I was feeling a little homesick and missing my rice so I ordered the Cali Rice Bowl and it was everything my body was asking for and more. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and everything tasted fresh and delicious. My partner ordered the birria tacos and he absolutely loved them. He kept talking about how flavorful they were and how well everything was prepared. We came later in the evening so the restaurant was pretty busy but we were seated immediately. The location itself is beautiful, though it is just a little dark inside. The prices were good and nothing crazy. But the real star of the show was our server Mateus. And I mean that sincerely. We ate here on February 9th and it is now March 13th and I am sitting here writing this review at midnight because I want everyone to know how amazing he was. We have never had such an energetic, sweet and attentive server who genuinely made us feel like we were dining with family. His kindness and personality truly made our experience at Agave Azul so much better. Honestly we wish we could have taken him with us.

There's enough food in this dish to last you two meals and every element is delicious. Special shout-out to the rice, which at some places is an afterthought, but is good enough to eat on its own here. If you're looking for a place for a quick bite, this is a great option for that reason. They are definitely used to volume food prep and you will not be waiting long. This dish came with a side of rice and beans and he couldn't stop raving about the black beans and how well-seasoned they were. Overall, good experience! I will say that I tend towards the smaller taco joints and this somehow gave me suburban vibes, but it was full of happy people!
