've ever eaten here has been messy. It's good stuff, but it got to the point where I just didn't want to deal with it any more. The food can be hit or miss. I think it's because it's not overly busy most of the time, so maybe the people get bored or the food sits or something. I really enjoyed the shrimp taco, but the fish taco was just kinda there. The Wako Taco was good too. It's "Attached" to the Hourglass Brewery (Longwood Location) so it's super convenient to grab a bite when you're have a beer or five. read more

I came to visit with co-workers and we ordered a bunch of items to share and really enjoyed everything! We got the birria tacos, fish tacos, the wako taco, nachos, and the concha sandwich. Everything was absolutely delicious. The concha sandwich was a favorite with tender meat and a sweet bun. The guava sauce was especially good. The nachos were loaded and had tons of flavor. All of the tacos were delicious and well prepared. Service was fast. This is a great place to visit and share with a group. read more

A wonderful spot. We got the burrito and taco salad. The service was fast and the food was hot and fresh. Attached to a brewery with arcade machines. The portions were BIG. More than enough for two people. It tasted amazing and came with complimentary hot sauces. read more

Wako Taco is best when you've been drinking at Hourglass and need some good grub. I've been here several times and it's consistently been a solid experience. It's the perfect kind of "bar" food. There are several ways to dine at Wako Taco. You can order it and dine in, order and have it brought to you in Hourglass, or take it to go. Pay at the counter and wait with a number. You can't go wrong with the taco options. My favorite meat is the pork because of the way they cook it. It's seriously so tender and flavorful. My friend last time got the carne asada ones and she enjoyed them immensely. The taco salad is also another solid option. It came in a taco bowl the last time I ordered it so be sure to eat it quickly or else the bowl starts to get soggy. On our last visit, my friend ordered the burrito (veggie) and she said it was just average. It was filled with mostly rice. I had vegetarian nachos and those were phenomenal! I actually enjoyed them better than the ones I've ordered in the past with meat on it. I would say to stay away from their queso...it's like a weird taste/texture and it's not as cheesy as some other places. Also, save room for their dessert tacos. I've never personally had them but my friends rave about them and say they are the best. I'll be sure to check those out next time! read more

The service is a bit bizarre. Maybe I was just there on an off night, but the poor kid who delivered our food to us at the bar next door was super-confused and got the orders wrong/mixed up and took a while to fix them/figure it out. (They serve you your food at the bar next door, Hourglass Brewery, BTW.) But that chimichanga though... seriously. That chimichanga is a ton of food, and amazingly-delicious. I've also had the tacos - those were good, but nothing to write home about. Definitely go with the chimichanga! I do wish they served food the whole time the bar was open, but they stop serving at 10pm on week nights. It's definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. read more

I personally wasn't too impressed by the food here, but my fiancé really liked his tacos. The meat in mine was dry and the taco itself lacked flavor. There was a hot sauce that they came around and offered, and I would say that's what saved my tacos. The queso was very underwhelming, also no flavor which was disappointing. I guess the two of us had different expectations, and because of this, he suggested I give 4 stars! read more
We stopped in for dessert and it didn't disappoint.. I've had lunch here before that was very good,but we had lunch next door at papa bees..connects to Hourglass brewing, so I had a really nice Stout while the kids ate thier dessert... highly recommend lunch and dessert at Waco taco and a few beers at Hourglass.. they have a WHOLE WALL of PINBALL MACHINES!!! read more

My wife and I each ordered the tacos, which come with three super-stuffed tacos, with your choice of meat. My wife chose Steak for all three; and, I chose two Pibil Pork and one Steak. The pork was the standout, even though it is quite messy. Each taco is topped with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and shredded cheese, which I adore; and, sauce. There are additional sauces available; and, I added habanero salsa to each of mine. The tacos were great; and, we were very pleased dining inside. The seats were comfortable; and, the table was spacious. Our daughter wasn't hungry, so she just got a can of Coke. read more

Chicken chimichanga! I was actually surprised that I liked this meal so much. The burrito was mostly filled with rice. I was really happy that they used real rice and not something that came from the box. I absolutely loved the cheese sauce. There wasn't too much chicken, but I didn't mind. I recommend coming here lunch since almost every item is $2 cheaper. And be sure to visit the brewery next door. read more
Honestly, we came here under false pretenses because I was really jonesing for beers at Hourglass next door. Thankfully, Wako Taco opens up into Hourglass and all was right with the World. Wako Taco's seating's tight, (say that three times) but I Love that you're welcome to carry your food over into Hourglass. Not exactly cheap eats. Lunch for two was about $25 and that's with the lunch special. Went in for two veggie tacos and one vegan one. All were enjoyable. Nice fat, plump ones. I liked both styles but the vegan ones were much better, I thought. They weren't missing anything without the cheese and the pico and fresh avocado slices elevated them to an epiphany. Lol...not really but they were really good. My partner had the shicken chimichanga and she Loved it; and I agree, the flavors were there, but it was basically a rice chimichanga as there really wasn't much of any chicken in it but oddly enough, there was a fair bit around it. Anyhow, it tasted grate with all the cheese in and around it. And the rice was nice. It was rich and there was a lot of it. Asked for tap water, they sold us a bottle. They're a solid three something rounded up. I'd come back but be torn between other choices. read more

I am blown away that this place only has 3.5 stars. I haven't tried everything on the menu but what I have tried is fricken delicious. Their queso is made with beer from Hourglass brewery next door. The brewery and taco place have the best marriage. Everyone wants Mexican food when they drink beer. I've tried their queso and chips as well as their burrito/salad bowl. If I lived closer I would never go to Chipotle for a bowl. Theirs is much better! The mild sauce is so complex and delicious! It is sweet, Smokey, and slightly spicy. I wish I lived closer to try their food more often! read more

I love that this spot is connected to yet separate from the Hourglass Brewing. I got the children's taco plate (chicken) and steak nachos. Look how pretty those nachos are! They were tasty, too, and not spicy if you're worried about that. The kids chicken taco didn't have any spice either. I mention that because we have been to a couple of places that say "kids" meal but then the pick de gallo or the guacamole will have chopped jalapeño in it. Makes for a miserable dinner with a 13-month old. The taco had pico on it - no jalapeño- and even that is optional, of course. Great value, great service, and convenient if you're hanging out next door at Hourglass and enjoying a pint. read more

I first went to this restaurant with my boyfriend because he wanted me to try this lovely restaurant. The interior of this restaurant was very relaxing As well as very friendly employees that work there too. This restaurant exceeded my expectations when it came to the food. What I got was a Carne Asada nachos and let me tell you they were the greatest nachos that I've ever had! What is the flavoring of guacamole, the smooth creaminess of the castle, as well as the spicy Carne Asada was *chef's kiss*. If you are looking for a fun environmental restaurant to eat your nachos or many other things on the menu, this is your ticket to deliciousness. read more
Wako Taco was wako unimpressive unfortunately.. Heard great things about their tacos and the quality they offered. Went for two different the tacos and the nachos. Tacos: Went with the carne asada tacos. They did accommodate me when letting me have one soft taco with 2 blue corn hard tacos. The steak was very chewy and lacking the basic flavors of salt and pepper. Filling tacos but lack of flavor. Nachos: Was a step above the tacos. The queso was good since they tie it in with local beer to make it. However more than half the nachos were soggy and had no bite to it. Would love to say I'll be back but more than likely not unless next door at the brewery and of in need of food. read more
