TWICE now, I've went to the Tops Camillus store to retrieve my Instacart order. The first time, after checking in, they never came out to my car in a reasonable amount of time. I called them after waiting about 20 minutes and no one answered the phone. I finally got through to the deli and they patched me to the manager, who brought out my order. He apologized and said the employees didn't hear the alert go off. The second time was WAY worse. I checked in and waited probably 15-20 minutes. After no response I called their service desk, no one picked up. I called the deli, and no one picked up. I called back a third time and it didn't even go to their outgoing menu. Someone picked up and said just "hello". I asked if it was Tops Camillus and the person said yes. I told them I've been waiting for almost 20 minutes. The person put me on hold, talked to the manager, and told me they wouldn't be able to help me. I was surprised. It's just pushing a cart out. I told them the last time this happened, the manager brought the order out himself. I told them the manager could bring it out like last time. The person said they would. So I waited another 10-15 minutes and no order. I called back and asked when the order was coming. Apparently I was talking to the "manager". He said there was a problem with the order. There was "a bag missing" and they wouldn't be able to fix the order tonight. At that time, I told them to just forget it and refund my money. They said they couldn't do refund me and that Instacart would have to. Bottom line, if Tops Camillus is going to offer Instacart shopping and curb side pick-up, they should be properly staffed to support their offerings. They shouldn't mis-shop orders, they shouldn't lose bags, they should fulfil the pick-up portion of the order, and they should rectify issues instantly when problem occur. If they can't do these things, then they shouldn't offer the service. I will never go back to that Tops or any other one. I would have given 0 stars if possible. read more

I have shopped at the Camillus Tops location for over 40 years. Tops took it over when the prior chain closed and retained many key staff members, I was so thankful as it is located in the heart of Camillus Plaza and one of only two grocery stores close at hand. In later years, many (certainly not all) but far too many of the older check out women working in the morning (when older people often shop) are rude, harsh, uncooperative and unwilling to listen to simple customer requests. I organize my items and corresponding bags according to what I can carry out of the store and into the house. (Cold items separate, heavy ones in cardboard bottomed bags so my son can later bring them in). It's simple, fool proof and necessary with arthritis. The younger clerks appreciate the organization but again today, with only two registers open to force people to check themselves out, the clerk would not listen to this simple request. I literally do all the work of organizing and providing the right bags in order. I am polite, friendly and respectful (at age 63). As usual "Susan" would not consider listening, and therefore I had to stand at the end of the check out and repack the entire order. Wegmans is further away, has a better produce section by far, but I have always liked this Tops store, just not the staff. Until now. It's time to order online and/or spend my considerable grocery dollars where common respect is not a lost cause. read more

This Tops supermarket location is one of the relatively newer and mid to large size locations. Overall, it is clean on both the outside and inside. Shelves are well stocked and aisles are clear. It provides all of your supermarket standards while doing nothing exceptional. It is amazingly average and leaves me with little to emphasize for positive or negative attributes. The words that comes to mind are bland, insipid, ordinary,,,,oh, it's expensive. read more

It's no wonder the chain is in bankruptcy. This store is dirty, and poorly stocked. Popular items are often out of stock. When shelves are being stocked, employees quite often block aisles, preventing customers form getting through. More than once I've had to turn around, as employee is too busy to clear or keep aisle clear. Produce is rarely fresh. Meats are high priced, and just average quality. Recently, more and more Tops branded items are replacing well known brands. Tops brands are priced similar, with less quality. Recently purchased a rotisserie chicken, only to find the meat not cooked with red juices flowing out when cut into at home. Check out is not much better. Young sometimes poorly trained employees pack items so that cleaning supplies are often placed with food items, soft items such as bread is packed with canned goods. To top it off, the primary entrance crosswalk leads out of the store to an impassable island, leading customers to walk in font of passing cars. read more

It's unfortunate that I feel compelled to write this review. I don't normally like to write bad reviews but this store was such a disappointment. I came to Tops because they had some really good deals advertised in the sale ad this week. I went in at 5:00 in the afternoon not at any wierd hour and low and behold literally every item in the ad that I came for was sold out, the shelves were empty. They did have plenty of the stuff that was more expensive than the sale items like some bait and switch. Luckily I didn't blow money buying the expensive stuff and just walked out. This has ruined the reputation of this store and we will be going elsewhere. read more

We went to Tops Market and we checked out at 10:30 PM , and the only checkout open was the self checkout. We had a large amount of groceries and had to check out a full cart using the self checkout .The attendant was no help . Why can't you have a regular checkout open . It took us about 25 min. to check all our groceries . While we were there 2 other people came in and saw that the only checkouts open were the self checkout and they left the store. Please rethink the self checkouts at night. We spent over $100 and if this is the only checkouts open we will have to go to Walmart or wegman ... read more

Went shopping at the Camillus Tops on a Friday night 9/21/18, The weather was getting windy. When leaving the store after I placed my cart in the cart corral I entered my car to check my receipt. I heard a loud bang on my car. It was so loud I thought another car had hit me. A shopping cart that the kids ride in hit the side of my car leaving two dents on it. I went inside to speak to the manager and he took a report and took pictures of my car. "Funny how at that moment one of the employees came out to clear the carts after someone complained" Their Insurance company is denying my claim. I will never shop again at their store again or "ANY TOPS". I will stick with Wegmans who "ALWAYS' provide excellent service and is on top of doing their job of keeping their parking lots cleared for their customers read more

Really weird place to shop. Every employee seemed miserable. I heard store manager Terry?(I'm not sure of his name), but I heard him yelling at a group of employees literally right in the middle of the store.
