The Rundown: Puerto Rican chain new to the US, they offer reasonable pricing with quality offerings. The review: I wasn't expecting much - taco places I feel tend to be either overpriced or not great. Fortunately this concept was neither! It feels slightly like a mix between Subway and Chipotle - where you place your order and move down the line, adding toppings as you go. We tried their platters and taco pockets, along with their desserts. Pricing was very reasonable and overall the flavors were solid. The taco pockets were a neat design, but not quite as I was expecting. Not sure why, but the photos give off more solid, crunch vibes when in reality it's a very soft item. Not a big deal, just keep this in mind that central piece is just tortilla and not a firm taco. The platters were a nice deal, keep in mind that the nachos are not your typical style as the cheese is not melted. The desserts were not bad, but they didn't feel like a "closing item" and seemed to blend in with the meal. Overall, it's definitely worth stopping in. I'd recommend getting one of their platters, which offer a great value. You can pass on the dessert and still have an enjoyable experience.

Food was amazing! Restaurant was very clean! Setup is similar to chipotle but the food tastes better and they offer sweet plantains. The sweet plantains were perfect and made my burrito pop.

Stopped here on a whim the other day. Seen it many times while grabbing pizza from Muzzarellas across the way. That's what my plan was, but, changed my mind at the last minute. Not the worst decision I've made but certainly not the best. I Knew nothing about this place other than the sign said tacos. Let's be honest, there are no bad tacos, just better ones. When you walk in you are greeted with a huge open dining area. Tile floors and brightly colored walls give the place an inviting fun atmosphere. It was about 5:30pm on a Wednesday evening when I visited. No one was there at that time. I walked in to find that the ordering style is just like those of Chipotle or Qdoba. The food options are very similar as well. I walked up to the counter and was greeted by to very nice employees. I took a moment to look through the menus and settled on a Grande Plater which consisted of a burrito a side of tortilla chips, a very large crunchy taco and a scoop of black beans. On the taco I chose to go with ground beef, lettuce, tomato's, cheese and sour cream, in the burrito I went with pork and black beans, topped with cheese, and sour cream. I chose to go with a drizzle of their house made fresh green hot sauce on the burrito and on the chips. I also could not help my self and ordered a side of cheese fries. What can I say I'm a sucker for fries. Everything was made right in front of me as they asked the questions and everything appeared to be fresh. The taco was pretty basic other than being the largest crunchy taco I have ever had. The meat lacked a little spice/seasoning in my opinion, all the veggies were fresh and the green sauce was good. My pork burrito was pretty good. A little on the salty side but did not lack in flavor. I think the green sauce was the star on this one. The cheese fries I just couldn't say no to were were just ok. The fries were precooked and sitting in the hot table and the was squeezed out of a bottle. They were just ok in my opinion. I wish I asked for green sauce on those. Not sure if they will get a second chance or not. The place was clean and the series's good but that's only half of what I was hopping for. If you're in a hurry and need a quick bite this might be the place.

If you want overpriced mediocrity this is your spot! If that's not your jam then may I recommend literally anywhere else? Better off going to Taco Bell where the food would still be slightly better there and cheaper. If you're down to spend $10+ for lunch then go straight to Chipotle or Moe's. Everything about the menu and service indicates a business in distress that is trying to pass off its losses to the unknowing customers that wander in. Do you want rice and beans in that burrito that you're paying $10 for along with a hard taco? Up-charge for both. Water cup? You get bigger cups at the dentist office. And all of this I might overlook if the food was actually tasty. Unfortunately for me and for the future of this eatery it was not.

I first saw this place at a gas station and did not pay it much attention... I mean it was a taco place at a gas station... well I started seeing billboards for this place on Lake Underhill near the Florida Hospital. It's no longer a place in a gas station.... This place is actually in a plaza across the street. The place is bran spanking new. I was adventurous and decided to take my wife and daughter for dinner... this place boasts of "fresh" guac... When you arrive, the outside is very nice with several signs confirming the fresh guac and fresh salsa. The salsa does NOT disappoint. They offer a red sauce and a green sauce. The red sauce is tad bit on the sweet side, but good and the green sauce is "caliente" hot but sooo good. I ordered a made to order burrito. They have several meat selections and plenty of toppings including "sweet plantains"????????? Well, that's not really Mexican, but it's nice that they offer that. They prices range from $8 and up but they also have a $5 kids menu. Drinks are fountain style, but they also offer Jarritos brand soda bottles and for the peeps that like "cerveza" beer with their tacos, the offer Modelo and other selections. It was about 30 something bucks for three people. The guac is fresh... but it had no salt... fine with me but most people like it with some salt. It is served in a little bitty cup, not what I like, but you get that and some chips in little bag for $2.50. Not a bad place.

Whether it's tacos, burritos, fajitas or dessert, the food is served fresh and with passion. The menus are full of savory and customizable Mexican food options to fit any taste and any diet. Taco Maker features beef and chicken fajitas and fresh made on site guacamole, tortillas and chips as well as fresh made sauces with over 20 fresh ingredients to choose from. Inside is pretty open and spacious. Guests walk up, place their order and customize it as they go through the line and seat themselves, Fast-Casual at its core. Guests have a variety of toppings and options to fully customize their orders as they go through the line. We tried a Quesadilla Platter, a Taco Salad that is fully customizable and served in a house made deep fried tortilla. This was filled with Chicken Criollo. Proteins available here are Ground Beef, Chicken Criollo, Steak Fajita, Chicken Fajita or Pork Carnitas and a Mexican Grill Bowl with seasoned ground beef and Mexican rice and a Jarritos Lime soda. A Taco Trio Platter with Chicken, Carnitas and Ground Beef with black beans, chips and Mexican rice. The Grande Platter I ordered came with a taco and a burrito, so I got the burrito stuffed with carnitas, and went with the ground beef for the taco. The carnitas were very flavorful and really good for a fast casual place, but they do make it everyday in house. The Apple or Cherry Pies are deep fried tortillas with apple or cherry filling and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon...what's not to like? Of course the Nutella Cheesecake Pie is pretty much a game changer. This is a deep fried flour tortilla with cheesecake and Nutella filling and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. They also serve Rellenitas XL, which is basically a quesadilla filled with nutella and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Overall, we really enjoyed Taco Maker. The prices are very affordable, a combo is about $9.00 here, and that includes a drink.

Another customizable Mexican food spot with all the basics: tacos, bowls, etc. but I will admit, the Nutella cream cheese dessert is amazeballs +Environment: The ambience is similar to any quick service joint, but the yellow branding/aesthetics does make the store feel brighter, making for a lighthearted dining experience. +Service: Quick service. Though nothing spectacular, there's also nothing to complain about. +Food: The portion size is satisfactory, where the bowls are filling. I did overhear other people wanting more in their tacos, but then again, all menu items are customizable so you can always order extra meat. Tastewise: the bowl I had tasted fairly fresh, but the menu item that got me smiling was the Nutella cream cheese churro. It has a warm, gooey filling with a toasted outside! Though it's very sweet, it's not sickly sweet. I find myself craving it whenever I develop a sweet tooth. +Overall: Comparable to Chipotle, but a good alternative whenever you're in the area.

Disclaimer: this review is for the lunch buffet only…read more I went with my family to try the $18.49 all you can eat lunch buffet. This was my first time experiencing a buffet for hispanic food and for this price point in Orlando, this is an amazing value deal. The server regularly brought us out silverware, napkins, and refilled our water. The place is decorated very fun and plays latin music which was lovely Not only was there an unlimited assortment of lunch foods, but an entire bar of fresh toppings for tacos (or rice bowls) and made to order desserts which were included for free! Not everything on the buffet line was the best but given the amount of options, price, and how good the great items are this is still worth a five star rating. I unfortunately did not take pictures of the food before I began devouring everything in sight to the point of near-collapse, but I will do a quick rundown of the buffet highlights: The best meats were the fajita steak, chicken, and shrimp made fresh in cast iron skillets, as well as the chicken lengua which was super flavorful and tender. The mexican rice, beans, fajitas, plantains, and street corn were also excellent. Fresh quesadillas, chips, and corn tortillas on standby with homemade queso and salsas. The flan and mini churros were the best I've ever had. Super rich, decadent Carmel flan. Mini churros hot and crisp on the outside, filled with a gooey soft milk chocolate center. They were delicious. Items that were disappointing: the tamales, mini chicken flautas, and beef chimichangas were just okay, lacking the seasoning and flavor that other dishes had. The beef barbacoa was not as tender or flavorful as the shredded chicken surprisingly. The mixed seafood was itself a mixed bag with some shrimps / scallops overcooked to much while others were perfectly cooked. The chicken mole and beef tri tip were room temperature despite sitting on hot plates. The tri tip also varied widely in doneness throughout the slices and not super tender. The rice pudding was pretty standard, and the tres leches cake was weird as they crumbled the cake into pieces before soaking it.

This year I told my honey the only way I would go out was if we found a place that excepted reservations. In return, I accepted that it was most likely not going to be an extraordinary, authentic, or a gem of a place. My first experience at Solita turned out to be what I manifested. Upon entering the restaurant, vibes were in full effect. No mariachi band as I would have hoped, but the but the energy in the room was happy and festive. They had a DJ providing music, but it was so loud that when our waitress read us their specials, I literally told her I could not hear her. She did greet us with salsas, chips, and these little wheels I read a lot about. They had a similar texture to a chicharron and were simply delightful! Probably my favorite component I sampled all night. Since I had never been to Solita, I checked out Yelp to do my research. One thing I was excited to try was their "Duckie Frozé". It had Rosé, fruit purée, frozen margarita with your choice of flavor: watermelon, pomegranate, or guava. Adorning the top of the drink was a darling little rubber duckie. There are TONS of pictures of this drink on Yelp. Much to my surprise, my drink arrived with NO DUCK. When I asked the waitress about it, she shrugged it off said they "don't do that anymore". It may sound like a small thing to be disappointed about, but really that was just the start. Luckily, Cinco was on Tuesday this year, so we were able to order from the "Taco & Tequila Tuesday" discounted menu. We started off with the Grilled Corn Elote which is served tableside. I thought this would be cool, but it wasn't. It was a bit painful watching the waitress struggle to shave the corn off. I almost wanted to offer help! After all that, the corn was just ok. I personally think the Elote I make at home is better. Thankfully this was on the Tuesday Menu also making it only $5. While perusing their selections prior to going, I felt that their taco prices were a bit steep. They have two types of taco sizes. The Street Tacos looked itty bitty with next to nothing on them. They do have a lot of flavor choices (11), and you get 3-4 tacos for about $20. Glad I saw photos of these on Yelp beforehand. Then they have Tacos Locos. They are described as "One large taco" when in fact they are just regular sized tacos overflowing in toppings. Just ONE Tacos Locos costs about $15! I think the pricing is loco, and based off what we'd tried so far, I was certain to only order from the Tuesday menu. We were able to get a Shrimp Chicharron for $6 and a Vampiro (Chicken or Carnitas) for $8. The shrimp one was appetizing. I even remember thinking after the first few bites that I should have just gotten two of those. Then I tried a piece of chicken from my Vampiro. It was a piece of straight fat that I immediately spit out. That pretty much killed it for me, and I didn't even eat anymore of the Vampiro or anything else for that matter. The positives of the evening included: -Getting into a spot to celebrate on Cinco De Mayo -The food came out quicker than expected based on the reviews -Trying a new restaurant and learning that it's nowhere I will be returning to or recommending. Knowledge is power.

I believe they have several locations in the area, and this is a newer one with very welcoming and modern interiors. They have wonderful daily specials and various happy hour periods that extend from 2 to 10 PM, including $3 tacos from 8 until 10 PM. Meals start off with complimentary chips and salsa (4.5/5), which are happily refilled upon request. We tried a variety of tacos (5/5) which were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The vegetarian San Jose's fajita bowl (4.5/5) was tasty and served in a generous portion that is ideal for sharing. The cheese quesadilla (5/5) hit all the fresh flavor notes without the cheese being too sharp in taste. The churros (5/5) were the perfect dessert, having a slightly crunchy exterior and softer core as you bit into it. We loved the food and atmosphere so much that we visited twice the same week while visiting the Orlando area.
